Chapter 154 Your Robe Is A Bit Loose

Brenda saw Aaron come out and immediately left the bedroom, thoughtfully closing the door behind her.

Out of the corner of her eye, Susanna noticed Aaron coming out. She paused and looked up at him, saying, "Well, I'll be careful not to drop food on the bed while I'm eating."

She knew Aaron very well. He had a strong aversion to messiness and considered eating in bed a strict no-no.

However, her hunger outweighed her concern for cleanliness at the moment.

After all, when a pregnant woman was hungry, nothing can stop her. The two little ones in her belly paid no mind to such rules and were making their hunger known without hesitation.

Aaron stood by the bed, his short golden hair still a bit wet, with some strands hanging over his forehead, making him look less stern than during the day and adding a touch of elegance.

His bathrobe hung loosely, revealing his well-defined chest. Susanna even saw a drop of water slide down from his chest and disappear into the depths of his collar.

Susanna looked up at the handsome man in front of her and inexplicably swallowed.

Aaron looked down at her, his tone somber. "You and Dick from Epic Horizon seem to be getting along well, even going as far as meeting his mom."

Susanna was surprised by Aaron's words and replied immediately, "It's not what you think. Last time, Dick got hurt because of me, so I invited him to dinner. As for his mother, we just happened to run into her when she was bringing food to him, so we all had a meal together."

She and Dick were not in a romantic relationship.

When Aaron heard her explanation, the displeasure in his eyes dissipated quite a bit. So that was how it was.

Aaron's voice took on a deeper tone. "So, don't I deserve a meal as well? Who was the one who flew in a helicopter to rescue you when you were kidnapped and brought to the mountains?"

Susanna put down the snack in her hand. "I think Mr. Abbott is too busy to have time for this meal, so I'll just keep my gratitude in my heart and wish Mr. Abbott a successful career and a peaceful life."

Aaron was so angry at her words that he felt a bit of heartache. She was willing to treat Epic Horizon's Dick to a meal, but not him. What an ungrateful woman.

He even suspected that she was sent by God to punish him.

Aaron suppressed his displeasure, asking, "Have you considered changing jobs? Staying at Epic Horizon won't do you any good. Besides, Dick doesn't seem like a good person."

Dick was just like his mother. His eyes were constantly shifting, and he always seemed to have ulterior motives. Did he truly believe that no one could see right through him?

It was clear that Dick had bad intentions towards Susanna. If she stayed at Epic Horizon, who knew what might happen in the future?

Susanna paused before saying, "No need for now."

Aaron was a bit angry. "Is that Dick so important to you that you can't bear to leave?"

She lowered her eyes. "Think whatever you want."

Anyway, she would be leaving Lindwell for Novaria in a few months. It would be easy to resign from Epic Horizon, but joining a big corporation would have a greater impact on her.

"Susanna, if it weren't for Grandma, I wouldn't care about you."

Aaron angrily turned and went to the walk-in closet. He was worried that if he continued facing Susanna, he wouldn't know what he might say.

Susanna sat on the bed alone, silently finishing all the snacks on the plate.

She wiped her mouth and lay down on the bed, still feeling a bit dizzy and sleepy from the alcohol, wanting to rest for a while.

When Aaron came out in a new suit, he saw Susanna lying on the bed, fast asleep, her summer dress hiked up, revealing her slender legs.

His gaze fell on her legs. If he didn't know Susanna had been drinking, he would have thought she was trying to seduce him.

Ever since he proposed the divorce, she had changed, always provoking him to the point where he was seething with anger, yet he felt powerless to confront her.

Aaron looked at her for a long time before finally turning and quietly leaving the bedroom.

He instructed Brenda, "Once Susanna wakes up, ensure she is given something to sober up and make sure she recollects this."

"I understand, Mr. Abbott. Don't worry. I'll take good care of Mrs. Abbott," replied Brenda.

Hearing the term "Mrs. Abbott," Aaron said nothing and turned to leave the villa.

The assistant waiting outside was sweating profusely but didn't dare to rush in, only waiting for Aaron to come out.

Seeing Aaron appear, the assistant almost cried with joy, "Boss, the meeting has already started on time. I've informed everyone that it has been switched to a video conference mode. The computer in the car is ready."

"Okay."

Aaron bent down to get into the car and immediately opened his computer to join the meeting.

If it weren't for Susanna, he wouldn't have been delayed for so long today.

When Susanna woke up, she yawned and got out of bed. She had only intended to rest for a while but ended up sleeping for a long time.

She picked up her phone and saw that it was already evening.

Luckily, she had told Madison that she would be working late. Otherwise, if her brothers found out she had been drinking whiskey in a private room at noon, she would be in big trouble!

"Mrs. Abbott, you're awake?"

The maid, Brenda, came in with a glass of lemon water, "Drink some water; it'll help. What would you like for dinner? I'll make it."

Susanna drank some lemon water, feeling much more awake. "Don't bother I'm about to leave."

She thought it was better to leave as soon as possible.

After all, she and Aaron were about to get divorced, and staying here any longer would be inappropriate.

As Susanna got up to leave, Brenda hesitated, "Mrs. Abbott, since you're back, could you do me a favor?"

"I've been gone for so long. What could I possibly help you with?" Susanna asked.

Brenda started to cry. "I've been in charge of Mr. Abbott's closet lately, but I keep getting scolded. No matter what I do, Mr. Abbott seems dissatisfied."

Susanna sighed. She understood Brenda's feelings very well, as she had also learned Aaron's preferences bit by bit.

Susanna walked into the walk-in closet, looking at the familiar layout. She had spent three years working hard here and knew every corner well.

She said calmly, "If the weather is bad, choose this color for the inner layer and this tie. If the weather is good, choose this color for the suit jacket. If he's in a bad mood, go with this combination. If he's in a good mood, just use the good weather combination."

"Mr. Abbott, I can check the weather, but how do I know if he's in a good mood or not?"

This stumped Susanna. She simply said, "Then pick two outfits and let him choose. Don't make decisions for him. He's picky, domineering, and hard to please. No matter what you do, he won't be satisfied."

"Susanna, so this is how you talk about me behind my back?"

Suddenly, the air became very quiet. Brenda looked terrified and stammered, "Mr. Abbott?"
