Chapter 68 Aaron Seems Weird Today
Susanna watched Aaron walking towards them, and her gaze remained fixed on his suit. She could almost confirm that this suit was the one she had picked for him several months ago.
Back then, Erica hadn't returned yet, and he hadn't mentioned divorce.
Aaron approached and saw the number plate in Susanna's hand, furrowing his brows subconsciously.
Erica immediately smiled and walked forward. "Aaron, you didn't expect to meet Miss Miller here, did you? Elaine and I found it strange, so we were chatting with her."
Elaine quickly mocked, "Aaron, maybe Susanna has seduced another man. Otherwise, with her background, how could she possibly come to such an event? Some people are destined to stay in the slums, but they insist on dreaming of marrying into wealth."
Susanna's face turned cold, and Justin's cold snort came from behind her. "No wonder I smelled a strong stench from a distance. Even with such heavy perfume, you can't cover up the stench in your mouth. I advise you to go back and clean your mouth before coming out so that the stench won't affect the plants."
Justin's remark was sharp, and Elaine was so angry that her makeup almost smudged. "Aaron, look, he actually insulted me!"
When Aaron saw Justin, his gaze turned much colder. Susanna came to the auction with him.
When Susanna turned around and saw Justin, a smile appeared on her face. He always had a sharp tongue and voiced his inner thoughts!
Justin casually stood next to her. His features were handsome, and he exuded the aura of a hunk. He looked sharply at Aaron.
A few days ago, Austin mentioned Susanna falling ill and fainting, and then Aaron sent her to the hospital and hired a nurse for her. After all, as men, they could both see Aaron's intentions.
This divorced man, Aaron, was not worthy of Susanna.
Justin wore a handsome smile. "Mr. Abbott, you should keep your people in line and prevent them from causing trouble. Otherwise, if someone decides to shut them up, they won't even know what hit them."
Aaron pursed his lips coldly. "I don't need you to teach me how to handle my people."
Susanna noticed the tense atmosphere between Aaron and Justin, and her heart started beating fast. She knew Aaron's temper.
Justin dared to argue with him. He did it for her, so she pulled his hand gently. "Let's go. The auction is about to start."
Justin wanted to say something, but he obediently let her lead him away.
Aaron felt furious at Justin's provoking gaze.
Erica quickly interjected, "Aaron, don't get angry. Justin is known for speaking his mind openly. In the entertainment industry in Novaria, he often offends others with his remarks. That's why he keeps a low profile, to avoid losing fans because of his sharp tongue."
Elaine looked confused. "Isn't he a double for your cousin?"
Erica explained, "Justin does have a counterpart who looks like him, but I can tell that this person is my cousin. He's not a double. However, his management company is worried about his relationship being exposed, so they always send out the double to handle the risks."
Elaine snorted. "Good for Susanna. She had just divorced Aaron but immediately seduced Justin. What charm does she have? Maybe it's in terms of... you know."
Aaron turned aside and rebuked sternly, "Elaine, have all the years of your upbringing gone to waste? Your words are so offensive. Even perfume can't mask your foul smell!"
Elaine was stunned by the scolding. "Aaron!"
Aaron said, "If you can't speak properly, then shut up. Don't embarrass yourself."
After this, he walked ahead. Erica quickly comforted Elaine and caught up with Aaron.
On the other side, Susanna went with Justin to find their seats.
Justin looked at her. "Susanna, when you used to work as a nurse for the Abbott family, were you often bullied?"
Susanna hesitated. "No, Mrs. Maria treated me well. Nobody dared to bully me."
"Susanna, Elaine's words earlier were so harsh, so she must have mocked you before. Don't worry. I've taken revenge for you!" Justin said.
"Justin, you've misunderstood. It's not like that." Susanna explained. Susanna didn't want Justin to get involved with the people from the Abbott family because of her.
Susanna didn't tell her older brother and cousin that she had married Aaron. Therefore, she couldn't let Justin go and confront Elaine. No matter how annoying she may be, she was still a member of the Abbott family.
When Susanna wanted to persuade Justin, she saw Aaron walking over with Erica. Immediately, she closed her mouth.
Justin followed her gaze and noticed there were two empty seats next to them. He thought, 'Could it be this coincidental?'
However, sometimes things happen that way.
Susanna noticed that Aaron had taken the empty seat next to her while Erica sat next to Aaron.
Susanna straightened her posture. There was a faint scent of cologne coming from Aaron, which was very subtle. If she weren't careful, she wouldn't even be able to smell it. It was the cologne she had chosen for him. She thought it suited him well.
But Aaron never used any of these. He had never worn this suit or used that cologne.
After smelling the familiar scent of cologne, Susanna felt a bit surprised. Aaron seemed weird today.
Not only was he wearing the light-colored suit Susanna had chosen, but he also sprayed the cologne she had picked for him.
Susanna's emotions became complicated. She couldn't understand what Aaron meant by this.
Erica noticed Susanna next to her and deliberately found a topic. "Aaron, you seem a bit different today. You're wearing light-colored clothes and spraying cologne, am I right?"
Aaron looked a bit embarrassed, and he said, "No."
"Aaron, don't be shy. Men can also use cologne. Besides, the cologne on you smells really nice. Which brand is it?" Erica said.
Aaron's face became stiff. "I don't know."
Susanna secretly glanced at Aaron.
After all, this perfume was a combination of several brands that she had experimented with many times to create. There was only one bottle. Once he finished using it, there wouldn't be any left.
Soon, a strong scent of perfume wafted over. Susanna immediately knew who had arrived.
Elaine sat in the seat behind the four of them, glaring at Susanna and Justin, thinking, 'Why is Susanna able to find such a high-quality man so quickly? Are these men blind?'
Soon, the auction began.
Erica deliberately glanced at Susanna. "Miss Miller, this is your first time at an auction, right? Don't be nervous."
Susanna clenched her bidding number.
Upon hearing this, Justin's inner anger instantly ignited.
