Chapter 546 Vivian's Jealous Expression
Vivian's face went dark.
Seeing Susanna, the girl she always thought was beneath her, now so successful, really got under her skin.
Earlier, she had made a fool of herself, accusing Susanna of lying, but now she was the real joke.
She had been dreaming of hosting Ramond's birthday bash at Velvet Sky Ballroom. Now, she felt like a complete idiot.
She always bragged about throwing parties at Velvet Sky Ballroom, but turns out, Susanna owned the place!
This kind of humiliation was a tough pill to swallow.
Susanna turned to the acting general manager and said, "This isn't the place to discuss your issues."
"Ms. Jones, please forgive me this once. I just got this job and didn't recognize you, that's why I was so rude."
Susanna snapped, "Stop guilt-tripping me. I didn't fire you for failing to recognize me, but for telling guests you could mess with reservations. That's something I can't tolerate."
The acting general manager looked mortified.
Susanna then glanced at Elaine and Maud, whose faces were shifting like they did when they found out she was a real Jones Family member years ago.
Five years later, and they hadn't changed a bit.
Susanna gave them a half-smile, and neither said a word.
Elaine quickly looked down at her wound, pretending to be oblivious to avoid everyone's stares.
But Maud wasn't so lucky. She could feel everyone's eyes on her.
She never expected Susanna to own Velvet Sky Ballroom!
It was like she had a lump in her throat she couldn't swallow or spit out.
She had just been bragging about Velvet Sky Ballroom's upcoming deal with the Abbott Family, even planning to book a party there.
The worst part was she had boasted right in front of Susanna, making herself look like a fool.
She always looked down on Susanna, but now Susanna owned Velvet Sky Ballroom. Who knew how she was laughing at her inside.
Amelia chimed in, "Maud, you clearly don't know Susanna well. No wonder she doesn't get along with the Abbott Family. Since leaving your family, she's been getting more impressive every day."
Maud's face turned red, and the guests started praising Susanna.
"Yeah, who would've thought she was so talented, designing such beautiful themes. If someone like her could be my daughter-in-law, I'd be over the moon."
"Hey, I wonder what Ms. Jones's criteria for a partner are. She's so amazing. If she could be my daughter-in-law, I'd treat her like a queen."
Maud's face got even redder.
These people were clearly mocking her.
Susanna then looked at Maud, raised an eyebrow, and said, "I've always said the reservation rules at Velvet Sky Ballroom can't be changed for anyone. Do you believe me now?"
Maud's mouth moved for a while before she finally managed to say, "It's not like I wanted to book the hotel anyway, so what's it to me?"
Elaine, trying to blend into the background, got noticed again.
She looked up at Susanna, guilt written all over her face, and stammered, "I just heard our families were going to collaborate. Can't you make an exception for the sake of our history?"
She just wanted to throw a party. Susanna could easily make it happen, so why wouldn't she?
Susanna sneered, "History? We don't have one. Even if we did, I wouldn't break our company's rules for you."
Elaine's face looked like she had been slapped. She felt humiliated and snapped, "What do you mean by that? Who do you think you are? Who cares about your Velvet Sky Ballroom?"
Aaron looked straight at Elaine and said, "You, who have never contributed anything, have no right to talk like that."
"Aaron, how can you say that in front of everyone?" Elaine stomped her foot in anger, looking around. How could she marry well if her family embarrassed her like this on a blind date?
"What? Did I say anything wrong? Starting today, your credit card is canceled. You will have to cover your own expenses. The family won't support a freeloader."
"You can't do this. You promised my Dad you'd take care of me."
Aaron said, "I promised to take care of you until you became an adult. I didn't say I'd take care of you for life. If you talk back again, I'll have you move out of the Abbott Family immediately."
Elaine immediately shut her mouth. Aaron frowned and said, "What are you standing there for? Hurry up and apologize to Susanna."
"Why should I apologize to her?"
"Why? Do I need to remind you? Who was bragging that Susanna was lying? Now the truth is out. She owns Velvet Sky Ballroom. What else do you have to say?"
Elaine was clearly in the wrong, but she didn't want to apologize. She then looked at Vivian and said, "I'm not the only one who said it. Didn't she say it too? She hasn't apologized."
Vivian was still in shock, unable to accept the truth.
She had always looked down on Susanna, who now made her feel like a failure, and she couldn't hide her jealousy.
Owen looked at Vivian, very dissatisfied, and said, "What are you standing there for? Hurry up and apologize to Ms. Jones. If you don't know anything, don't comment. You've embarrassed us and made people think we're rude."
"But I'm not the only one who said it," Vivian protested.
Owen stepped forward with a cold face and whispered in Vivian's ear, "You don't have to apologize, but starting today, you're no longer part of the Richardson Family."
"But Dad, what about Ramond?"
"You can take him and get out."
Vivian finally showed a look of fear. If she left the Richardson Family, she would be nothing.
She didn't want to go back to her old life of poverty; she'd had enough of it.
Even though Vivian was unwilling, she could only look at Susanna with eyes full of resentment.
