Chapter 102 He Remembered Amelia's Beautiful Face

Brittany's health has worsened over the past two years. She was now completely unable to walk and needed to use a wheelchair. Since the airport was busy, Brittany arrived early at Davis Manor.

Rachel settled Brittany in before going to the airport to pick up Amelia and the others.

When Amelia arrived home, she saw Brittany anxiously waiting in the yard of Davis Manor. Upon seeing Amelia get out of the car, Tom immediately pushed Brittany toward Amelia.

"Amelia." Brittany's voice was somewhat excited.

Although she had kept in touch with Amelia over the past three years, seeing Amelia in person brought tears to her eyes.

Amelia held Brittany's hand with a smile on her face, her eyes also turning red.

"Grandma, it's been a while."

As she spoke, Amelia slightly bent over and hugged Brittany. Brittany patted Amelia's back and wiped the tears from the corner of her eyes.

"Where's the child?"

Rachel brought the child out. The child had seen Brittany through video calls before, and ever since they had the child, Brittany would video call Amelia almost every day.

Anna looked puzzled when she saw the person on the phone appear in front of her. She clapped her hands, looking adorable.

Seeing Anna's confused expression, Brittany's smile became even more loving.

"Anna, I am your great-grandmother."
Anna nodded. "Great-grandmother."

Hearing Anna's address to her, Brittany felt very happy. She opened her arms. Anna was not afraid of strangers at all and reached out her arms to hug Brittany.

Rachel carefully placed Anna in Brittany's arms. When Brittany held Anna herself, she couldn't help but tear up again.

Anna reached out her hand to wipe Brittany's tears.

"Don't cry. Don't cry."

Anna didn't understand why Brittany was crying, but she earnestly comforted her. Seeing Anna like this, Brittany's heart softened, and her tears couldn't stop.

"I'm getting older, and I cry easily."

Tom hurriedly handed Brittany a handkerchief.

Although Davis Manor had not been inhabited for a long time, Rachel had always had people come to clean it up over the years. When they entered the house, they found that all the facilities in Davis Manor were still the same as when they left.

Daniel helped move the luggage inside. Rachel noticed that he didn't take his own luggage out and said, "The Vanderbilt family's property in Kasfee has been sold. Daniel, why don't you stay at Davis Manor for a while? I've had the servants prepare a guest room for you."

Amelia and Vincent had taken good care of Daniel during their three years in Fondaniss.

The Davis family had already considered Daniel as their own.

Daniel's parents had also talked to Vincent about adopting Daniel as their son.

But Daniel refused. He didn't want to become Amelia's brother.

However, over the years, Amelia had indeed treated Daniel like a brother. Daniel understood that as well, but he still insisted on not becoming Amelia's brother.

He always felt that one day, he would have a chance.

Vincent smiled and said, "Daniel, why don't you stay here?"

Daniel nodded in response to Vincent's request.

Rachel then asked the servants to bring Daniel's luggage in.

Brittany held Anna and couldn't help but worry about Frederick.

Over the years, she had urged Frederick to go to Fondaniss to find Amelia. Frederick just wouldn't do it.

Madison had entered politics in recent years. Frederick and Madison's family were also quite close. Madison's husband, Johnathan, wanted to introduce a girlfriend to Frederick.

This year, they brought several suitable girls to Hastings Manor to be introduced to him.

Just because Brittany kept urging Frederick to go to Fondaniss to find Amelia, Frederick asked Johnathan to give the profiles to Brittany so she could pick a wife for him again.

Frederick never went to Fondaniss, no matter how pressing the matter was, he always sent Felix instead.

Brittany was infuriated by his attitude, feeling for the first time that she didn't understand her grandson, whom she had raised.

"Daniel, thank you for taking care of Amelia and Anna for these past three years, I don't know how to appreciate you enough," Brittany looked at Daniel gratefully.

Daniel's face showed a kind smile, and his attitude was polite and humble.

"Mrs. Hastings, please don't mention it. Amelia and I grew up together, and she treated me like a brother. It is only right for me to take care of her, and since Anna is Amelia's daughter, it's only natural for me to protect her."

As Brittany listened to Daniel's words, she paused for a moment, realizing the hidden hostility in her own words earlier, and couldn't help but feel ashamed.

Brittany didn't leave until she had dinner at Davis Manor.

Back at Hastings Manor, Tom pushed Brittany into the house and saw Frederick sitting on the couch, reading a magazine.

Seeing Brittany return, Frederick put down the magazine and said in a low voice, "You're back so late, where did you go?"

Since Brittany became unable to walk, Frederick moved back to Hastings Manor.

Thinking about Daniel's performance at Davis Manor today, and how he remembered when Anna would be hungry, when she needed water, and how well he controlled the water temperature, Brittany became even more dissatisfied with Frederick.

Daniel's behavior was so good that Brittany felt ashamed of her hostile attitude toward him. If Amelia was her own granddaughter, she also hoped that Amelia could choose a man like Daniel.

Brittany was a bit angry, so her attitude toward Frederick became unfriendly.

"I go wherever I want to go," Brittany said, raising an eyebrow.

After Amelia left, Brittany had been angry with him for a long time, but since he moved back to Hastings Manor a year ago, Brittany's attitude had softened.

It had been a long time since she spoke to him in the manner she did today. Frederick couldn't help but rub his forehead.

"Who angered you this time?"

Brittany snorted coldly, "You!"

Frederick smiled helplessly and walked to Brittany's side.

"What have I done to make you angry again?"

Brittany coldly snorted and pressed the wheelchair's drive button. "Don't block the way," she said.

Her wheelchair bumped into Frederick. Frederick immediately moved aside. Brittany went straight to the bedroom and forcefully shut the door.

Frederick looked at the tightly closed bedroom door and asked Tom, who was nearby, "What's going on with her?"

Tom seemed hesitant, his gaze shifting. His voice was barely audible as he said, "Mrs. Brittany Hastings went to Davis Manor."

"The younger Mrs. Hastings... no, Ms. Davis is back."

Frederick paused, recalling Amelia's beautiful face, but his expression quickly returned to his usual coldness.

"Oh," he replied lightly and sat back down on the couch, showing no further emotions.
