Chapter 583 Maud Was About to Go Crazy Again

Susanna figured it was still a good idea to get the kids' input. Charles jumped in first, "Madison's still waiting for us at home."

Lillian, a bit shy, suggested, "How about we pick up Madison and go out to eat together?"

Susanna nodded. "Sounds good. Eating at home all the time is a pain."

Once she agreed, Lillian quickly called Madison, who answered right away, "Lillian, are you back?"

Lillian replied, "Madison, let's go out to eat."

"Go out to eat? Who's all going?"

"Just the four of us."

Madison asked, a bit unsure, "Is Mr. Abbott there too?"

Aaron chimed in, "Yeah, I just left the hospital with them."

Madison replied quickly, "Got it. If you aren't coming back for dinner, I'll go out and have some fun. I haven't been out in days. You enjoy and come back later." With that, Madison hung up. She didn't want to bother them.

Susanna was surprised at how straightforward Madison was. Lillian looked up at Susanna. "So, are we still going?"

Susanna nodded. "Yep, let's go." She could tell the kids were really excited about this meal.

They headed straight to the restaurant. The secretary was waiting outside and opened the door. "Your reservation is ready."

Susanna led the kids inside, with Aaron right behind. He gave the secretary a nod. "Good job." A good secretary always knew how to make the boss's life easier.

Aaron used to be all about work with no personal life. Pleasing a boss like that wasn't easy. But now, things were simpler. Keeping the kids happy and helping Aaron's relationship with Susanna and the kids made it easy to please him.

Susanna led the kids into the restaurant. "Maud, isn't that Susanna?" Susanna heard a familiar voice and looked up to see Maud standing with Ivy, a middle-aged woman who loved to stir up trouble.

Maud looked worn out and her face soured when she saw Susanna. After all, Susanna had reported her, forcing her to return to the country. But then Maud saw Charles and was shocked at how much he looked like Aaron.

Ivy kept going, "Look at Susanna, she still has the nerve to show up in Lindwell with two kids. Who's that little boy? Could he be Susanna's illegitimate child?"

"Shut up!" Maud cut Ivy off and walked straight towards Susanna, her eyes locked on Charles.

Susanna sensed something was wrong and quickly shielded Charles and Lillian. "What do you want?"

Maud stared at Charles behind Susanna and said emotionally, "Who is this little boy?"

Susanna's expression turned cold. "I don't owe you any explanations. Leave us alone."

"Susanna, do you think I won't find out if you don't tell me? This little boy looks exactly like my son. It's obvious he's his child. How dare you hide this from me?"

Maud always thought Aaron only had a daughter and was almost in despair. Now she discovered Susanna had a son too. Was she hiding him to make demands?

"That's quite funny. Why should I tell you? These two kids are mine, and I have the right to decide whether to tell anyone about their existence."

"Susanna, this child belongs to the Abbott Family. You have no right to take him away. He must return to the Abbott Family where he belongs."

Charles peeked out and coldly said to Maud, "I don't want to go back to the Abbott Family."

Maud knelt down to look at Charles. "You're still young and don't understand your father's status. He is the president of the Abbott Group, a major family business in Lindwell. If you leave Susanna and return to the Abbott Family, everything there will be yours. You'll be very wealthy, you know?"

"So what? I don't care about those things at all."

"When you grow up, you'll regret it. So I'll make this decision for you. You'll thank me in the future." Maud thought Susanna was like Vivian, trying to use her son to return to the Abbott Family.

After saying this, Maud looked at Susanna. "Name your terms. I must keep this child in the Abbott Family."

Susanna replied, "Where do you get the courage to say that? Even Aaron doesn't dare to fight me for custody. What makes you think you can?"

"Because here in Lindwell, it's Abbott territory. If we were in Novaria, I couldn't do anything. But here, you don't get to decide."

Aaron chimed in, "Mom, I've told you before, don't interfere with Susanna and the kids. Have you forgotten so soon?"

"Aaron, did you know about this child? Why didn't you tell me earlier? He's my only grandson. Are you really going to leave him with Susanna?" Maud was confused. She just found out about Charles, but Aaron had known all along and kept it from her.

Aaron's expression was cold. "I won't fight for custody. They can stay with whoever they want."

"Then who will inherit the Abbott Family in the future? You don't even have a child."

"If no one inherits it, I'll donate everything to charity."

"No, I disagree. The Abbott Family's assets must be inherited by your child. This child must stay in the Abbott Family. You can't mess this up."

Susanna smirked at Maud. "What right do you have to fight for custody? You and Vivian almost killed him, you know?"

Maud was puzzled. "What do you mean?"

"Because the sick one wasn't Lillian, it was Charles. To hide Charles from Aaron, I lied and said Lillian was sick. Charles was already in a sterile room waiting for a bone marrow donation, but you and Vivian switched the marrow, almost causing his death."

Maud turned pale and explained nervously, "I didn't know he was the sick one."

"Whether you knew or not, you harmed the child. Just for that, you'll never win custody in court." Susanna would never let Charles return to the Abbott Family.
