Chapter 274 He Came from the Heavy Rain
Susanna's mouth twitched, wondering if Lucy had lost her mind.
As she waited, the rain kept pouring.
Elliot still hadn't shown up. She only rode with Elliot today and didn't get his number, so she didn't know why he hadn't shown up.
Lucy started mocking, "See? Susanna's too scared to let that old man pick her up. She's afraid we'll expose her!"
Susanna frowned. "Lucy, haven't you learned your lesson?"
She'd planned to tell Brian. Despite disliking Lucy, she didn't want to ruin her family financially. But Lucy had gone too far, and Susanna thought it was time for a wake-up call.
"Why should I back down now? I'm going to expose you!" Lucy was in denial, refusing to believe Susanna's wealthy parents were real.
Lucy was convinced Susanna had some shady deal with Elite or that the old man was in on it. How could an orphan become an heir?
Susanna smirked. "Suit yourself."
If Lucy wanted trouble, Susanna would give it to her.
Lucy sneered, "Susanna, stop acting all high and mighty. Where's your driver? Why don't you call him?"
Elliot had just started driving her today. She wasn't used to it yet.
"You don't even have his number? It's late, raining, and your ride's not here? Who's buying your story now?" Lucy's confidence grew. "See? Susanna's lying about her rich family!"
A classmate chimed in, "Then how do you explain what just happened? Your dad called and yelled at you."
Lucy gritted her teeth. "That was Susanna's sugar daddy and Elite putting on a show!"
The classmate whispered, "But your family's company is still in trouble. Aren't you being too arrogant?"
Lucy's face froze, guilt flashing briefly. "Susanna's just a gold digger. One word to that old man's wife, and Susanna's fantasy will crumble. Just wait!"
Susanna gave Lucy a half-smile. "I was going to talk to my brother. This is between us; no need to drag our families into it. But if you're so sure, let's continue."
Flandre jumped in, "Susanna, you're too nice. Why be soft with her? Lucy's bullied so many people using her dad's company. Her family's bankruptcy is karma."
Lucy gritted her teeth and scoffed, "Susanna, who believes you went from orphan to heir? No one's heard of this; you can't just make stuff up!"
Juniper chimed in, "Yeah, where's your driver? Scared Lucy will find out and tell his wife, so you don't dare let him pick you up?"
Just then, a brand-new black luxury car pulled up outside the restaurant, cutting through the rain and stopping right in front.
Everyone's eyes were glued to it.
Jack exclaimed, "Wow, that's a new Rolls-Royce. You can't just buy one even if you have the money."
Lucy looked over, stunned.
Susanna eyed the sleek black car, puzzled. It wasn't Brian's or Elliot's. The emblem looked familiar, but she remembered Aaron drove a car of this brand, just not this model.
The passenger door opened, and a man stepped out, holding a large black umbrella. He opened the back door with a respectful gesture.
Aaron, looking sharp in a sleek suit, emerged. His striking features and intense gaze seemed to silence the rain for a moment.
He took the umbrella from Tyler and stepped onto the stairs, his steps confident and powerful. The women present were captivated.
Susanna stared at Aaron, thinking, ‘Why is he here? Did he come through this downpour just for a meal?’
As she pondered, Aaron stood in front of her, towering over her even on the steps.
He held the umbrella over her, shielding her from the rain.
Susanna instinctively moved aside. "Are you here for a meal?"
Aaron frowned. "Come with me."
In this heavy rain, getting a cab was impossible.
Susanna refused. "No need to trouble yourself."
Elliot was probably just delayed and would come soon.
Aaron's tone turned displeased. "In this rain, are you planning to walk back?" He reached out his hand.
Jack stepped forward, standing beside Susanna. "Sir, Susanna doesn't want to go with you. I'll take her home later."
Aaron's gaze turned piercing. "I advise you not to meddle."
Jack continued, "I'm Susanna's classmate. If she doesn't want to leave with you, you can't take her."
Aaron's lips pressed coldly, his eyebrows raised in a mocking look.
Though Jack wore a business suit, he couldn't match Aaron's aura or looks.
Aaron shot Jack a chilling glare, making Jack shiver but also admire Aaron's formidable presence.
Jack stood his ground. "I'm Jack, team leader at Capital Crest Advisors. Here's my business card!" He spoke with pride, knowing his position commanded respect.
Aaron glanced at the card but didn't take it, exuding extreme arrogance.
