Chapter 282 Bullies Should Be Taught a Lesson

Susanna stood by the busy street, watching him closely.

People couldn't help but stare at Aaron's striking looks as they passed by.

The dim streetlights highlighted the tension in Aaron's eyes.

Almost without thinking, he blurted out, "Susanna, are you that full of yourself?" Regret flashed across his face as soon as he said it.

Susanna nodded. "If you don't like me, Mr. Abbott, then stop hovering around and being kind to me. It gives me the wrong idea."

Aaron's throat tightened. "I'm trying to make up for the past. I know I've neglected you these past three years."

Susanna wasn't the gold-digger he had thought.

Her eyes stung, and a bitter taste filled her mouth. "Make it up? What do you think I need now?"

Aaron knew she was now the heir to the Jones family and lacked nothing. He pressed his lips together. "It's different."

"No, it's not. When the Abbott family kicked me out, you didn't feel guilty. Now that I'm the Jones heir and have everything, you suddenly want to make it up to me? Who would believe that?" Susanna shot back.

Aaron frowned. "Do you think I'm doing this because of your status? Is that what you think of me?"

"What else? If you really feel guilty, be a proper ex-husband and stop messing with me," Susanna said firmly.

Aaron remembered her saying a good ex-husband should act like he never existed.

Susanna turned and walked away. A few steps later, Elliot's car pulled up. "Ms. Jones, need a ride?"

Without a word, Susanna got in. Leaning back, she thought about Aaron's words and found them ridiculous.

Make it up?

She didn't need any of it.

Aaron stood by the roadside for a long time before getting into his car. He pulled out his phone and called. "Grandma, I need a favor."

Susanna went back to school. She was distracted all afternoon, thanks to Aaron.

Just as she was about to leave early for dinner, Jack called. "What's up?"

"Susanna, are you at school?"

"Yeah, in the study room."

"Watch out for Lucy. She found out I had dinner with you and is looking for you. I didn't give her your number, but she might come to school," Jack warned.

Susanna frowned. "Got it."

She quickly packed her bag and left, hoping to avoid Lucy. But fate had other plans.

At the school gate, Lucy appeared. She ran over, crying, her usual arrogance gone. "Susanna, I'm sorry for my actions at the reunion. I was jealous and gossiped. Please forgive me. It won't happen again."

Seeing Lucy's apologetic look, Susanna felt no sympathy. Memories of Lucy's bullying, both at the restaurant and in school, were still fresh.

She sneered, "Why should I?"

Lucy was taken aback, not expecting such a blunt response.

"Susanna, for the sake of us being classmates, forgive me this time. I really won't do it again. My family's company has gone bankrupt, and my dad's been taken away. If this keeps up, we'll be ruined."

"When you bullied others and spread rumors, did you ever think this day would come?" Susanna's tone was icy.

"I'll say it again, I won't forgive you."

As she turned to leave, Lucy dropped to her knees. "Susanna, please forgive me. I'll publicly apologize and post it on social media. I really won't do it again!"

"Let go! Why should the world revolve around you? You bully people and then expect forgiveness with a simple apology?"

Susanna would never forget how Lucy always excluded her in school. At the class reunion, Lucy's rumors were even worse. She had no sympathy for her.

Elliot approached and asked, "Ms. Jones, do you need me to handle this?"

Seeing Elliot, Lucy realized he was Susanna's family driver, not some rich old man. Susanna's biological parents were wealthy, and she was now an heir to a rich family!

Terrified, Lucy quickly let go and didn't dare to stop Susanna anymore.

Susanna shook her head at Elliot, got into the car, and glanced at Lucy through the rearview mirror. Lucy looked terrible. She hadn't changed at all.

After the car left, Lucy sat on the ground, with several missed calls from her mother, urging her to apologize and get her father out of jail.

A woman in black sportswear approached Lucy. "Did Susanna target you too?"

Lucy looked up. "Who are you?"

"You don't need to know my identity. Just understand we share a common foe—Susanna."

In the car, Susanna sneezed, and Elliot quickly turned down the air conditioning.

That evening, Susanna asked Brian about Lucy.

Brian sneered, "That classmate who bullied you? Elliot called me, so I taught Lucy a lesson. I found out she used to bully you a lot. Driving her company into bankruptcy was already showing mercy."

A grim expression settled on Brian's face. Lucy wouldn't find happiness as long as he had a say in it. The bankruptcy of her family's business was just the beginning. The torment she had inflicted on Susanna would now be repaid twofold.

Just as Susanna was about to say something, Madison came out. "That's right, Lucy was awful. She used to bully Susanna on purpose and even called the parents once. Her mother was unbearable."

Brian's face changed slightly. "Madison, did they bully you too?"

"Of course. We had to endure it back then, but now, with your support for Susanna, it's time to teach Lucy a good lesson," Madison replied.

Susanna couldn't help but laugh. Her question was out of curiosity, and she didn't believe Lucy was innocent.

The next day, Susanna received a call from Maria . "Susanna, are you free in a couple of days?"
