Chapter 71 Not Considering Matters of Love Temporarily
After saying those words, Aaron left.
Erica's face changed instantly as she quickly caught up with him. "Aaron, please let me explain. Austin has agreed to do the surgery. He is just busy with his work. The wedding date has already been set. If you cancel it, my brother will surely misunderstand you."
Aaron lowered his gaze, his eyes cold. And he warned, "Erica, our engagement was just a transaction from the beginning. I hope you can understand that."
Erica forced a smile, and she replied, "I know."
"Good. Since your brother doesn't intend to come for the surgery, there is no need to continue the engagement. The transaction is canceled!" Aaron finished speaking and unsympathetically shook off Erica's hand as before.
Erica stood in place, her eyes slightly red. She couldn't understand why, after all her efforts, she still couldn't get engaged to Aaron.
Elaine approached her. "Erica, don't cry."
"Elaine, Aaron has actually fallen in love with Susanna. That's why he mentioned canceling the engagement." Erica guessed.
"What? How could Aaron like that gold digger Susanna? There must be a misunderstanding. Erica, don't worry. I will go and give Susanna a lesson, making sure she completely disappears from our sight and never appears in front of Aaron again." Elaine said firmly.
Erica lowered her eyelids, showing a sad expression on the surface, but her eyes revealed something evil.

Susanna left the auction with Justin and returned home. She sat in the passenger seat and took off the necklace.
"Justin, this necklace is too expensive. I can't accept it!"
Justin remained calm and said, "It's fine. Just keep it. Anyway, the famous actor has money. Even if this matter is publicized, people will say he donated $40 million to charity."
"But won't he be angry when he finds out you took the necklace?" Susanna asked.
"No, we have a good relationship. It's just a necklace, not a big deal." Justin added.
Susanna found it strange, but she didn't know why.
After returning home, she looked at the $40 million necklace. No matter where she put it, she couldn't feel at ease.
Outside, Justin lay on the couch, sending messages in the Loving Family chat group.
Justin: [Here is the bill. Today, I spent 40 million dollars buying Susanna a diamond necklace.]

Edward: [Can that necklace from the auction really sell for 40 million dollars?]
Justin explained the process of competing with Aaron for the necklace.
Austin replied: [Well done! The divorced man from the Abbott family is actually interested in Susanna. We must stop him.]

Meanwhile, Aviana looked at Edward and asked, "Is the divorced man from the Abbott family that you mentioned the same man Erica likes? His name sounds familiar to me!"
"You are right. It's the same guy!" Just as Edward finished speaking, his phone rang. The caller ID showed it was Erica.
Aviana glanced at him. "Answer it. She must be calling about Aaron."
Edward cleared his throat and answered the call. "Hello."
"Edward, have you done having dinner with Aviana?" Erica asked anxiously.
"Yes, we are done. What's the matter?" Edward asked.
Taking a deep breath on the other end of the line, Erica spoke, "Edward, I want to ask you for a favor. Didn't you say that if I take good care of Jane, you will treat me like a sister and support me when I get married?"
Edward fell silent for a moment. "Yes."
"Edward, I want to marry Aaron," Erica replied.
Edward sighed. "Do you really have to marry that man?"
"Yes, I must marry Aaron," Erica said firmly.
Edward pondered and said, "Erica, you have to think it through. Do you want to use my promise for this matter?"
"Yes, I have thought it through," Erica added.
Finally, Edward answered, "Alright."
Erica instantly breathed a sigh of relief, a flash of joy in her eyes. "Edward, do you really agree to me marrying Aaron?"
"Yes, I promise you, I will definitely do it," Edward said.
"Thank you, Edward," Erica replied.
Erica happily hung up the phone. As long as Edward agreed, there would be no problem.

The next day, Susanna woke up and instinctively checked the entertainment headlines.
After all, every time she went out with Justin, they would be mistaken for Zachary and his girlfriend. But this time, there wasn't any news about them. There was only news of Zachary attending a charity auction and donating 40 million dollars; nothing else was mentioned.
After reading this, Susanna finally breathed a sigh of relief.
Susanna observed the scene and saw another entertaining news: [Socialite Erica and Elaine attended a charity auction together.]
The moment Erica and Elaine got out of the car, they were captured in photos.
Susanna only glanced at the headlines before closing it. Then, she took a car to the studio to work overtime because, after all, she needed to make money.
After arriving at the office, Susanna was approached by Dick, who walked out of his office. "Susanna, you've been working hard lately and putting in a lot of effort."
"I have no choice. Making money is what I need the most right now." Susanna replied.
"Susanna, if you feel pressured to go back to studying, you can tell me," Dick suggested.
Upon hearing this, Susanna calmly replied, "Thank you, Dick. But for now, I'm doing fine."
"Susanna, as a young girl, you don't have to work so hard. I know your family background isn't great, but if you marry me in the future, you won't have to be so exhausted." Dick added.
Susanna frowned. She felt like her refusal was already clear enough, but she didn't expect Dick to be so direct.
Susanna pursed her lips. "Dick, I don't want to think about love temporarily. I'm sorry."
"Susanna, I actually liked you before, but before I could figure out how to tell you, you had already dropped out of school. No one knew where you went. And now you suddenly reappeared. I've thought about it for a long time, and I don't want to miss the chance again." Dick confessed.
Susanna took a deep breath. "Dick, I'm actually married."
"Susanna, even if you wanted to reject me, you don't have to come up with reasons like this!" Dick teased.
"Dick, it's true." Susanna wanted to explain, but it seemed like Dick didn't believe her.
After work, Susanna went to the hospital to visit Maria, who was finally able to have surgery over the weekend. She bought daisies, Maria's favorite, and held them in her arms as she took the elevator upstairs.
However, as soon as Susanna stepped out, she saw Aaron standing outside the corridor, his face cold as he spoke on the phone. "I don't believe there's only one doctor in the world who can perform this surgery. Go find another one!"
Jimmy said, "Mr. Abbott, we've been trying our best to find a suitable doctor. It needs more time."
Upon hearing this, Susanna felt puzzled. She thought to herself, 'Didn't he already decide to have Erica's brother perform the surgery? Why did he suddenly want to change doctors?'
While holding the daisies, Susanna walked over and looked at Aaron's back and asked, "Is there a problem with the surgery arrangement?"
Upon seeing Susanna, Jimmy quickly stepped aside.
Aaron heard her voice, and his back stiffened for a moment.
