Chapter 122 I Can't Tolerate This Anymore
Susanna remained unfazed. Did Elaine think she would continue to endure without expressing her anger?
She seized Elaine's hand and swiftly threw her over her shoulder, bringing her down to the ground.
Elaine was already wearing a tight skirt, so when she fell, her underwear was completely exposed.
Susanna remarked, "You're not even wearing safety shorts, just a thong? Miss Abbott sure knows how to be a slut."
Elaine screamed loudly, "Susanna, I'm going to kill you."
Seeing the situation escalated, Erica immediately instructed her personal assistant. "Clear the area, get rid of anyone irrelevant, and check their phones."
Since she was engaged to Aaron, Elaine's behavior would reflect on her image. If Elaine embarrassed herself, Erica would receive negative feedback as well.
Dick wanted to say something, but he was promptly escorted out by the black-clad bodyguards without a chance to speak.
Standing outside, Dick felt regretful for not greeting Susanna earlier.
A colleague in the studio whispered. "Boss, Susanna was so brave just now, daring to confront the Abbott family's heiress. Isn't she afraid?"
Dick was also taken aback; he didn't dare intervene.
However, he remembered that Susanna's brother was related to the Jones family; perhaps it was an internal matter among the elite, nothing for him to worry about.
But it indirectly confirmed that Susanna's background was more complex than he had imagined; otherwise, how could she confront Erica and Elaine like that?
Only a few people remained at the engagement banquet.
Susanna wanted to take some photos with her phone but then remembered it was broken, so she gave up.
As Elaine got up from the ground, she stared at Susanna and exclaimed, "Erica, have the guards grab Susanna. I must teach her a lesson today!"
Erica uttered with a phony expression. "Mrs. Miller, you'd better to apologize first, after all, you hit her in the beginning. Or it won't be so simple. Elaine is very angry right now."
Susanna turned to Elaine. "Have you forgotten what I still have? You really want to hit me?"
Elaine suddenly calmed down, trembling with anger. "Susanna, you are despicable!"
"I learned from you." Susana spoke calmly and gently.
Seeing Elaine's frustrated but hesitant expression, Susanna felt a sense of satisfaction deep down.
Maud snorted, "If she won't hit you, I will! Do you still have leverage on me?"
Elaine's eyes lit up with a plan. She thought, 'Right, if I can strip Susanna naked and take some photos, this wench won't be able to threaten me anymore.'
Susanna noticed the approaching guard and grew wary. She scanned for an opportunity to escape. With Dick still outside, she could be safe once she reached the studio area.
"Stop!" Aaron showed up.
A deep voice echoed.
Aaron appeared from the side, walking firmly and powerfully, with his narrow eyes deep and mysterious.
Susanna looked up at Aaron's handsome eyes, sensing a hidden depth, but she couldn't quite grasp it.
She glanced briefly and then quickly averted her gaze.
When Erica saw Aaron, she ran over joyfully and around arms with him. "Aaron, I thought you had urgent matters to attend to? Is all the work done?"
She hadn't expected Aaron to return.
Aaron halted his steps, gazing down at Erica. "Let go."
Erica looked embarrassed, releasing his arm and continued. "Aaron, the engagement has started; let's go."
Maud also nodded. "Yes, we've wasted enough time; we can't continue like this. Erica, quickly call your brother and ask if their work is done so they can come over."
Erica hurriedly called Edward, but there was no answer.
She sent a text to Edward, not expecting a reply, but it was fine; having Aaron was enough.
Only Elaine was dissatisfied. "Wait a minute; did I just get hit by Susanna for no reason? Aaron, you've arrived just in time; Susanna just attacked me!"
Upon hearing Elaine's complaint, Susanna stood expressionless, offering no explanation.
After a moment, Aaron stood before her, his polished shoes gleaming.
In a low voice, he asked, "Aren't you going to explain?"
"Why should I explain? Why should I say more you would never believe me?"
Susanna looked up at him, meeting his gaze. She saw a hint of concern rather than disdain or superiority.
Did she misinterpret something?
Aaron, towering over her, gazed at her with complex emotions. He had been pondering outside for a while and found his thoughts in disarray.
He never expected it was Susanna to persuade Austin to perform surgery on his grandmother, without mentioning it at all!
He then thought of the intimate relationship between her and Austin, feeling a sudden suffocation as if he had lost something in an instant.
In a low voice, Aaron said, "Susanna, I feel like I've never truly understood you."
Susanna countered, "Likewise, so don't look at me with those eyes, because you don't understand at all."
Susanna felt that Aaron was acting strangely at that moment.
Elaine, standing nearby, couldn't help but interject. "Susanna, my cousin asked you to explain. Don't evade the issue."
Susanna replied directly, "Yes, I hit her."
"Aaron, you heard it; Susanna admitted to hitting!"
Susanna stood defiantly, just as she had from the beginning.
Aaron met her gaze, suddenly recalling the many times he had seen her eyes over the past three years, choosing to ignore them each time and disbelieve her words.
Finally, Aaron emphasized, "Apologize!"
A hint of mockery flashed in Susanna's eyes; nothing had changed.
Elaine triumphantly said, "Susanna, did you hear that? Aaron wants you to apologize!"
In the next moment, Aaron turned to Elaine. "Elaine, I want you to apologize to her!"
"Aaron, did you misspeak? How could I possibly apologize to Susanna?" Elaine was confused.
Aaron's tone was icy. "She's your sister-in-law; show some respect."
His words caused a great stir in the room!
Susanna stared in astonishment at Aaron. Did he not realize he was getting engaged today? Was he not afraid of Erica shedding tears in front of him?
The next moment, Erica did burst into tears, crying, "Aaron!"
Maud exclaimed, "Aaron, if Susanna is Elaine's sister-in-law, what about Erica? What should she do?"
