Chapter 309 You're a Douchebag Dad
Lillian rolled her eyes and replied confidently, "My mommy says if you brush your teeth often, you won't get cavities!"
Sam hobbled out, swearing that he had never been this embarrassed in his life. With a cold expression, he walked to the sofa and sat down, staring at Lillian. "Who sent you here?"
"Not telling you!"
"What's your mommy's name?"
"I told you, my mommy's name is Beauty."
After a few questions, Sam felt exhausted and crossed his arms. "I can't believe I met you!"
Aaron, hearing this, instinctively looked at Lillian. Her face bore a striking resemblance to the late Susanna, who had once said something similar.
A hint of doubt flashed in his eyes, but Susanna had died four years ago from a miscarriage and severe bleeding. Yet he never believed it!
He looked at Lillian. "Now that your dad is found, when are you planning to go back?"
Lillian's response was instant and fiery. "If I had known he was a douchebag, I wouldn't have come."
Sam remained silent.
Aaron calmly asked, "Which city in Novaria do you live in? I'll buy a ticket and have someone send you back."
Sam suddenly asked in surprise, "You're from Novaria? What's your name?"
Lillian arrogantly turned her head. "I don't want to answer your questions."
Aaron interjected, "Her name is Lillian Jones."
Sam thought about the name, feeling something was off but couldn't pinpoint it.
Lillian turned her back to Sam, clearly not wanting to deal with him.
Aaron looked at her. "You still haven't answered my question."
Lillian pouted and replied, "Ember."
Sam's mind drifted as he contemplated the situation. Ember, the capital of Novaria, where the Jones family resided. Lillian's last name was Jones, and her resemblance to Susanna was uncanny. Was it all just a mere coincidence?
Aaron swiftly turned to Tyler. "Get her booked on the next available flight and arrange for someone to escort her to the airport."
Tyler quickly made the call but soon hung up and reported, "Mr. Abbott, there's a storm today. Radiant Valley Airport is closed, and all flights are canceled."
"When's the earliest they can resume flights?" Aaron asked.
"Probably tomorrow, depending on the weather."
Aaron looked at Lillian with a hint of helplessness. "You can't go back now."
Lillian clung to him, pleading, "Aaron, let me stay for one night. I even sleep like a log, I swear!"
Aaron looked at Sam. "Did you hear that?"
"What?" Sam was confused.
"No way!" Lillian rejected immediately.
Sam looked down at her. "Aren't you here to find your daddy? Why don't you want to sleep with me? Do you dislike me?"
"I don't want to sleep in the same room as a douchebag," Lillian said as she arrogantly tossed her little head, her braid coming loose, and her soft hair falling over her shoulders.
Sam was so angry he felt unwell.
Lillian looked at Aaron with puppy eyes. "Aaron, let me stay for one night," she pleaded.
Aaron frowned. "I don't like sleeping with others."
"I can sleep on the sofa!"
Aaron's brows furrowed tightly, but he couldn't refuse her face.
At this moment, Tyler spoke up, "Mr. Abbott, it's time to meet Connor."
Lillian looked up and said in her sweet childlike voice, "Aaron, you go ahead. Don't worry about me. I'll wait for you to come back!"
Sam let out a deep sigh, muttering, "You call him Aaron too?"
Lillian crossed her arms and arrogantly raised her little chin, still ignoring him.
Aaron nodded in acknowledgment, giving Tyler a quick glance. "Have the bodyguards watch the room 24/7 and bring her some food," he instructed before exiting the room.
Sam followed him out, lowering his voice. "Aaron, where did you pick up this kid?"
Aaron gave him a deep look. "Isn't this your child?"
"Did you see her resemblance? She can't be my kid. If anything, she's yours. She's a spitting image of Susanna," Sam remarked.
The mention of Susanna's name instantly chilled the atmosphere. Aaron's expression hardened, and he coldly said, "If you can't speak properly, it's best to remain silent."
"Aaron, I know you don't want to bring up that name. But can you honestly say you picked her up from the roadside without considering her face?" Sam understood Aaron quiet a lot.
Aaron grabbed Sam's collar. "What are you trying to say?"
"I'm saying she happens to be from Ember, Novaria. The Jones family is in Ember, and her last name is Jones. Don't you find all these coincidences strange?"
Aaron suddenly let go, and after a while, he said in a deep voice, "Are you suggesting she's Susanna's daughter and that Susanna isn't dead?"
"It's very possible. After all, you never saw the body. The Jones family hurriedly took the remains away. Isn't that suspicious? Besides, you've been looking for her all these years, haven't you?" Sam analysed.
"I've been looking for her just to find out the truth!" Deep in Aaron's eyes was a hint of embarrassment. He left with a stern face.
Sam could only sigh and turned to Tyler. "Don't you think what I said makes sense?"
Tyler nodded. "I think Mr. Abbott has been disappointed too many times over the years, so he doesn't dare to believe it."
At that very moment, in the opulent suite, Lillian settled onto the plush sofa, retrieving her smartwatch discreetly. She tapped a few buttons and initiated a secret call to Charles.
The call connected quickly, and a hushed voice said, "Lillian, when you get off the plane at the airport, take a cab directly to the amusement park. Aunt Aviana said she wants to come and have dinner with us. I just used our trip to the amusement park as an excuse to buy us an extra hour."
Lillian replied anxiously, "But the airport is closed. I can't come back now."
"What should we do then?"
"Charles, if Mommy finds out I snuck out, I'm screwed." Lillian was about to cry.
On the other end, Charles frowned. "Aunt Aviana is coming. I can't cover for you all night."
Lillian pleaded, "Charles, you have to help me."
"Who told you to go to Radiant Valley on your own? Did you see that man?" Charles asked.
Lillian pouted and sadly replied, "I saw him. But he doesn't remember Mommy and doesn't want to acknowledge me."
"Did you teach the douchebag a lesson?"
Lillian nodded vigorously. "I used up all the weapons in my backpack."
"So what are you going to do now? Where are you staying?" Charles was actually worried about his sister.
"Uncle Aaron said I could stay for one night. He seems to know the douchebag, but he's a nice uncle." Lillian had a bold idea in her heart. If only the uncle could be her daddy.
"Lillian, I can't cover for you. You'll have to explain to Mommy yourself."
"Charles." Lillian looked at the disconnected call, put her watch aside, and contemplated her situation.
Unable to return, she entertained the notion of allowing Susanna to come and retrieve her.
Perhaps this unexpected turn of events could pave the way for a meeting between Aaron and Susanna!
