Chapter 329 A Special Woman in Aaron's Heart
After Susanna finished talking, she noticed a tiny shift in Vivian's face—a little smile flickered in her eyes. Susanna knew she couldn't drop her guard around Vivian, especially with Vivian's history of messing with Lillian. With Lillian getting all cozy with Aaron, Susanna had to make sure no one got in the way.
Aaron frowned and shot a look at Vivian. "What are you doing here?"
Vivian forced a weak smile. "Aaron, I'm mostly okay today, just a little banged up. Thought a walk and some breakfast might help."
Susanna glanced over and said, "I'll take this to Lillian first."
She walked up to Lillian. "Eat this."
Lillian asked, looking worried, "Mommy, is the bad woman causing trouble again?"
"Don't worry, I know how to handle bad women."
After setting down the tray, Susanna strutted in her high heels towards the dining area, heading straight for Vivian. "Ms. Nguyen, guys don't dig this kind of submissive act."
Vivian's eyes darkened, and she snapped back, "You mean being shameless and throwing yourself at him like you?"
Susanna laughed, "Ms. Nguyen, you're a great actress. Ever thought about Hollywood?"
"Don't get too cocky. Aaron won't choose you. There's someone he's been holding onto for years, someone he hasn't forgotten," Vivian shot back.
Susanna raised an eyebrow, asking, "Tell me, what kind of woman is she?"
She had felt that Aaron was acting weird yesterday. No guy would turn down what she offered. It had to be because he had someone else in his heart.
Vivian stared at the face in front of her, so eerily similar to Susanna's that she felt a surge of anger. "Why should I tell you?" she said coldly. "If you're so curious, why don't you ask him yourself?"
Susanna stood still, watching Vivian walk towards Aaron with a pitiful and innocent expression. Why did she suddenly feel a bit uncomfortable?
She casually picked up a bowl of soup and placed it on a tray, striding towards Vivian with a bright smile. "Mr. Abbott!"
Vivian's smile froze when she heard the voice from behind. 'How did Nova catch up?' She thought, seething.
When Susanna reached Vivian, she deliberately twisted her ankle, causing the soup to spill.
"Watch out!" Aaron stepped forward to catch Susanna, preventing her from falling.
Susanna clung tightly to Aaron's arm. "That scared me. I almost slipped. If Mr. Abbott hadn't caught me in time, it would have been bad," she said with a feigned air of innocence.
"Aaron!" Vivian's voice was sharp as she clung to the table, nearly falling again.
Vivian stood there, her dress drenched in hot chicken soup, feeling a mix of disbelief and betrayal. She gazed at Susanna and Aaron, who were huddled together, her eyes rimmed with red from both the heat and her unspoken hurt. Why had he chosen to save Nova instead of her?
Seeing Vivian in such a sorry state, Aaron's voice was calm. "Are you okay?"
Vivian's eyes lit up with surprise, and she said pitifully, "The soup is so hot, I might be burned. I don't know what I did to offend Ms. Ramirez. Yesterday she pushed me down the stairs, and just now she deliberately spilled soup on me!"
"Ms. Nguyen, I'm really sorry. The floor was too slippery, and I accidentally twisted my ankle. If Mr. Abbott hadn't caught me in time, I would have been in the same situation as you. You can't blame me!" Susanna said, all innocent-like, making Vivian even more pissed.
Vivian wasn't backing down. "The floor isn't slippery at all! You did it on purpose!"
Susanna immediately called over the restaurant manager. "The floor is too slippery. I almost fell just now. Explain it to Ms. Nguyen."
The manager quickly turned to Vivian. "I'm sorry, it's been raining these days, and the floor is a bit damp. Ms. Nguyen, I'll get a doctor for you right away. We will take full responsibility."
Vivian was left speechless. She hadn't expected the manager to take the blame so fast, leaving her with no choice but to back off.
Susanna looked at her with a half-smile. "Ms. Nguyen, you should see a doctor quickly. You don't want to leave any scars, do you?"
Vivian instinctively looked at Aaron, still hoping he'd stand up for her.
Aaron's expression was cold. "Go see the doctor."
The light in Vivian's eyes dimmed instantly. Ever since this Nova showed up, her status in Aaron's heart had dropped. If it were before, Aaron would have spoken up for her.
Susanna stood next to Aaron and waved at Vivian. "Bye-bye."
Vivian was so mad she could've ground her teeth to dust. She had planned to play the victim, but this Nova had stolen her thunder!
Seeing Vivian's unwilling expression, Susanna felt delighted.
"Feeling happy?"
Hearing this, Susanna turned to look at him. "What do you mean, Mr. Abbott? I almost fell just now. It was really scary."
Aaron didn't call her out. He had to admit, aside from looking like Susanna, Nova had nothing in common with her!
When Susanna returned with more food, she saw Lillian and Sam huddled together, seemingly playing a game.
Lillian looked up at her. "Mommy, you're back."
Susanna glanced briefly at Sam without acknowledging him. Instead, she focused on Lillian's plate, remarking, "Well done, you finished everything."
Lillian gave a guilty smile and said, "Mommy, I'm going to the amusement park with Sam. You and Uncle Aaron can enjoy your meal in peace."
Susanna picked up on Lillian's thoughtful gesture of giving her some alone time. She glanced over at Sam and gently inquired, "Lillian, are you sure about this?"
"I'll be very good."
Sam added, "I'll watch over her with the bodyguards."
"Alright, but if anything happens to Lillian, I'll kill you," said Susanna.
"No problem." Sam immediately took Lillian out of the restaurant and secretly sent Aaron a message: [Aaron, risking my life 2 give u some alone time. GL!]
Susanna watched Sam and Lillian leave, feeling a bit strange.
Aaron said calmly, "You have to give them some time together."
Susanna replied coldly, "There's no need."
"Ms. Ramirez, when did you meet Sam?"
Susanna rested her chin on her hand as she gazed at him intently. "Mr. Abbott, if you're curious about me, let me pose a question to you: Is there a special woman from your past who still holds a place in your heart?"
