Chapter 389 You're Too Heavy

Susanna freaked out and glanced at the door, spotting Sam with a puzzled look. "Sorry to barge in," Sam blurted out.

She was sure Sam got the wrong idea!

Aaron, looking icy, snapped, "Get out!"

"Alright, alright!"

Sam quickly shut the door and explained from outside, "Don't get the wrong idea, you two. I'm not into that weird stuff! I heard a noise and thought Aaron had fallen, so I barged in. Just remembered I got something urgent to do. I'm outta here."

With that, Sam bolted, not wanting to face Aaron's icy glare again. The bathroom was left in awkward silence.

Susanna couldn't handle it anymore, shoved Aaron away, and dashed out. It was just too cringe!

Soon, the sound of running water filled the bathroom.

Not long after, she saw Aaron leaning on the door, slowly making his way out.

Susanna gave him a once-over, thinking he seemed to be walking just fine.

But just as she was about to roll her eyes, Aaron stumbled and hit the ground.

"Watch out!"

Susanna rushed over to catch him, but she totally underestimated his weight and couldn't hold him up.

They both ended up crashing to the floor.

The floor was hard, no carpet to cushion the fall.

But when Susanna closed her eyes and braced for impact, it didn't hurt as much as she thought. The floor felt kinda soft.

After hearing Aaron's muffled groan, Susanna opened her eyes to see Aaron's face super close, his smooth chin and handsome features right there.

One of his hands was protecting her head, and the other was around her waist.

She hadn't hit the floor but landed on top of him.

Susanna asked, worried. "You okay?"

Aaron gritted his teeth. "What do you think? Comfy lying on top of me?"

Susanna quickly got off him, feeling a bit guilty. "I was just trying to catch you, but you're heavier than you look."

"Blaming me? If you weren't here, I'd have fallen alone, which is better than being squashed."

Susanna felt super guilty.

She quickly said, "I'll go get someone."

"No need!"

"You're in bad shape, why be so stubborn?"

Aaron grabbed her wrist, his gaze intense. "Help me up."

"Are you sure? I can't hold you up. What if you fall again? I might drop you again!"

Aaron's mouth twitched. "I'm pretty important to Lillian right now, so you'd better hope I'm okay."

Susanna had no choice but to help him up. It was like lugging a bag of cement.

Aaron worked with her to stand up, sneaking glances at her, a slight smirk on his lips.

Susanna was too focused on getting him to the hospital bed to notice Aaron's change in expression.

She finally got him to the bed and sighed in relief. "Done."

Her legs were sore, and just as she was about to step back, she accidentally stepped on Aaron's foot.

They both lost their balance again.

This time, she fell hard on the hospital bed, and Aaron's body pressed down on her, pinning her in place!

They were squished together, and she could feel the heat from Aaron's body, which was pretty hot.

Susanna's heart started racing like crazy. She tried to push him away but ended up with her hands on his rock-hard chest.

Aaron's voice came out all raspy. "What are you feeling up for?"

Susanna looked up to explain, but her lips accidentally brushed against his.

Both of them froze.

Susanna's mind went blank. She hadn't meant to kiss Aaron, and it was totally her fault.

She quickly turned her head, her ears burning red, not knowing what to say.

Aaron, seeing her all flustered, suddenly felt a lot better. "Are you blushing?"

Susanna, hearing this, shot back, "It was just an accident. Why would I be shy? It was just awkward!"

"Given our relationship, there's no need to feel awkward."

Hearing Aaron's shameless words, Susanna tried to push him away. "Get off me, your behavior is borderline illegal!"

Aaron didn't budge, looking at her seriously. "You stepped on my foot, causing me to fall on you. Be reasonable!"

"Then get off me!"

"My leg is numb!"

Just then, the door to the hospital room swung open, and a doctor walked in. "Mr. Abbott."

Susanna turned her head to see the doctor standing at the door and immediately covered her face, feeling super embarrassed.

Aaron quickly got up, leaned against the headboard, and looked at the doctor with a stern face. "What is it?"

"Mrs. Maud Abbott is fine, she just fainted."

Aaron calmly replied, "Got it."

The doctor was about to leave but hesitated. "Mr. Abbott, you are scheduled to donate bone marrow tomorrow. I advise against any strenuous activities in the next few days."

Aaron stayed silent.

Susanna, still covering her face, quickly explained after hearing the doctor's words, "It's not what you think. I was just helping him up, and we accidentally fell. We didn't do anything."

The doctor quickly replied, "I understand, but still, be careful!"

The doctor soon left, leaving the two of them alone in the room.

Susanna, feeling super frustrated, sat up from the bed and glared at Aaron, who was leaning against the headboard. In this situation, his shamelessness was truly more impressive than hers!

She said nothing, turned around, and left.

Aaron, seeing her embarrassed and angry look, had a hint of a smile in his eyes. Finally, he saw her showing her true emotions.

After leaving the room, Susanna touched her face, feeling the lingering warmth.

She touched her lips, still thinking about the accidental kiss, surprised by how warm his lips were.

And Aaron's body was actually quite nice; at least the feel of it didn't lie.

"Mommy, your face is red."

Susanna quickly put her hand down. "I must have gotten too hot walking up the stairs. Lillian, don't mind what that woman said earlier."

"Mommy, is that woman Daddy's mother?"

Susanna nodded. "Yes, by relationship, Mrs. Maud Abbott is your grandmother."

"But she doesn't like me."

Kids pick up on these things. Susanna looked at Lillian. "You don't need her to like you. You have so many people around you who love you!"

Lillian, always carefree, quickly forgot about it.

Seeing that Lillian was really unaffected, Susanna felt relieved. If Maud's words had messed with Lillian's head, she wouldn't have let it go.

The next day, Susanna was woken up early by her assistant. "Ms. Jones, We've got a problem."
