Chapter 135 Fear Was Not in Her Vocabulary

Susanna noted the grave expressions on Edward and Aviana's faces. She pondered, 'Are they planning to reprimand me for the kidnapping scheme orchestrated by my foster parents?'

Feeling a bit guilty, she set down her bowl. "Alright, what do you want to say?"

Edward uttered, "Susanna, Aviana and I have thought about this for a long time. Would you consider moving to Novaria with us?"

Aviana, who was sitting beside her, looked at her and Madison. "Rest assured, if you agree to come with us to Novaria, the whole family will move. We will also arrange for Mr. Everhart to be transferred to a hospital there. Once we're in Novaria, we can all look out for each other."

Susanna instinctively glanced at Madison when she heard that. It seemed perfect for her, after all, she was carrying Aaron's child and had planned to return to Novaria to give birth safely.

However, Madison had lived in Lindwell all her life, and it might not be so easy to uproot her entirely.

Madison hesitated for a moment. "I need to think about this."

Susanna held Madison's hand. "You don't have to make any decisions because of me. I'll support your choices. I made a commitment to look after you and Vincent in your later years, and that commitment remains unwavering."

After the accident that had taken the Everharts' only child, Susanna had become their sole remaining connection. She knew Madison had always treated her as her own and had given her everything. If she wanted to return to Novaria, Madison would not stand in her way. However, she could never bear to leave Madison behind.

Edward added, "You don't need to decide right away. We have plenty of time. Susanna, after what happened with your foster parents, Aviana and I feel deeply guilty for not protecting you."

Susanna shook her head. "It's not your fault. But I doubt they'll cause any more trouble after this incident."

Edward nodded, his eyes cold. "Yes, they won't be able to bother you again."

This time, they would make sure that family paid the price. They would likely spend the rest of their lives in prison. Initially, they had considered letting Susanna's foster parents off the hook, but some people simply refused to learn.

Shortly after, the rest of her brothers arrived at the house. When they confirmed that she was safe, they breathed a collective sigh of relief. When Susanna let out a yawn, everyone gradually dispersed.

Edward led his brothers out of the house, his face stern as he looked at Daniel. "We must resolve Susanna's relationship with her foster parents."

"Don't worry, Edward. I've already contacted them. If they want to protect Maxwell, they must sign the agreement to terminate the adoption."

Previously, they hadn't paid much attention to the foster parents, focusing instead on bonding with Susanna. They hadn't expected the foster parents to be so bold. This time, they would root out the problem completely.

Back in her room, Susanna lay down to rest as she recalled her kidnapping. It felt like a dream.

She closed her eyes and dreamed of Aaron again. He was dressed in camouflage and descending from a helicopter. He stood firmly in front of the van, silently extending his hand to her.

Her heart raced as she looked at his outstretched hand.

The next morning, Susanna woke up, remembering her dream from the night before. She quickly washed her face with cold water, determined not to be swayed by Aaron's small acts of kindness.

She and Aaron were from different worlds.

She had to steady her emotions. Moreover, she had taken Aaron's child without his knowledge. If he discovered the truth, he would likely insist that she terminate the pregnancy, especially since he had previously expressed his aversion to having children.

Susanna was now wide awake as she contemplated this. Placing her hand on her belly, she made a firm decision to safeguard her baby and guarantee its safe arrival into the world, regardless of the challenges ahead.

After washing up and changing, she received a call from Austin. "Susanna, it's time for your prenatal check-up. Make sure to come by."

"Alright, I know. I have classes today, but I'll find some time to come over." Susanna glanced at her schedule; her classes were quite full for the next couple of days.

Grabbing her textbooks, she headed straight to school. It had only been a weekend, but it felt like an eternity had passed.

Fortunately, everything had passed without major incident.

Susanna arrived at the classroom as the advisor came over and said, "Class, you all need to attend an event this afternoon. Sliverpeak Innovations is establishing a scholarship fund at our school. If you perform well academically, you could receive a scholarship from Sliverpeak Innovations. So, you should all work hard!"

Sliverpeak Innovations?

Susanna recalled that her old neighborhood had also been managed by Sliverpeak Innovations. She thought, 'Why does this company keep appearing in my life?'

However, that was Erica's brother's company. Last time, that vile woman had used the relocation issue to threaten her. Nevertheless, she wouldn't be intimidated.

The advisor called her over. "Susanna, Sliverpeak Innovations is forming a project team, and given your outstanding abilities, I plan to recommend you and the class representative to join. It is imperative that you bring honor to our school and motivate Sliverpeak Innovations to enhance their investments in our facilities and job opportunities."

Susanna hesitated. "Can I think about it, Sir?"

She would be fine with any other company, but this was Sliverpeak Innovations.

She didn't want to get involved with Erica. Although Sliverpeak Innovations was known for its fairness, Erica had played tricks behind the scenes during the H.F. International Design Competition.

Even though the outcome had been good, she didn't want to waste her time.

"Susanna, this is a great opportunity for you. You're the first-place winner of the last H.F. International Design Competition, and if you don't join this project team, it would reflect poorly on the school. Can you tell me why you're concerned? If there's a problem, the school will help you resolve it," the advisor said.

Susanna found herself at a loss for words; her reasons were hard to explain.

But she wasn't afraid of Erica; she just found it troublesome.

Taking a deep breath, Susanna said, "Alright, I'll join the project team."

There would always be a way to overcome any difficulties she faced!

After lunch, her good friend Flandre, who had no classes in the afternoon, accompanied her to the venue for the Sliverpeak Innovations scholarship ceremony.

As Susanna and Flandre walked in, she quickly caught a strong whiff of perfume. There was no need to guess who it was.

No one in the world used perfume like Elaine.

Sure enough, she turned and saw Elaine, with Erica by her side.

Flandre immediately frowned. "Susanna, isn't that the wretch we ran into at the mall last time?"

Susanna nodded. It truly was a small world.
