Chapter 542 Susanna Is Definitely Not the Boss
Vivian heard Elaine sticking up for her, but she kept her face icy.
She was just on the same team as Elaine for now.
As soon as those words were out, people around them started chatting.
The Velvet Sky Ballroom Hotel had popped up out of nowhere and quickly became the go-to fancy hotel in Novaria. Everyone wanted to book it, making it the top spot for the rich to throw their parties.
But the owner of the Velvet Sky Ballroom was always a mystery. They personally designed all the banquet venues, and each new theme blew everyone away, setting fashion trends and becoming super popular.
Over the years, there were tons of rumors about the owner.
But one thing was clear: it had something to do with the Jones Family. After all, Edward was the first to invest in the Velvet Sky Ballroom.
Elaine heard the buzz around her, and it was obvious everyone was dying to know who owned the Velvet Sky Ballroom.
"I heard the owner of the Velvet Sky Ballroom is a guy?"
"Yeah, I heard that too. Someone said they saw him. He's not young, and he's really nice."
Vivian's lips twisted into a cold smile, "Ms. Jones, since you said that, prove it. Everyone here has a reputation. If you're lying, it won't look good for the Jones Family."
Elaine added more fuel to the fire, "Where you come from says it all. Susanna, you were an orphan and just came back to the Jones Family. Why do you still like to lie?"
Vivian shot Elaine a glare, knowing she was just trying to mock her.
Susanna stood there calmly, not looking worried at all, and took everyone's suspicion head-on.
She didn't plan to hide her identity when she told Elaine and Vivian she owned the Velvet Sky Ballroom.
It didn't matter if people found out now or later; she just couldn't stand their act.
Since they wanted to be embarrassed, she'd make sure it happened today.
Amelia stayed quiet, ready to enjoy the show.
She believed Susanna was the real owner of the Velvet Sky Ballroom, and Elaine and Vivian were just setting themselves up for a fall.
Owen looked at Susanna, surprised, and asked, "Ms. Jones, what's going on? Do you know the owner of the Velvet Sky Ballroom?"
Elaine quickly jumped in, "I think she's only met the owner a few times and doesn't really know him. She's just pretending because the owner is low-key. Earlier, when the general manager of the Velvet Sky Ballroom greeted Maud, he said he didn't know Susanna, so she's definitely lying."
Amelia immediately explained, "That's because the general manager is new and hasn't met Susanna yet."
Vivian chimed in, "That's ridiculous. How can a general manager not know what their own boss looks like? Who would believe that?"
Elaine quickly jumped in, "Exactly. Plus, that hotel is about to team up with our Abbott Family. There's no way we got the owner wrong. Susanna is definitely not the owner."
Seeing Elaine's confidence, Susanna smirked, "Are you that sure? Have you even met the owner of the Velvet Sky Ballroom?"
"No, I haven't."
Susanna laughed, "You haven't even met him, and yet you're so sure?"
Elaine, not wanting to back down, shot back, "But I will meet him soon. Our families are about to team up, so we'll be seeing each other a lot."
Susanna sneered, "What makes you so confident that the Velvet Sky Ballroom will definitely team up with the Abbott Family?"
Elaine said, "I said so. Our family came to Novaria specifically to secure this deal. Right, Maud?"
Maud nodded, "That's right. And whether or not we team up, Ms. Jones, you don't get to decide."
Susanna's eyes sharpened, "Actually, I do get to decide who the Velvet Sky Ballroom teams up with, not you."
Maud's face froze, "What arrogance!"
"Since I'm the owner, I decide who the hotel teams up with. Besides, there are plenty of great potential partners here today, not just the Abbott Family." Susanna's demeanor shifted, exuding the aura of someone in charge.
Maud felt humiliated.
Elaine loudly said, "Susanna, stop bragging. Just saying you're the owner of the Velvet Sky Ballroom doesn't make it true."
"Who is the owner of the Velvet Sky Ballroom?" As soon as Elaine finished speaking, the crowd parted, and Aaron walked in from outside.
Aaron, dressed in a sharp black suit, stood out with his handsome and chiseled features.
He immediately spotted Susanna and instinctively walked towards her.
He hadn't expected to see Susanna at today's banquet. After the last hacker incident, Charles had cut ties with him.
After Aaron appeared, the room fell silent.
Aaron stood in front of Susanna, his previously cold gaze now cautious, afraid of offending her.
Now, he treated Susanna with utmost care, as if she were fragile.
Susanna looked up at Aaron, finding him increasingly annoying.
The Abbott Family members were indeed all detestable.
Aaron sensed Susanna's displeasure and immediately began to reflect, wondering if he had offended her recently.
Just as Aaron was about to say something, Vivian stepped forward and said, "Aaron, long time no see."
Vivian adjusted her designer dress and slightly turned her head to show her best side.
She was no longer the ordinary girl she once was, wanting Aaron to see her new self.
Susanna noticed Vivian's behavior and snorted coldly.
Did Vivian really think she could mess around with Aaron like this?
Susanna placed her hands in front of her, her expression indifferent.
Seeing no reaction from Aaron, Vivian grabbed his arm, saying, "Aaron, did you hear me?"
Aaron took a step back and coldly said, "I'm not familiar with you."
