Chapter 260 Mr. Abbott VS. Five Brothers

Aaron's words instantly fired up Susanna's five brothers.

Brian stepped up and grabbed Aaron's tie. "You looking for trouble? Susanna's not some orphan you can push around anymore. She's the Jones family heir now!"

"You think the Abbott family has money? The Jones family isn't broke either."

Aaron stayed calm, even though his arm wound started bleeding again.

Seeing this, Tyler got nervous. "Mr. Brian Jones, Mr. Abbott's arm is still hurt. He got injured saving Mrs. Abbott. Don't hit him!"

Daniel raised an eyebrow. "Shut up! They're divorced!"

Justin was fuming. "Aaron, you think Susanna can only be Mrs. Abbott? What makes you so sure? Who gave you that confidence?"

Aaron's lips tightened as he looked at Austin. "I know her."

Austin realized Aaron knew about Susanna's pregnancy, a secret they all kept.

He quickly pulled Brian back and whispered to Aaron, "If you spill about Susanna's pregnancy, you're dead."

"Think having a kid will cut her ties with the Abbott family?" Aaron shot back, surprised only Austin knew about the pregnancy.

Blood ties can't be broken.

He felt a bit grateful for the accident that let him keep Susanna close. Maybe having a kid wasn't so bad.

"Aaron, keep quiet. You know Edward's temper. If he finds out about the pregnancy, do you think the kid will survive?" Austin warned.

Aaron's eyes narrowed. "Getting rid of an Abbott heir isn't easy."

"The Jones family in Novaria isn't a pushover either. You can try!" Austin let go of Aaron and left.

Aaron watched the Jones family leave, feeling dizzy.

Tyler supported him. "Mr. Abbott, you okay?"

"I'm fine."

Aaron forced himself to stand, watching where the Jones family went. He wasn't giving up.

Tyler sighed. Who would've thought Susanna would become the Jones family heir right after their divorce?

Why didn't this come out before the divorce? It might've changed everything.

Justin's fierce look suggested he wouldn't be easy to deal with.

In the car, Susanna glanced at Edward and Aviana. "Why are you looking at me like that?"

Aviana held her hand. "Susanna, I know you had a thing with Aaron, but he wasn't good to you. There are plenty of good-looking guys out there. When we get back to Novaria, I'll introduce you to someone better."

Susanna smiled. "I'm not thinking about that now."

"Don't give up on love because of one guy. Now you're the Jones family heir; no one will mess with you," Aviana said.

Susanna was getting used to her new reality. She looked at Edward and Aviana. "Should we tell Madison?"

"You decide; we'll follow your lead."

Susanna thought for a moment. "Let's wait until we're back in Novaria. I'm worried Madison might spill the beans to her family."

To avoid trouble for Madison, it was better to keep quiet for now.

She pulled out her phone and messaged Flandre on WhatsApp: [Flandre, I gotta go. Today’s been crazy. Once I sort things out, let’s grab a meal.]

Flandre replied right away: [I get it. Today felt like a dream. My best friend turned into a rich beauty. Feels like the start of something amazing!]

Susanna sighed in relief, glad Flandre wasn’t upset. She had totally forgotten Flandre was still in the grand hall earlier.

When they got home, everyone talked about taking Madison out for dinner.

But as Susanna reached the front door, she saw several plastic bags outside. She opened the door cautiously and called out, "Madison?"

"Susanna, you’re getting more beautiful. I always knew you weren’t from an average family. Turns out I was right. You’re from wealth!" said a woman with permed hair, gripping her tightly.

An old lady rushed over. "I said that first! Susanna is so filial. Even when Madison’s family was struggling, they took Susanna in. This is good karma."

Susanna was stuck between the two women, unable to move. She didn’t expect Madison’s family to show up so quickly.

One was Madison’s sister, Dahlia, and the other was her mother, Clementine.

Unfortunately, these two weren’t kind-hearted. When Vincent got seriously ill and needed money, Madison's family not only refused to help but also mocked her.

Susanna always advised Madison to stay away from her family, fearing they’d take advantage of her kind nature.

But since Madison was moving to Novaria with her and might not be back for a while, Susanna reluctantly agreed to let her reconnect with her family.

She didn’t expect them to show up so fast.

Susanna showed no warmth to the unwelcome pair. She quickly led Madison away. "Come with me," she insisted, guiding her to the balcony. "What are they doing here?" she asked, concerned.

"I don’t know."

"Madison, didn’t I tell you not to inform them in advance? You could let them stay here temporarily."

Madison explained, "I didn’t say anything, just mentioned I’d be living in Novaria."

"Then how did they find this place? Did you give them the address?" Susanna asked.

"No, I sent my mom a package a while back but didn’t include the building number. I have no idea how they found us," Madison said, puzzled.

Susanna frowned. Their early arrival was troublesome.

Seeing Madison’s worried look, Susanna softened. "It’s okay; it doesn’t matter if they came early."

Madison sighed in relief as Susanna took her hand. "Just remember, stand your ground. You’ve found your confidence now; no need to bend over backwards for them."

"I know."

After reminding her, Susanna took Madison back to the living room and saw Dahlia sitting close to Aviana, touching the bracelet on Aviana’s wrist. "This bracelet must be expensive, right?"

With a knowing smile, Susanna chimed in, "Isn’t it gorgeous? I gave Madison a similar one."

Dahlia’s face instantly showed envy and jealousy.
