Chapter 520 Pacifying Children is Also an Art

Susanna came back to the Jones Mansion with a balloon in her hand.

Aviana grinned at her, "Hey Susanna, is that for Lillian?"

Susanna felt a twinge of guilt seeing Aviana.

She had just met up with Aaron and almost got snapped by paparazzi. Luckily, she noticed in time; otherwise, it would be all over the news tomorrow. How would she explain that?

Susanna hesitated and said, "Yeah, I saw it on the way. Lillian mentioned she liked balloons last time, so I got one for her."

"Lillian's gonna love it."

Seeing that Aviana didn't suspect anything, Susanna let out a sigh of relief.

Soon, her phone rang. It was Michael. "Charles's health is getting better. If everything's set at home, you can bring him back."

"Really?" Susanna was ecstatic. She had always wanted Charles to come home and live like a normal kid.

Finally, her wish was coming true.

"Yeah, if you have time, you can bring him home in a couple of days."

"Of course, I have time."

Susanna's voice shook, and tears filled her eyes. "Michael, thank you so much."

If it weren't for his years of research on how to treat Charles, Charles wouldn't have improved so much.

Actually, all the other doctors had given up on Charles back then, but Michael kept trying, and now Charles was recovering.

Hearing Susanna's tearful voice, Michael smiled, "It's what I should do. I've watched Charles grow up, and I delivered him. He's like my own kid."

Susanna wiped her tears, saying, "I know. We'll have a welcome dinner at home and invite you."

"Okay." After Michael hung up, he saw Charles standing nearby, asking, "Got anything to say to your mom?"

Charles shook his head, saying, "Michael, at the welcome dinner, shouldn't you get a gift for my mom?"

"What kind of gift? Shouldn't I get one for you?"

Charles sighed, "Michael, you're so clueless. My mom said she wouldn't consider personal feelings because of me. But now that I'm better, this is a great chance; you should make a move."

Michael chuckled, "Is that really okay?"

"Of course. You're just too passive, always waiting for my mom to be ready, but love, it ain't something you can just prepare for, you gotta step up, be proactive, Michael."

Michael nodded, saying, "Alright, I'll take your advice."

Charles nodded proudly.

A determined look flashed in his eyes. Aaron had been dodging, not telling him the truth about the hacker war back then.

After a while, he started to suspect that Aaron might already know his identity.

No matter what, he wouldn't let Aaron win Susanna back.

He believed Susanna and Michael were perfect for each other!

Charles went back to his room and secretly took out his phone to send a WhatsApp message: [If you don't tell me the truth about that story, I'll delete you!]

He was mad and also wanted to see if Aaron knew who he really was.

Meanwhile, Aaron got Charles's WhatsApp message. He had been in a good mood, but seeing the message, he frowned and got serious, saying, "Sam, come here."

Every time he chatted with Charles, he needed Sam's help.

Sam was great at dealing with people. He figured that with the kid's attitude, he would've been blocked a long time ago.

But he had managed to stick around until now.

Sam came over and looked at the message, saying, "We can't stall any longer. Just tell him the whole story."

Aaron hesitated, saying, "If I tell him everything, he might delete me."

"I know, so tell him the story first, then find another reason to keep him talking."

Aaron asked, "What reason?"

"It's hard to say. Tell the story first, then see how the kid reacts. We'll figure out the next step from there."

At this moment, Sam was like a teacher, guiding Aaron on how to handle a kid.

He held Aaron's hand, saying, "Send a voice message this time, no typing."

Aaron hesitated. He was a bit nervous about sending a voice message since it would be his first time talking to the kid directly.

But he followed Sam's advice and sent a voice message, "After being threatened by those terrorist families, there was a lot of resistance. Most people backed out, but one person stayed and fought alongside me. We destroyed the terrorist organization's base and exposed the videos and addresses. After that, no one dared to cover it up."

Charles waited for a while and saw that Aaron had sent a voice message lasting several seconds.

He hesitated. Why didn't Aaron type? Why send a voice message?

But curiosity got the better of him, and he played the voice message.

Aaron's deep voice narrated the story.

It was the first time Charles heard Aaron's voice, and it wasn't as annoying as he thought. His expression became a bit unnatural, his attention drawn to the voice.

Finally, Charles typed: [Who was the person fighting alongside you?]

Aaron sent another voice message, "I don't know. I only know their codename was ShadowFox from Philadelphia. I don't know any other information. After that joint operation, we had no contact and didn't leave any way to reach each other."

After that silent war ended, it seemed like everything returned to normal.

Meeting those people felt like a dream.

Charles was puzzled, 'Codename ShadowFox?'

He quickly opened his computer and looked at the files Arthur had sent him, which included the codename ShadowFox.

These were some of Arthur's early works, which were sent to him for study.

Charles fell silent. Could Arthur have been the one who fought alongside Aaron against the terrorists?

Although he knew Arthur was a very skilled hacker, he had never mentioned doing such things.

Charles typed a puzzled message: [Why were you so secretive about this?]
