Chapter 557 Aaron Attracted Another Wave of Attention

Susanna's eyes widened in surprise when Brian denied it. "Then who bought it?" From their earlier chat, it seemed like Brian was the one who got the telescope, but the color was off, so it couldn't be him.

She was also curious about who picked the telescope that Charles ended up with. But after everyone checked, it looked like none of them did.

Edward glanced at Aviana. "Aviana, did you get the telescope for Charles?"

Aviana replied, "Nope, I saw you all buying one, so I wasn't gonna be that childish and buy another one just to compete. I got something else."

Susanna shrugged. "I didn't get a telescope for Charles either." She knew they were all trying to get one for Charles and heard he liked them, but she wasn't about to join that silly competition.

Susanna said, "Then it's weird. Who sent the telescope that Charles accepted?"

"Maybe a relative or a friend?" Aviana quickly asked the butler, wanting to know who sent the telescope.

The butler thought for a moment and said, "Isn't this the telescope you ordered? I saw someone deliver it, and it's a big brand. Your previous telescopes were also delivered directly by the company, so I thought it was yours and didn't ask much. After checking it and finding no issues, I placed it in his room."

Edward frowned. "Then who sent it?" Damn, if it weren't for this mysterious telescope, Charles would have kept the one he bought. "This is odd. Maybe someone found out and tried to get on the Jones Family's good side."

Susanna nodded. That seemed like the only logical explanation. Otherwise, who would spend so much on such an expensive, limited-edition telescope? She hadn't seen this one in the latest models.

Brian suddenly handed his phone to Susanna. "Is this the one you're talking about?"

Susanna glanced at it and quickly nodded. "Yeah, that's the one. What's special about it?"

Brian's expression turned complicated. This telescope was special because of its high configuration. Only three were made, and it was a professional instrument used by scientists.

Now, this telescope was so rare that one couldn't buy it even if they had the money. It was basically a collector's item.

Austin chimed in, "I think I've heard about this. Two of them were bought by the national research institute, and the other was privately collected by a wealthy person from Lindwell."

Susanna said in surprise, "That's strange. Edward, do we have any business dealings or connections with that wealthy person from Lindwell?"

Edward looked at the photo of the wealthy person and shook his head. "Nope."

"Then who would send such a telescope?" Such an expensive item couldn't be easily bought, let alone sent without leaving a name.

At that moment, a name popped into Susanna's head. Could it be Aaron? Otherwise, how could it be such a coincidence that the telescope bought by the wealthy person from Lindwell ended up here? She used the fruit she was holding to cover her awkwardness.

Everyone present wasn't a fool and seemed to have thought of something. After all, besides that annoying Aaron, who else from Lindwell had the capability to make such a grand gesture?

Edward looked at Susanna. "Susanna, who do you think sent this telescope?"

Susanna stayed quiet. But just then, Charles came downstairs, holding hands with Lillian.

Aviana saw them and immediately smiled. "Hey Charles, Lillian. Come and sit down."

Susanna took the chance to stand up and greet them, dodging Edward's question. She hadn't expected Aaron to pull such a stunt. If he angered Edward, he wouldn't be able to stay in Novaria. If Edward got mad, he wouldn't show Owen any mercy.

Edward squinted his eyes. He already had a guess in his mind. Austin whispered, "Edward, Aaron seems to still be in Novaria."

Brian said, "Why not just get rid of him?"

Edward's tone was icy. "I'll have a talk with him." No matter what, this needed to be sorted out.

Arthur spoke up. "I think Susanna and Michael are a good match. Why not push their relationship forward?"

Edward nodded. "I think so too." After watching for years, he still thought Michael was the best choice.

"Wait, Michael is coming over for dinner. Let's ask him first. After all, marrying Susanna won't be easy."

Aviana listened without objecting, also thinking Michael was a good choice. But sometimes, feelings couldn't be forced.

The Jones Family was bustling. After finishing her meal early, Lillian took out her smartwatch and saw an unread message.

Lillian glanced at them guiltily, finding an excuse, and ran to the side to reply to the voice message quietly, "Just finished dinner. Charles received a lot of gifts."

"Who are you messaging?" Charles came over to Lillian, scaring her into shrinking her neck. She replied, "Nothing."

"Hand it over." Charles extended his hand, and Lillian obediently handed over her smartwatch. "Don't tell Mommy."

Charles looked at the chat history and roughly guessed who it was. He looked at Lillian. "Why are you giving him updates?"

Lillian lowered her head guiltily. "We're just chatting."

"Did you forget what he did to Mommy?"

Lillian nodded. "Mommy said it's an adult matter, but I won't forgive him easily. He has to apologize to Mommy properly."

Charles glared at Lillian and then said, "Don't get your hopes up. Mommy will soon be engaged to Michael."

"Really?" Lillian glanced at Michael, who was eating at the table. If it were another man, she might be unhappy. But if it were Michael, it seemed okay.

Charles coolly said, "Just tell him that."
