Chapter 115 Don't Lose It All

Upon seeing the title, Erica instantly panicked.
Erica suddenly felt like she couldn't understand the meaning of this sentence. Why would they do that?
Maud tentatively asked, "Erica, what's wrong with you? You seems not good.”
Erica immediately placed her phone upside down on the table, forcing a smile. "It's nothing, I just suddenly feel a bit uncomfortable in my stomach. Maybe I ate something wrong this afternoon."
"I will call the family doctor to check on you. I thought it was something Edward said that made you look so unpleasant!"
"No, Edward said he was too busy to come for dinner, and told me to rest early to prepare for tomorrow's engagement."
Suppressing her anger, Erica still fabricated a beautiful lie.
She took her phone and stood up. "Aunt Maud, I'm going to the restroom, no need to wait for me, feel free to start eating."
Erica went directly to the restroom with her phone, closing the door, and sat on the toilet, opening the document on her phone again.
She carefully read the contents of the document, her hands trembling.
She hadn't misread; it was a contract to end the adoption. Signing it would sever her ties with the Jones family, ending their familial bond. Tears welled up in Erica's eyes as she immediately called Edward, her voice trembling. "Edward, did I do something wrong to make you angry and want to drive me away? I grew up in the Jones family since I was a child. If you drive me away, what can I do in the future? Everyone will surely laugh at me."
"Erica, it's not that you did something wrong, but perhaps it was my mistake in the beginning, finding a girl of similar age to replace my sister. Now that you're grown up and about to marry into the Abbott family as Aaron's wife, you will surely live a comfortable life. So I think it's time to end this." Erica responded.
After talking to Austin on the phone in the afternoon, Edward decided to inform Erica about this matter in advance.
Nobody anticipated Susanna personally managing Erica and Aaron's engagement design, hinting at her likely presence at the event tomorrow. This introduced unpredictability to the engagement scenario. Edward didn't want Susanna to know Erica's identity at that occasion.
Arthur, Austin and him had to attend the engagement scene tomorrow, so he decided to discuss the termination of the adoption relationship with Erica in advance to avoid misunderstandings and conflicts.
After listening to this, Erica's expression became much darker.
In the end, she choked out, "Edward, please don't end the relationship. I was an orphan once, and I've long considered the Jones family as my second home. Even if I marry Aaron in the future, I am still part of the Jones family. Please don't drive me away!"
Erica's voice was sad and fragile, reaching Edward, who thought of Susanna's years of suffering. He kept refusing and saying, "I'm not driving you away. You can come back if you want to in the future."
Erica asked in confusion. "Edward, can I ask why you suddenly want to terminate the adoption relationship? Is it Just because I'm getting married?"
Erica felt like she was missing something.
During this time, the actions and words of her brothers had become somewhat odd.
Erica had been in Lindwell all this time, trying to sow discord between Aaron and Susanna so they would divorce, allowing her to smoothly marry into the Abbott family as a wealthy lady.
And upon careful reflection, it seemed she hadn't done anything to provoke Edward's displeasure.
Why did they suddenly want to terminate the adoption relationship?
She just couldn't understand!
If she were driven out by the Jones family, she would be just an orphan. How could she then marry into the Abbott family?
Maud had been so kind to her because her current status came from the prestigious Jones family!
Erica couldn't imagine the situation she would face if she lost this status. She can't afford to lose this identity no matter what!
Edward spoke calmly, "Yes, you're getting married, and you won't have to stay at home with grandma all the time, or constantly try to please the family. Your life should start anew."
Tears streamed down Erica's face as she said, "Edward, I don't want to leave, really!"
"I know it is a bit difficult for you to accept immediately, so I'll leave you some time. You can bring up what you need aside from the contract. I would fulfill them all if within my capabilities. That's it for now." Edward said ruthlessly.
The call ended, and Erica glanced at the document in front of her, filled with malice.
After a while, Erica laughed, but her voice had a chilling edge.
She had pacified Maria for so many years, which was ridiculous that she was being told to leave now.
She was merely betrothed to Aaron, and even that was a sham! Losing her title as Miss Jones was unthinkable. She couldn't possibly accept this condition! Erica immediately called her personal secretary. "Go check if Edward found out about the things I did before, and find out where the issue lies!"
She had always hidden things well since childhood.
Only Austin had accidentally discovered her true self once, and since then, Austin's attitude towards her had changed significantly, almost treating her like a stranger.
But just that one incident would only have led Edward to scold her, not demand the termination of the adoption relationship!
There must be something in this matter that she didn't know.
Erica quickly pondered these matters, being very confused and in an extreme panic, especially when she saw the document.
At that moment, she suddenly remembered seeing Susanna getting into Austin's car at the engagement scene in the afternoon.
But Austin never liked answering her calls, especially now when she probably couldn't get any information out of him.
If she angered Austin, he might not come to the engagement scene tomorrow, which could even affect the surgery for Maria later on.
After some thought, Erica sent a text to Dick: [I hope that the designer Susanna can also attend tomorrow's engagement ceremony, to ensure the integrity of the wedding scene.]
She had to figure out the relationship between Susanna and Austin.

On the other hand, Susanna had already arrived at home.
Leaving all the terrible feelings from the hospital behind, she pushed open the door and walked into the house, seeing all six of her brothers in the living room. With not enough space on the couch, they sat on dining chairs, while Edward was on the balcony making a call.
Seeing this scene, Susanna smiled; this was her new life.
The house was filled with a lively atmosphere.
Austin walked up to her. "You came back even later than me. Where did you go?"
