Chapter 412 Her Brother is Very Fierce

"Susanna, if you can't remember, don't sweat it. It's probably not worth remembering anyway. But chill, we're all here for you. Right now, the big deal is getting that bone marrow to the hospital. Charles is still waiting."

Susanna thought about Charles waiting in the vacuum chamber and kept quiet.

She had already told Aaron to stay away, but he didn't listen. Let Brian knock some sense into him.

If he ran into Edward later, he might not have died, but he would definitely have gotten messed up.

An hour later, they pulled up at the hospital.

Susanna grabbed the box with the bone marrow and headed inside. Michael, in his white coat, walked up to her. "Got the bone marrow?"

"Yeah, it's right here."

"Hand it over. We'll test it ASAP, and if it's good, we can start the treatment right away."

Susanna nodded. After giving the bone marrow to Michael, she went straight to the vacuum chamber to see Charles.

She walked in, and there was Charles, a little boy playing with building blocks.

Seeing him, her eyes got all teary. She rushed over and said, "Charles."

Charles heard his name, looked up, saw her, put down the blocks, walked to the side of the chamber, and in his sweet little voice said, "Mommy, you're back."

"Yep, I brought the bone marrow. We can start the treatment soon. Once you're better, you can go to school like other kids. Excited?"

Susanna had been waiting for this day forever.

Because Charles wasn't healthy like other kids, he spent most of his time in the hospital.

Now that his illness was finally going to be treated, Susanna's eyes got red. "I'm sorry I didn't give you a healthy body."

Charles, all serious, said, "Mommy, it's not your fault."

Charles thought, 'It was Aaron's fault.'

Susanna blew on the glass and drew a heart. Charles saw it, got all shy, and in his sweet voice said, "Lillian came to see me this morning. She also talked about Aaron."

"What did Lillian say?"

Charles frowned, "That traitor, she got sweet-talked by Aaron. But I'm not that easy. I won't forgive him just like that."

Susanna knew Lillian still had a thing for Aaron deep down.

She looked at Charles, his little face a mini Aaron.

She smiled, "We'll talk about that later. Right now, you need to get better, so you can face Aaron head-on someday."

She realized Charles's temper was just like Aaron's. They not only looked alike but acted alike too.

Susanna chatted with Charles for a bit. Then, a blonde girl in a white lab coat, looking super skinny, walked over.

Seeing the blonde girl, Susanna's face twisted with concern. "Why are you losing weight again?"

The blonde girl shrugged it off. "The side effects of the latest treatment are hitting hard."

Susanna sighed. The girl in front of her was Michael's sister, Emma. Susanna had been using Emma's identity to move around, so when Aaron and his crew tried to dig up her past, they only found the Brown family.

Emma had a rare disease, kinda like Charles, so she couldn't live a normal life.

Charles's condition was a bit better; his illness was triggered by being born too early. But Emma had this rare disease that made her treatment way tougher.

Emma was used to it. She looked at Charles and said, "Finally, Charles can get treated. I thought he'd bug me in the lab forever. Once he's better, he should scram. Kids are the worst."

Charles shot back, "Trust me, I don't wanna stay here either."

Susanna could tell Charles and Emma got along well. She smiled at Emma and said, "I believe you'll get better one day too."

Emma nodded. "I believe so too. I've been working on a new drug that might just cure me."

"Absolutely."

Susanna knew Emma was super smart despite her health issues. Over the years, she'd developed a bunch of drugs in Michael's lab, but none had cured her own disease.

Soon, Michael showed up with the medical team. He looked at Susanna and said, "The bone marrow test came back good. We're starting the treatment now. You should wait outside."

Susanna nodded. She looked at Charles and said, "Charles, hang in there! I'll be waiting for you outside."

After leaving the treatment room, Susanna's smile faded, replaced by worry.

Michael said the bone marrow transplant should help Charles, but there were no guarantees.

She hoped that after this, Charles could go to school and make friends like a normal kid.

While waiting, Susanna suddenly remembered something and turned to her secretary. "Send someone to check on Brian and Aaron at the airport. If Aaron's dead, I'll have to go collect his body."

The secretary nodded. "I'll get someone on it right away."

Soon, Edward and Aviana showed up, with Lillian tagging along.

When Lillian saw her, she ran over. "Mommy, is Charles gonna get better?"

"That's right. After this surgery, Charles will be as healthy as you. It's all thanks to you; you saved Charles."

Lillian beamed with pride. She always knew she was smart.

The surgery took forever. Lillian fell asleep while waiting outside.

Just then, Susanna saw Brian walk in, looking rough. She noticed a cut on the corner of his mouth, clearly from earlier.

Was this Aaron's doing?
