Chapter 293 Who Brings Six Brothers as Bodyguards to a Party?
The black stretch Lincoln rolled up on the lawn, and out stepped six tall, dashing dudes. Decked out in black tailcoats and white gloves, they looked like they just walked out of a comic book.
Everyone on this side was whispering, "Who are these six hotties?"
"Hey, isn't that guy Justin, the famous actor from Novaria? The other one seems familiar too. Are they from the Jones family in Novaria?"
"More importantly, who’s still in the car? I mean, having six handsome guys waiting on you, that's some serious VIP treatment."
"Could that be someone from the Jones family in Novaria? I heard Aaron was going to get engaged to the Jones family heir after his divorce. Looks like the rumors were true."
Everyone was buzzing, and someone turned to Maud. "Congrats, is there something big going on between the Abbott family and the Jones family from Novaria?"
"Yeah, haven't you always hated that poor daughter-in-law of yours? Now you can finally swap her out for an heir!"
Maud was left speechless and embarrassed. Lately, she’d been feeling pretty down and had to tiptoe around Maria.
Who would've thought Susanna would become the Jones family heir, and Erica turned out to be a total fraud?
Aaron stood his ground, eyes locked on the stretch Lincoln, his gaze intense and unyielding.
The car door opened, and out stepped a pair of stunning diamond high heels, revealing slender calves. The white hem of a dress fluttered gracefully as Susanna emerged.
Bending elegantly to step out of the car, she lifted her gaze to find her six brothers extending their arms, looking like chivalrous knights ready to serve.
Taking Edward's arm, she stood tall, scanning the guests, her eyes naturally landing on Aaron, who stood at the center of the crowd.
Today, he was rocking an off-white suit, looking all elegant and handsome. It seemed to be the suit she had picked out for him before, thinking he had too many dark outfits and would look way younger in a lighter color.
Even though he initially hated it, saying he’d never wear it, there he was, wearing the very suit she had chosen for him.
Susanna gave Aaron a quick glance before confidently walking with Edward towards the guests, unfazed by the puzzled looks she got.
Many of the guests at the banquet had seen her before, but back then, she was unrecognized by the Abbott family and never publicly acknowledged her true identity.
During previous Abbott family banquets, whenever Maria was absent, Susanna was pushed to the background or reduced to a mere server, attending to tea and water needs at the gatherings.
At that moment, someone exclaimed, "Isn't that Susanna?"
Hearing someone call her name, Susanna turned, only to see Lvy and Sienna. She didn't expect Lvy and Sienna to have such strong nerves, showing up at the banquet even after being kicked out.
Susanna smirked, "What's up?"
Lvy, seeing Susanna's outfit, was super jealous and said sarcastically, "Susanna, I almost didn't recognize you in that getup today. Don't think that changing into a brand name can cover up your past."
"What am I covering up? You think every time you hit a party, you gotta change your look like you and your mom?" Susanna shot back.
As soon as Susanna finished, mocking voices rippled through the crowd. Everyone knew Lvy and Sienna's dirty little secret, but out of respect for Maria, no one had ever called them out.
Lvy's face twisted in anger as she turned to Maud, shouting, "Can you believe it? Susanna, the one booted from the Abbott family, is now flashing a DivineDynasty super VIP card, blowing cash on bling she can't afford. It's obvious she's got some sugar daddy!"
Sienna nodded, backing her up. "Yeah, we saw Susanna using that super VIP card at the mall. I mean, even Maud doesn't have one."
Maud felt a wave of embarrassment wash over her. How many more times would they rub it in that she didn't have a DivineDynasty super VIP card? Wasn't this mess humiliating enough?
The next second, Edward's face darkened, glaring daggers at Lvy and Sienna. "Someone, shut these women up! Since they talk so dirty, they must not have brushed their teeth today. Let's do them a favor!"
Susanna's brothers stepped up, each grabbing one of the women, while another snatched a nearby champagne bottle, pouring it down Lvy and Sienna's throats. At first, they struggled and screamed for help, but soon they were too weak to resist and had to keep drinking!
The guests nearby were all stunned.
Sensing things were getting out of hand, Maud quickly stepped in, "Alright, that's enough. If you keep making them drink like that, they might end up puking their guts out."
Edward still had a cold look, completely ignoring Maud, not giving her any respect.
Maud could only turn to Susanna. "What do you think? After all, this is Maria's banquet. It wouldn't be good if something bad happened, right?"
Susanna then looked at Edward. "Edward, let it go."
"Why?" Edward's expression was icy. "Susanna, you stayed in the Abbott family for three years and went through so much. There might be people here who talked behind your back and bullied you. Tell me who they are, and I'll deal with them for you!"
After Edward finished speaking, another wealthy lady chimed in, "How dare you! This is the Abbott family! Do you know what it means to stand up for Susanna here, especially after she was kicked out? What's your relationship?"
Edward's eyes were sharp as he looked over. "I'm her brother!"
"Brother? Isn't Susanna an orphan?" The wealthy lady snorted, "I heard she has adoptive parents who are dirt poor. You spent a lot of money on your outfits today, but no matter how much you try, Susanna can never come back to the Abbott family!"
Maud quickly stopped her. "Cressida, stop talking."
"I'm gonna speak my mind. A woman like Susanna, who’s greedy for vanity, was lucky to marry into the Abbott family. She should've taken the money and left quietly after the divorce. What else does she want here?" Cressida continued.
Just as Susanna was about to say something, she saw Aviana roll up her sleeves and slap Cressida!
The whole place went dead silent.
Cressida screamed, "How dare you hit me?"
"I hit you, you witch! Do you think you can bully Susanna whenever you want?" Aviana stood with her hands on her hips, full of fire. "Susanna is the princess of the Jones family of Novaria!"
