Chapter 478 My Whole Body Feels Uncomfortable
Scott stayed quiet for what felt like forever, and Amelia didn't bother to break the silence either. She was busy tidying up her desk, the only sound in the office being the rustling of papers.
Scott watched her cool demeanor, took a deep breath, and felt a flicker of anger. But he kept his temper in check and got up from his chair. "I'm heading out."
Amelia didn't even look up, just shifted her gaze from the documents in her hand to the computer screen.
Scott sighed to himself and sat back down. He said, almost pleading, "Amelia, come on, I'm still your patient. Do you have to be so cold to me?"
Amelia finally looked up, her expression distant. "So, Mr. Sinclair, what's bothering you today?" she asked calmly.
Scott met her cold eyes and took a deep breath. Through gritted teeth, he said, "I feel like crap, my whole body feels off."
Amelia watched his agitated behavior with a calm expression. "Then let's do a full-body checkup," she said.
Scott took another deep breath, frustrated by her businesslike attitude, and laughed bitterly. He abruptly got up and started to leave.
Amelia's cool voice stopped him. "Mr. Sinclair, not getting checked?"
Scott felt his brow twitch. He turned around and glared at her. "I'm not fucking sick," he snapped.
Amelia replied indifferently, "If you're not sick, stop coming to the hospital. People might think Mr. Sinclair is seriously ill."
With that, she went back to her work. Scott stared at her, trying to see any change in her expression. But Amelia's attitude remained unchanged.
Scott had heard about the party last night. Amelia rarely got into conflicts, let alone did anything out of line in front of others. But she had poured a drink on Nancy because of Frederick. Honestly, Scott had known Amelia for years and had never seen her lose her cool.
He stared at her for a long time, finally taking a deep breath and sitting back down.
Amelia looked up, a hint of confusion in her eyes.
Scott gritted his teeth and said quietly, "Since I'm here, I might as well get checked."
Hearing this, Amelia's gaze showed a slight flicker, thinking Scott was indeed out of his mind. She said coldly, "Driver's License."
Scott took out his Driver's License and handed it to her. Amelia didn't take it directly from his hand but glanced at the desk. "Put it on the desk," she said indifferently.
Scott's face darkened slightly, but he placed the Driver's License on the desk and pushed it toward her.
Only then did Amelia pick it up and place it on the scanner.
Scott's expression stiffened slightly, realizing what she was thinking. "Amelia, you don't think I was trying to use the excuse of handing you my Driver's License to touch you, do you?" he asked.
Amelia didn't bother answering Scott's question.
Scott's voice had a mix of embarrassment and anger. "Is that really what you think of me?"
Amelia still didn't respond. After recording his info, she asked calmly, "Is your address the one on your Driver's License?"
Scott shook his head. "Nope. Still at the old place."
Amelia asked, "Which place?"
Scott gritted his teeth. "The place you've been to."
Amelia frowned and looked up at him, clearly annoyed. "Mr. Sinclair, don't waste my time."
Scott felt a wave of frustration, staring deeply at her. "Have you forgotten?"
Amelia responded, "Yes."
Scott felt a tightness in his chest from her words, gritting his teeth as he gave his address. "Riverside Villas."
Amelia nodded, typing on the keyboard. "Some test results might not be available today. Leave your contact info, and someone will notify you when they're out."
Scott's face darkened even more. "Don't you even have my contact info?"
Amelia looked up at him. "I've never had your contact info."
Scott snapped, "My contact info hasn't changed all these years."
Amelia didn't want to discuss this further. She asked with a poker face, "What's your number?"
Scott stared at her, almost defiantly. "I forgot."
Amelia paused her typing and said, "Then don't fill it in. Come back to the hospital to get the report when you have time."
Scott frowned, realizing she didn't care about his anger at all. Even if he threw a tantrum, it wouldn't work on her.
He took a deep breath. "Why don't you give me your number, and I'll call you with my phone. That way, my number will show up on your phone," he said seriously, taking out his phone. He used to have her number, but it seemed she had changed it. He hadn't been able to reach her old number.
Scott held his phone, waiting for her to recite her number. At that moment, a young nurse walked to Amelia's office door, knocked, and said softly, "Dr. Davis, I need your signature on this document."
Amelia nodded, "Okay."
The young nurse walked in and handed the document to Amelia.
Amelia didn't sign it immediately but asked the nurse, "Do you have your phone with you?"
The young nurse nodded. "Yes."
Amelia smiled. "Can I borrow it?"
The nurse looked puzzled but handed her phone to Amelia.
Amelia didn't take the phone directly but explained with a smile, "Mr. Sinclair forgot his phone number. You give your number to him, and he will call you. Then you can tell me the number that shows up."
The nurse nodded blankly, looking at Scott with a bit of shyness, and quickly recited her number.
Scott's expression visibly darkened.
Amelia, however, kept her eyes on his phone. Seeing that Scott had no intention of entering the number, she urged, "Mr. Sinclair?"
Scott gritted his teeth, put his phone back in his pocket, and said in a low voice, "I remembered." In the end, he obediently gave his number.
