Chapter 181 You Could Tell He Was Trouble
Susanna had seen Brian's shady side firsthand when she had to bail him out of the hotel.
Brian coughed and said seriously, "It's because I'm that kind of guy that I can spot others like me. That dude Dick? I knew right away he was bad news."
In the past, Susanna would have argued with Brian. But lately, she had started to see that Dick wasn't who she thought he was, especially after the rumors he spread on the campus forum. That's when Susanna really understood what kind of person Dick was.
He wasn't a good guy at all; he just hid it well before.
Susanna was quiet for a moment. "I've just realized Dick isn't who I thought he was."
Austin chimed in, "Susanna, he's been chasing after you, right? If you don't like him, just tell him straight up."
"I've told him plenty of times, but he seems to have misunderstood and won't back off. Today, I even found out he posted on the school forum saying we're a couple," Susanna said.
Brian's face darkened. "Turn around, he can't have gone far. I'm gonna knock his teeth out today!"
Austin was shocked that Dick would do something like that. He quickly agreed, "I'll call Arthur; he's good at handling this stuff."
"Austin, no need. I've already taken care of it. I learned some tricks from Arthur, like finding an IP address; it's pretty easy," Susanna said.
Austin remembered Susanna had hacked into the Edward Group's system before, so finding an IP address was no big deal for her. But he was still really angry.
He said with a cold expression, "I thought that since he saved you last time, he might be a decent guy. But I didn't expect him to pull these cheap tricks to force you. Susanna, Brian's right; you can't date guys who cling like this. It's all just low tactics!"
Susanna nodded. "Austin, I know. Dick has been pursuing me persistently, but I don't harbor any romantic sentiments for him. If I lack fondness for him, then I simply do not." ."
Brian still looked worried. "Susanna, let me tell you, if someone wants to pursue you in the future, do you know how to tell if they're sincere?"
Susanna was curious. "How do you tell?"
'If daily care and planned dates aren't sincere, then what is?' Susanna wondered.
Brian said seriously, "First, the guy's gotta meet some strict criteria. If his career income isn't in the millions, it's a no-go. Secondly, if he's too ugly or too short, it's a no-go. Lastly, his family background should be harmonious."
Susanna was stunned. "I think if two people like each other, those conditions aren't that important, right?"
"Susanna, you're gonna drive me crazy! How can you be so naive about love? Do you know how realistic men are when it comes to relationships?" Brian complained.
He looked dissatisfied and continued, "Men choose their romantic partners based on looks or to meet physical needs. But when it comes to choosing a marriage partner, it's as serious as job hunting. They consider the woman's looks, body, income, and family background. Men are pragmatic; all men are like this."
Austin interrupted, "Who says that? I'm not that kind of guy."
"Come on, you're just slightly better, barely qualifying as a decent man. But guys like you are rare, especially those with status and position; they're even rarer," Brian replied.
Austin nodded seriously and said to Susanna, "Brian's a scumbag. Um, I mean, a love expert. You should listen to him about this stuff. It might save you from getting deceived by men in the future."
Susanna looked at Austin and said, "I get it now. I won't be naive about love anymore."
Back then, Susanna was a love-struck girl. When she saw Aaron's life hanging by a thread, she thought that even if he died, she would marry him and live as a widow!
Now, thinking back to her thoughts at that time, Susanna really wanted to slap herself!
Brian continued earnestly, "Never sacrifice your career for what some may call love, and never pity a man. After all, showing pity towards a man marks the start of a woman's misfortune!"
Thinking of Aaron's actions, Susanna nodded seriously. "That's right."
She had impulsively wanted to marry Aaron out of sympathy for his injuries.
Brian continued, "Susanna, and most importantly, no matter how much you like a man in the future, don't focus all your attention on him. You need to have your own life. After all, men are fickle. The less you pay attention to him and the better you live on your own, the more he won't be able to let you go."
Susanna nodded in agreement. "I think that's very true."
Never sacrifice your own life for a man.
She had been Mrs. Abbott for three years, with Aaron as her only focus in life, but in the end, she was abandoned.
That was a bloody lesson learned.
At that moment, Austin noticed Susanna's expression wasn't quite right. He suddenly remembered that Susanna had married Aaron out of naivety and even took a three-year break from school to be a full-time Mrs. Abbott.
He immediately tried to lighten the mood. "Susanna, consider Brian's advice. Take what resonates and disregard the rest."
Brian retorted, "How can you say just listen? I'm teaching Susanna how not to be deceived in the future. There are a lot of guys with ulterior motives out there these days."
Susanna showed an awkward but polite smile. Although Brian was a scumbag, what he said made a lot of sense.
If she had had Brian around before, she probably wouldn't have married Aaron.
After all, even if she hadn't married him, Aaron would have been fine in the end!
All the way, Susanna listened to Brian talk about many tips on dating, how to capture a man's heart, how to choose a man, and how to make a man devoted to her.
She was taken aback by the depth of information shared. She hadn't realized there was so much to consider in the realm of dating!
Brian talked until he was thirsty and finally took a sip of water. "Susanna, nowadays, schools focus on empowering girls to be independent, strong, and academically successful, but they often overlook teaching them about dating. This aspect is crucial. Selecting the wrong partner is akin to purchasing the wrong house. Once you're in, making a change can result in significant losses."
Susanna could only give a thumbs-up. "You should write a book, Brian!"
After returning home with her brothers and having dinner, Susanna wrote down all of Brian's words in her memo, constantly reminding herself not to be a love-struck again.
The next morning, Susanna was woken up by a phone call. She answered groggily, "Hello, who is this?"
"Susanna, something happened to Dick!"
