Chapter 344 Being a Bad Woman Feels Pretty Good

Susanna had dug into the Abbott family dirt but only found out that Maria was sick. She couldn't figure out why Maria ended up in a vegetative state, though.

The only thing she nailed down was that Maria had an accident four years ago, right when she bailed on the Abbott family. She felt there had to be some kind of link between the two.

Elaine, still buzzing from scoring that designer bag, let her guard down for a sec. "It was Aaron's nasty ex-wife who did this to my grandma. She was getting better after surgery, but then things went south."

When Susanna heard "nasty ex-wife," her eyes got icy. "Oh really? Spill the tea, how did that ex-wife mess Maria up like this?"

Elaine was about to dish but then saw the face that looked just like Susanna's. She clammed up, guilt flickering in her eyes. It was like she was talking to Susanna herself.

But Elaine wasn't about to give up that exclusive limited-edition bag she almost had in the bag. With a forced grin, she said, "Nova, why are you so nosy about old stuff?"

She thought, 'Could Nova actually be Susanna? Nah, can't be. Susanna's supposed to be dead, and no one dares to mention her name in front of Aaron.'

Susanna smirked and said, "Because Mr. Abbott said his ex-wife looked a lot like me, so I got curious about their past."

Elaine let out a sigh of relief. That made sense. This generous Nova couldn't be Susanna. Vivian rushed into the hospital and bolted out of the elevator. Spotting Elaine with Nova, she realized the box with the special meds was missing. Panic hit her, and she blurted out, "Elaine!"

"Vivian, you're back too. Did you snag the Black Pearl series shoes I asked for in Radiant Valley?"

Vivian's smile was a bit strained. "Elaine, I checked, but they didn't have your size, so I came back empty-handed."

Elaine's smile vanished at this news.

Seeing this, Susanna chimed in, "Elaine, you were talking about the DivineDynasty Black Pearl series shoes, right? What size do you wear?"

Elaine's eyes lit up. "I'm a size 7."

Susanna pretended to be bummed and sighed, "What a shame, I bought size 6 in Radiant Valley. You probably can't wear them. Otherwise, I would've given them to you."

"Would you really give them to me?" Elaine quickly changed her tune and exclaimed, "Ms. Ramirez, honestly, I can fit into sizes 6 to 7. My size isn't set in stone. I've heard this line runs large, so they might fit me, right?"

Seeing Elaine's greedy look, Susanna's eyes showed a hint of mockery. Elaine was pretty vain.

The DivineDynasty Black Pearl series shoes didn't run large; they actually ran a bit small. But that worked in her favor. As they say, money can solve most problems.

Susanna generously said, "Sure, I just bought the shoes in Radiant Valley and only tried them on once. I haven't worn them yet. Hope you don't mind, Elaine."

"I don't mind. Nova, you're so good to me." Elaine's eyes sparkled with joy. With the Black Pearl shoes almost hers and the designer bag on the horizon, she was ready to show off to those who had doubted her. This time, she was determined to make a lasting impression!

Vivian, seeing Elaine's face light up, couldn't help but butt in, "Elaine, those shoes run small. You probably can't wear them."

Elaine, practically bouncing with excitement, shot back, "Vivian, I've been eyeing these shoes forever. I know all about them. You must be wrong."

Whether they ran big or small, she was dead set on getting them. No way was Vivian gonna mess up her plan now.

Vivian, knowing how vain Elaine was, didn't want Nova to get the upper hand. She pulled Elaine aside and whispered, "Elaine, why are you so quick to take stuff from Nova? Haven't you noticed she looks just like someone else?" 'Is Elaine blind?' Vivian thought.

Elaine's face got a bit weird. "I know, Nova looks like Susanna, but they can't be the same person. It's just a coincidence."

"Elaine, you're too naive. You don't know how sneaky Nova is. She might be Susanna back for revenge."

Elaine paused, her face uncertain. "It can't be. They just look alike."

If it were Susanna, she wouldn't be giving away these luxury items.

Seeing Elaine and Vivian whispering, Susanna smiled at Elaine and said, "Elaine, I've already asked my assistant to bring the bag and shoes over. You can just pick them up later."

"Really? Nova, you're the best." Elaine practically skipped over to Susanna, grinning ear to ear.

Vivian, not backing down, said harshly, "Ms. Ramirez, this is your first time meeting Elaine today. Showering her with fancy stuff out of nowhere is kinda sus, you know? People might think you've got some hidden agenda."

Elaine felt a bit awkward hearing this and asked tentatively, "Yeah, Nova, why are you so good to me? Could there be some ulterior motive?"

Susanna chuckled, "Elaine, I'm just giving away stuff I never used. Does that really count as being overly nice? You're just too trusting and easily impressed."

Elaine's silence was telling as she shot Vivian a glare, clearly embarrassed. As an Abbott family heiress, she couldn't believe she felt awkward over a couple of fancy gifts.

Vivian, still not giving up, said, "Elaine, I'm just looking out for you."

Susanna laughed, "Elaine, what she's doing is understandable. But I have plenty of unused bags, shoes, and clothes. I don't have many close friends to share them with. I really liked meeting you today, so I thought you might enjoy this bag and shoes. If it's not cool with you, let's just forget about it."

"No, Nova, there's nothing wrong. I like you too. I don't have many good friends. Now that I have a sister to share these things with, I'm very happy."

Elaine was terrified of losing the bag and shoes, especially after bragging about them in her group. If she couldn't show them off now, she'd definitely get mocked by those women.

Susanna smirked and glanced at Vivian, saying, "But this will make people think I have a hidden agenda, and that's kinda a hassle for me."

"Nova, you don't have to worry. Vivian comes from a modest background; she's not familiar with the ways of the wealthy," said Elaine.

After Elaine's remark, Susanna couldn't help but notice the darkening expression on Vivian's face. It brought a sense of satisfaction to her.
