Chapter 423 Did You Change My Pajamas?

Aaron swaggered into the bedroom, plopped Susanna on the bed, then dropped to his knees and yanked off her high heels.

Seeing a bunch of blisters on her feet, he gently started massaging them.

After all that, Aaron got up, glanced at Marcus and Scarlett standing nearby, and said coolly, "Get some milk."

Scarlett nodded without thinking, "Okay, I'll grab it."

Marcus stood there, looking a bit awkward. "Mr. Abbott, Scarlett can handle this. You can head out."

"Nope, I'm staying. You can go."

Marcus was pretty annoyed. Aaron's tone was so confident, he didn't even notice anything off.

At the party, Marcus noticed Susanna was acting differently around Aaron.

What if Aaron ended up marrying Susanna? He couldn't risk ticking him off.

Sticking to his job of solving problems for his boss, Marcus coughed and said, "Mr. Abbott, I'll leave Ms. Jones to you. But remember, you're just a bodyguard. Don't cross the line."

Aaron caught the hint and raised an eyebrow. "I won't do anything to her now."

Only then did Marcus leave the room, but he still felt uneasy.

Aaron said he wouldn't do anything to Susanna now. But what about later?

After Marcus left, Aaron sat by the bed, watching Susanna sleep soundly, still in her evening dress and makeup.

Soon, Scarlett came in with the milk, stammering, "I'll just leave it here."

Aaron ignored her.

Soon, Scarlett brought over a box, and Aaron shot it a cold glance, "What's that?"

"Makeup remover pads. When Ms. Jones gets drunk, I usually help her take off her makeup and change her clothes."

The next second, Aaron snatched the box from Scarlett's hand. "I'll handle it. You can go."

Scarlett's hand was suddenly empty. Remembering Marcus's orders, she hesitated and said reluctantly, "This is my job."

Aaron took off his sunglasses, his narrow eyes giving her an impatient look.

Scarlett was so scared she couldn't say a word and bolted from the room. Even though that bodyguard was pretty hot, his vibe was seriously intense!

Marcus had told her to keep an eye on Aaron, but she couldn't manage it!

In the room, Aaron used the makeup remover pads to clean Susanna's face. He'd heard that sleeping with makeup on was bad for the skin.

His movements were a bit clumsy, as he'd never done this before.

But right now, he was super patient.

The next day, Susanna woke up yawning. She stretched and saw the familiar ceiling of her home, her mind still a bit foggy.

She seemed to have gone to a business banquet last night, then something happened, and she apparently drank too much.

How did she get back?

"Awake?"

Aaron's deep voice came, and Susanna turned her head to see Aaron lounging on the sofa by the window, wearing just a white shirt, no tie, and a few buttons undone.

He was chilling on the sofa, holding something in his hand.

But when she saw what Aaron was holding, her mind went blank—it was a photo album!

Susanna immediately jumped up and rushed over. "Why are you snooping through my stuff?"

She snatched the album back, her heart pounding, worried that Aaron might see the photos of her with the two kids.

If Aaron saw Charles's photo, all her efforts would go down the drain.

Aaron's hand was suddenly empty, and he looked at Susanna standing there. "Why are you so freaked out? Got some nudes in there or something?"

He had just grabbed the album and hadn't even started flipping through it yet.

Hearing his words, Susanna let out a sigh of relief. "Of course, there are private photos in here. Can't let you see them."

She was talking, clutching the album, sneaking glances at the bedroom photos, terrified Aaron might spot the kid pics.

But weirdly, all the photos of her and the kids in the bedroom seemed to be gone.

What was going on?

Did Marcus handle this ahead of time?

Seeing her act all shady, Aaron got even more curious about the album. What was she hiding?

Susanna coughed and said, "By the way, why are you in my room?"

"Last night, someone got wasted, and I took care of her all night. She even talked in her sleep."

Susanna asked suspiciously, "What did I say in my sleep?"

Aaron's expression got a bit complicated. "Susanna, you hate me so much you were cursing me in your sleep!"

He had stayed by her side as she slept, only for her to start cursing, repeatedly mentioning his name.

Susanna's expression turned a bit guilty. She remembered the chaotic dreams she had last night and said confidently, "I probably dreamed about the past."

"You remembered?"

Susanna shook her head. "No, it was just a very chaotic dream. But in the dream, someone was indeed quite annoying. I don't know how I liked you before!"

Aaron's lips pressed into a thin line. "Sorry!"

Hearing his apology, Susanna's expression became a bit awkward. "Your apology is too late. You should leave now; I need to wash up and change."

She couldn't let Aaron stay in the bedroom, lest he discover something.

As Susanna walked to the dressing room, she touched her face and asked, "Did Scarlett forget to do my skincare last night? My skin feels so dry."

Aaron's voice came. "Scarlett didn't mention that to me."

What did he mean?

Susanna turned to look at him. "Did you remove my makeup last night?"

At that moment, she suddenly realized she was wearing a nightgown, not the dress from the banquet.

She paused and looked at Aaron. "Wait, who changed my clothes last night?"

Aaron raised an eyebrow. "What do you think?"

"Aaron, you're just a bodyguard. How could you change my clothes!"

Aaron remained calm. "You're Lillian's mother, it's only right for me to take care of you."

Susanna fell silent.

Her face turned red, and she grabbed a pillow from the bed and threw it at him. "I don't need your care."

Susanna, her face flushed, walked into the walk-in closet. After slamming the door shut, she covered her face with her hands.
