Chapter 401 Now It Doesn't Matter Who Comes

The vibe got real tense, real quick.

Aaron looked down at her and said, "I'll find the bone marrow, I swear."

"What makes you so sure? If I can't find out where the bone marrow is today, I won't let the two of them go. Aaron, if you have the guts, step over my dead body!"

Susanna stood in front of him, cold and arrogant.

Aaron felt helpless and looked at Maud, saying, "Mom, Lillian is my daughter. How could you hide the bone marrow?"

Maud hesitated and then said, "Aaron, don't try to fool me. How could Nova's child be your daughter?"

Maud was guessing in her mind. 'Could it be that Nova is really Susanna?'

"Mom, she is Susanna. She was already pregnant when she left. The baby she's carrying is mine."

"Aaron, you say she is Susanna? But didn't you say at first that they just looked alike?"

"Mom, I have no reason to lie to you about this. She is indeed Susanna. At first, I just doubted her identity. You know about Susanna's situation. Now she doesn't want any more involvement with our Abbott family, so that's why she deliberately concealed her identity."

Maud actually believed Aaron, and her expression began to show signs of hesitation.

Vivian saw this and said, "Aunt Maud, don't be fooled. Maybe Aaron is also being deceived by Nova, just to trick you into giving up the bone marrow."

Maud nodded and said, "Yeah, is there any evidence to prove she is Susanna?"

At this moment, Susanna took out her ID and placed it in front of Maud. "This is my current identity. My name is Susanna. Is this enough to prove my identity?"

"Are you really Susanna? Is Lillian an Abbott?"

Maud finally realized the gravity of the situation and looked at Vivian, saying, "Vivian, where did you arrange to put the bone marrow?"

No matter what, they couldn't offend the Jones family.

Vivian immediately saw through Maud's intention and sneered, "How would I know where the bone marrow is?"

"Vivian, this is not the time for jokes. You know her identity, and Lillian's age matches. If she is indeed the Abbott family's granddaughter, then the bone marrow must be used to treat her."

If the Jones family heir gave birth to a child for the Abbott family, it would be a good thing.

After all, Susanna was now the heir of the Jones family and had given the Abbott family a daughter. From any perspective, they couldn't afford to offend her.

Vivian sneered, "Aunt Maud, weren't you the one arranging this? How could I possibly know where the bone marrow is?"

If Lillian died, then Ramond would be the only child of the Abbott family.

Susanna lost her patience and grabbed Vivian's hair. "Where is the bone marrow? This is your last chance."

Vivian wasn't afraid at all and looked directly at Aaron. "Aaron, are you just going to stand there and watch her abuse me like this?"

Aaron remained indifferent and coldly said, "You did do those things, you're not innocent. Hand over the bone marrow, or I can't guarantee your safety."

"You want the bone marrow? Easy! Make Susanna kneel and apologize to me, then take Lillian and never come back to Lindwell. Then I'll hand it over."

Susanna shot back, "You still don't get it, do you?"

She glanced at her bodyguard, grabbed his phone, and fired up a video call.

Susanna shoved the phone in Vivian's face. "Recognize this kid?"

On the screen, a little boy was tied up with his mouth covered.

It was Ramond.

Vivian freaked out. "You psycho! What are you gonna do to Ramond?"

"I don't wanna hurt Ramond. Just give me the bone marrow, and he'll be fine."

Vivian turned to Aaron, desperate. "Aaron, look at what she's doing to Ramond! What if he gets hurt? You promised to protect him forever!"

Susanna yanked Vivian's hair harder, her voice icy. "Don't count on Aaron. Your life is in my hands now. Aaron's promises mean squat. When will you get that?"

Aaron's voice was cold. "Lillian's my daughter. I owe her big time. For her, I'll break any promise."

Susanna's eyes flickered with confusion.

She could never figure out the deal between Ramond and Aaron.

Aaron never admitted Ramond was his son, so what was their connection?

But Susanna didn't have time to dwell on it. She glared at Vivian. "Made up your mind yet? Hand over the bone marrow. If anything happens to Lillian, Ramond's toast."

"Fine, I'll tell you where it is."

Vivian finally caved. Ramond was her only shot now.

Without him, she had no chance with the Abbott family.

Vivian said, "Honestly, I don't know exactly where it is. I just told the nurse to take it out. She asked what to do with it, and I said to get rid of it. I don't know if she trashed it."

Vivian hoped the nurse had already tossed it.

If so, Susanna's daughter was doomed.

Susanna's face darkened. She grabbed Vivian's neck. "You better hope the nurse didn't throw it away. Or I'll kill you and Ramond."

Vivian's eyes went wild. "Aaron promised to protect Ramond. You can't do it."

"Watch me."

Susanna shoved Vivian aside and told the bodyguard, "Lock her up. Don't let anyone near her without my say-so."

Vivian didn't react much, but Maud looked worried. "Can you let Ramond go then?"

Susanna's eyes were deadly. "If anything happens to Lillian because of the bone marrow, Ramond's going down with her! I swear it!"

"You wouldn't dare!"
