Chapter 236 We Are in a Proper Marital Relationship

Susanna glanced at her agitated classmate and said, "Someone's out to smear me."

Before Susanna could say more, her classmate cut in, "Save your excuses.. We've heard the rumors about you getting a boost from some guy. With these credits tied to our graduation, it's probably best to let it go. You've got other paths to take, no need to fight us on this."

Just then, Wendy burst in. "What are you doing? This has nothing to do with Susanna. Someone's jealous and did this on purpose. Susanna's skills and talents are obvious to everyone. She earned everything on her own."

"What skills and talents? More like her skill at pleasing men."

"We need a clear explanation."

Feeling grateful for Wendy's support, Susanna looked around and declared, "I'll call the cops if I have to. Let's get some real detectives on this."

Wendy, hearing Susanna mention the police, got a bit scared and quickly said, "Actually, we can go straight to the school administration to sort this out."

"Yeah, let's go to the principal and let him handle it."

Susanna had no objections; she wasn't afraid.

As the group decided to take it to the principal, Wendy felt a twinge of nerves. The thought of the principal uncovering the whistleblower made her uneasy. But she felt relieved, remembering she sent the report anonymously.

They headed to the principal's office.

The principal had just heard about the forum incident and couldn't believe someone accused Susanna of relying on a man for her honors. It was absurd!

Seeing Susanna, the principal spoke in a somewhat flattering tone, "Susanna, don't worry. I'll get to the bottom of this."

Susanna replied calmly, "Okay."

Watching the principal's positive response, Wendy felt a pang of envy. In a slightly calculated move, she quipped, "See, Susanna? I always knew the school had your back."

A nearby classmate was unhappy and chimed in, "Principal, are you being nice to Susanna because of the man behind her? That's unfair to us."

"Exactly, it's totally unfair!"

The principal felt a headache coming on. "So how do you want to resolve this?"

"We demand fairness. Remove Susanna's scholarship!"

"Yeah, and delay her graduation. She took a long leave of absence. Why should she graduate just like that?"

Susanna couldn't stay silent. "I can give up the scholarship, but I can graduate because I've earned enough credits. It's fair and legal!"

"No, we don't agree! Susanna is only graduating because of her relationship with a wealthy man. If we took such a long leave, we wouldn't have a chance to come back! Why should you get a scholarship?"

Wendy's eyes flashed with satisfaction hearing this.

Susanna took a deep breath. "Who said I rely on an improper relationship with a man?"

"Isn't it true? What's your relationship with Mr. Abbott from the Abbott Group?"

"Susanna, don't tell us you're just friends. What kind of friendship does a college girl have with a married man? Do you think we're clueless?"

Susanna crossed her arms. "Sorry, but my relationship with Mr. Abbott isn't just a normal friendship."

"So you're admitting to an improper relationship with Mr. Abbott?"

That was the breaking point for the principal. "Improper relationship?" The principal scoffed. "What on earth are you kids learning these days? Susanna and Mr. Abbott have a completely above-board, legitimate relationship!"

"Principal, Susanna admitted it. Stop explaining. What kind of relationship between a man and a woman can be legitimate?"

"A marriage, does that count as legitimate?" Aaron's deep, icy voice resonated from the doorway, his towering presence commanding attention.

Aaron, dressed in a high-end suit, stood there, exuding an overwhelming presence, completely out of place in the office.

The office fell silent.

Susanna didn't expect him to show up at this moment.

Aaron walked in with a cold expression, came to her side, and asked softly, "Were you wronged?"

Susanna pursed her lips. "Just a little misunderstanding."

The next second, Aaron placed his hand on her shoulder, pulling her into his arms. With a commanding presence, he addressed the classmates assertively, "My wife prefers to keep a low profile and avoid unnecessary attention. Unfortunately, some baseless rumors have caused undue speculation about her. Today, I'm here to set the record straight. Susanna is my wife."

After Aaron's explanation, everyone was shocked. The classmates who had troubled Susanna looked ashamed when they realized she was Mrs. Abbott.

Wendy's expression soured, her legs turning to jelly. She never fathomed Susanna was Mrs. Abbott. How could she have been so careless?

Erica, who had kept quiet, left Wendy feeling deceived, as she had revealed nothing beforehand.

At this moment, the principal stepped forward and said, "See, I told you it was a misunderstanding, but you didn't believe me. Now, apologize to Susanna and seek her forgiveness."

The classmates exchanged glances and swiftly apologized, “Susanna, we were misled by the forum content and let our emotions run wild. Please forgive us.”

“Yeah, Susanna, we had no idea you were Mrs. Abbott. You're so modest. That shady anonymous reporter is entirely to blame for this mess. Despicable.”

"Exactly, Principal, you must find that anonymous reporter. That person is too sinister, deliberately misleading us."

Hearing their apologies, Susanna softened her tone. "I accept your apologies, but I don't want my identity as Mrs. Abbott to be known for now. I hope you can keep it a secret."

"Don't worry, we won't tell anyone."

The principal quickly waved his hand. "Alright, thanks to Susanna's kindness, you can all leave now."

At this moment, Wendy also wanted to slip away but was stopped by the bodyguard at the door.

Wendy turned back nervously. "Susanna, I suddenly have a stomachache and need to go to the bathroom."

Susanna didn't understand why Aaron stopped Wendy, but Aaron leaned down and said, "She's the anonymous reporter."
