Chapter 374 Do you really think Nova is that good to you?

Susanna felt like this party was sucking the life outta her, dealing with these annoying women.

She shot a half-smile their way. "If you're so into kids, why not pop out a few more? Maybe enough for a soccer team, that'd be a blast."

Lvy huffed, "Aaron, did you hear what she just said to me?"

Aaron, cool as a cucumber, replied, "Honestly, she's got a point."

Lvy's face twisted, and she snapped, "Having your own kids beats being a stepmom any day."

Hearing that, Susanna grabbed a glass, feeling like she was about to lose it.

But Aaron, right next to her, casually said, "Aunt Ivy, didn't Uncle Breton just bring home a kid from somewhere? And you've been all over taking care of him, right?"

As soon as he dropped that bomb, Susanna's curiosity piqued. She really wanted to know if it was true.

Lvy lost her cool and shot back, "Aaron, what nonsense are you spouting?"

Maud quickly shot Aaron a look. "Yeah, Aaron, where'd you hear that? Stop spreading rumors."

A rich lady nearby sensed the tension and quickly changed the subject. "This place is awesome. We wanna throw a party here next time. I heard you need a member's recommendation. Maud, can you hook us up?"

"Yeah, Maud, you're the only member here."

Basking in the compliments, Maud grinned. "Sure thing, I'll recommend you guys."

"Since Aaron's tying the knot, I'm thinking of hosting it here. The scenery's great, service is top-notch, and it's super private. But do they even do weddings here?"

Susanna jumped in, "They do custom wedding receptions and even bring in the chief designer from Velvet Sky Ballroom to create a unique venue."

Everyone turned to look at her.

Susanna froze for a sec, realizing she probably shouldn't have said that.

The rich lady smiled, "Perfect! Didn't expect Ms. Ramirez to know so much about this place. Planning your wedding here?"

Vivian and Maud's faces went stiff, eyes darting to Aaron with worry.

Aaron calmly looked at Susanna and asked, "Do you like it here?"

"Totally, the place is gorgeous, the garden's cleverly designed, perfect for birthdays, proposals, engagements, and weddings. No woman could resist a place like this, right?"

Susanna rattled off all the perks of Velvet Sky Ballroom, but she felt Aaron's gaze was kinda weird. Was he getting suspicious?

But even if Aaron dug around, he wouldn't find out she owned the place.

The rich lady chimed in, "Mr. Abbott, catch what Ms. Ramirez is hinting at?"

Elaine shouted, "Aaron, if you guys have your marriage here, you gotta book the whole place."

Everyone started cheering, and Vivian looked so mad she couldn't even eat.

Susanna's mouth twitched. Marriage? No way she'd marry Aaron again!

She slowly stood up and said, "Excuse me, I need to hit the restroom."

She was stuffed and didn't wanna waste more time here; she'd rather wander around her hotel.

Aaron watched her walk away, his eyes getting all complicated. Did she just smirk when she heard the word "marriage"? Man, his suspicions about her were growing by the minute.

Meanwhile, Susanna was wandering around Velvet Sky Ballroom, then headed to the next building to use the restroom.

She spotted Elaine and Vivian walking in, one after the other. Elaine's walk was all weird, probably 'cause her fancy shoes were killing her heels.

Susanna couldn't help but admire Elaine's guts, rocking those brand-name shoes even if they were giving her blisters.

Elaine saw her and came over with a big, fake smile. "Nova, this place is amazing. If you and Aaron get hitched here, it'd be perfect."

"It's way too early to talk about that with Aaron and me."

Susanna never even thought about marrying Aaron; the idea was just ridiculous.

Elaine shot a glance at Vivian and said, "Nova, don't say that. Aaron's been single for ages, and now he's with you, he must be serious. When you become a member here, hook me up so I can throw a birthday bash."

Susanna knew that was Elaine's real motive.

Vivian, not liking Elaine's words, chimed in, "Elaine, next month Aunt Maud's throwing a birthday party for Ramond here. Make sure you come."

Elaine rolled her eyes. "What do I care about Ramond's birthday? He's not my kid. Just 'cause you buttered up Aunt Maud with a gift and got her to host Ramond's party, don't get all high and mighty. And bringing a fashion director to the party? Isn't it 'cause you borrowed her dress, messed it up and couldn't pay for it, so you dragged her along?"

Elaine knew Vivian was just showing off about Ramond's party, and she wasn't having it.

Susanna raised an eyebrow. "No wonder Ms. Nguyen's got a woman tagging along who doesn't look like she's from money."

"She's just like Vivian, trying to break into the rich crowd. Do they even know their place?"

Vivian's face turned red. She'd put up with Elaine's crap for too long, all to get in good with the Abbott family. But she didn't expect Elaine to turn on her so fast!

Vivian sneered, "Elaine, you think you're any better? Vain, competitive, and useless, always mooching off your parents. Besides your shoes, everything you're wearing is fake. Do you really think Nova's good to you?"

Susanna raised an eyebrow. What was Vivian getting at? Did the fashion director with Vivian notice something?

Elaine sneered back, "Fake? Are you blind? I bought these at the show. You, with no real job, where do you get off telling real from fake?"

Vivian shot back, "I can't tell, but the fashion director I brought today used to work at DivineDynasty and knows their stuff. She spotted your high-quality knockoffs right away! Do you really think Nova's good to you?"

Elaine was stunned, looking at Susanna in disbelief.
