Chapter 144 A Misunderstanding

Earlier, while the two were engaged in beauty treatments, Elaine missed the call. Now, Allison wasn't answering her phone, either.

Elaine pondered for a moment. " It might not be true. Allison is notorious now, jobless, and desperate for money. Who knows if she's lying to make money?"

Erica nodded in agreement. "That's possible, but she wouldn't say such things without reason, would she?"

"But if Susanna is pregnant, could it be Austin's child? That would be very disadvantageous for you, wouldn't it?" Elaine asked.

Erica frowned, disagreeing with that assumption. After all, Susanna had been getting close to Austin recently. What if the children were Austin's?

The thought made Erica feel uneasy. She couldn't let Susanna have any ties with her brother!

After much contemplation, Erica felt something was off. She immediately called her assistant. "Go to the hospital and investigate Susanna's medical records. See if she's really pregnant."

'If Susanna is indeed pregnant, regardless of whose children it is, she will not allow her children to be born.' Erica thought to herself.

Elaine spoke up, "Erica, how's the arrangement for Susanna's relocation going? I can't wait to see her suffer."

"Don't worry. I've already arranged it."

A cold glint flashed in Erica's eyes. Dealing with such a small matter was within her capabilities. That wretched Susanna dared to be so arrogant, even forcing her to apologize at school last time!

This time, she'd teach Susanna a lesson.

Meanwhile, after her check-up, Susanna returned home to find Madison looking restless, frequently glancing at his phone.

She asked in surprise, "Madison, what's wrong?"

"Susanna, I heard the relocation compensation started being disbursed yesterday, but we haven't received it yet. I've asked around, and everyone else has gotten theirs. Do you think there's a problem?"

Susanna replied in confusion, "No, I don't think so Did you use the bank card I mentioned?"

"Yes, I even took a photo to make sure. I've double-checked the card number, and it's correct."

"Madison, don't worry. I'll go to the construction company tomorrow to inquire. Sliverpeak Innovations is a big corporation; there shouldn't be any issues," Susanna comforted him.

After comforting Madison, Susanna couldn't help but suspect that this might have something to do with Erica. After all, Erica had threatened her with this matter before.

No matter what, she would go to Sliverpeak Innovations' branch tomorrow to get to the bottom of this. It was impossible for everyone else to receive their compensation except her family. Even if Erica wanted to abuse her power, Susanna wouldn't let her succeed.

Returning to her room, Susanna called Arthur. "Arthur, I have something to ask you."

"What is it?"

"How can I hack into a company's system to find the information I want?"

Arthur raised an eyebrow, asking, "Susanna, which company's system are you trying to hack?"

"Um, I'm not planning to hack any company's system. I'm just curious. The assignments you gave me last time, I've done them successfully. Now, I'm a bit of a self-taught hacker, and my hands are itching."

Susanna had never realized her talent for computers until Arthur helped her trace the IP address of the person who spread rumors about her at school. Since then, she had developed an interest in computers and asked Arthur to teach her. She had made significant progress since then.

Arthur could tell that Susanna was making excuses and definitely intended to hack into some company's system. He calmly replied, "Sure, it's quite simple. Just follow the procedures I taught you. However, large companies usually have security personnel who will quickly retaliate once they discover their network has been hacked. So, you must find an absolutely secure firewall IP address to avoid being traced back."

"Arthur, it should be fine with that program you sent me, right?" Susanna inquired.

"Not necessarily. I'll send you a new one that's even more secure."

Susanna was silent for a moment. "Thanks, Arthur."

She understood that Arthur had guessed her intentions but didn't expose her and even sent her a new security program.

"No need to thank me. If you run into any problems you can't solve, call me immediately," Arthur replied.

"Okay."

After hanging up, Susanna quickly received a compressed file from Arthur and saved it onto a USB drive.

The next day, Susanna took her tablet and went directly to the branch office of Sliverpeak Innovations. The person in charge of the relocation worked there, and she wanted to ask him face-to-face about the issue.

Susanna approached the receptionist on the first floor. "Hello, I'd like to speak with Mark, the person in charge of the relocation. I'm a resident of Emerald Hills. Everyone else has received their payments, but we haven't. I want to find out what's going on."

"Please wait a moment. I'll check for you."

Susanna stood by and glanced at the decor, which was quite tasteful. The receptionist soon informed her, "Mark is busy right now. Please wait over there; he'll address your issue once he's free."

Susanna sat down nearby and took out her tablet, beginning to hack into the company's network. She started by casually browsing the internal system's web pages and noted the work schedule of the relocation office, memorizing Mark's appearance.

After waiting for an hour, Susanna grew impatient and asked the receptionist, "Is Mark still in a meeting?"

"He should be. I'm sorry, but please wait a bit longer," the receptionist replied.

Returning to her seat, Susanna hacked into the system and retrieved Mark's phone number. She called him immediately, and he answered at once, "Who is this?"

"Mark, I'm a resident of Emerald Hills. Our family hasn't received the relocation payment, and I want to know why. Are you done with your meeting?"

"Oh, it's you. Sorry, I'm still busy. I'll contact you once I'm done."

He hung up immediately, and when she called back, he didn't answer. Susanna realized that he was deliberately ignoring her, likely due to Erica's influence.

Given the situation, she decided to take the next step. Susanna sat back down and hacked into the internal system, posting a message on every page: [Mark from the relocation department, are you done with your meeting?]

Instantly, everyone in the branch office saw the message and was stunned, wondering, “What's going on?”

Upon learning that the company's network had been hacked, Edward immediately received the news and angrily said, "Is the security department this useless? Find that hacker immediately!"
