Chapter 106 We're Divorced, Don't Call Her Mrs. Hastings
Upon seeing the video, Sebastian immediately forwarded it to Frederick. Frederick's phone was mainly used for contacting colleagues and reading financial news, so he rarely watched short videos and messages. But when he saw the video forwarded by Sebastian, he decided to take a quick look.
In the video, he saw Daniel by Amelia's side, with a child in her arms. The child appeared to be around two years old, curled up sleepily on Amelia's shoulder. She looked a lot like Amelia, and her adorable appearance tugged at Frederick's heart. He closed the video with a stern face.
Sebastian seemed to worry that Frederick wasn't upset enough, so he sent a comment beneath the video. Seeing the comments praising Amelia, Daniel, and their family, Frederick couldn't help but furrow his brows. With a stern face, he messaged Sebastian back.
Frederick: [Don't you have anything else to do?]
Upon seeing Frederick's reply, Sebastian sent him a smirking emoji.
Sebastian: [I told you to go see Amelia when she first went abroad, but you insisted on your standoff. Now, she has a child.]
Reading the message, Frederick kept a stern face and didn't reply. Sebastian sent several more messages, but Frederick pretended not to see them and put away his phone.
Felix had prepared the meeting materials. The meeting would start in ten minutes. As he passed by Frederick's office, Felix knocked on the door and reminded him, "Mr. Hastings, the meeting will start in ten minutes."
Frederick sat coldly in his office chair and nodded. He looked gloomy.
Felix was taken aback. Seeing Frederick's expression, he didn't dare disturb him and quickly left his office.
The meeting began. Knowing that Frederick was in a bad mood, Felix sat silently in his seat, taking notes without making any noise.
Frederick's face was livid, and even the senior executives reporting data felt uneasy.
The profit data for this month had dropped by a few points compared to the previous month.
After the data presentation, everyone watched Frederick cautiously.
Just when they thought Frederick was about to explode, he knocked on the table and said, "Meeting adjourned."
After speaking, he stood up and left the meeting room.
No one knew what had happened. After Frederick left, they asked Felix, who was busy packing up his stuff.
"Felix, what happened to Mr. Hastings?"
Felix closed his laptop and looked up at the manager who was speaking to him. He answered seriously, "He's probably heartbroken."
Felix had learned earlier today that Amelia had come back. His uncle had reminded him to be careful during this time.
Now, internet users were all saying that Amelia and Daniel were together, and they even had a daughter.
Ever since Frederick divorced Amelia, he hadn't been with any woman. The Hastings family had always been trying to find a suitable wife for Frederick, but he rejected all of them.
Having been by Frederick's side for many years, Felix could guess what he was thinking.
Upon hearing Felix's words, the senior managers felt confused. Frederick and Amelia had divorced three years ago. In all these years, there hadn't been any other woman in Frederick's life. How could he suddenly be heartbroken?
Just as they were about to ask Felix for clarification, he walked out of the meeting room with his laptop.
Even if they wanted to ask anything, they couldn't catch up to Felix and ask anymore.
Meanwhile, at the mall, Anna was tired. Additionally, Amelia and Daniel were occasionally being secretly photographed.
Amelia was somewhat uncomfortable with it. So, she decided to go home.
As soon as they arrived home, Brittany called and invited Amelia to dinner at Hastings Manor. She told Amelia to bring Anna along.
Thinking about Brittany's difficulty with her legs, Amelia agreed to her request.
Vincent had to stay home to entertain guests and couldn't go with Amelia. So, Amelia could only take Anna to Hastings Manor. Rachel and the bodyguard also went with them.
Brittany told the chef to prepare a lot of food that Amelia liked.
Frederick had something to do later in the evening. He returned home to change clothes.
As he passed by the front yard, he saw Brittany sitting in a wheelchair, trimming the blooming flowers. She had a charitable smile on her face and seemed to be in a good mood.
In the past, whenever she saw him, Brittany would just give a dismissive hum and not bother with him. It was rare for her to talk to him with a smile.
"Are you having dinner at home tonight?"
Frederick glanced at the time. He still had half an hour. After changing his clothes, he wouldn't have time to have dinner with Brittany.
Brittany saw Frederick glance at his watch and she knew immediately that he had something important to do tonight.
She became immediately unhappy. "Why are you always so busy? You don't even have time to have dinner with me."
Frederick raised an eyebrow. "Tonight's meeting is very important, as it determines whether the company's new product can be launched on time next month. I will stay at home tomorrow night to have dinner with you."
Brittany snapped, angrily cutting off a flower branch.
Tom wanted to persuade Frederick, but Frederick had already walked into his room.
He sighed softly.
Brittany put down the scissors and said with a stern face, "Don't interfere with him."
Upon hearing her words, Tom obediently stood aside.
Frederick changed into a suit and went downstairs.
The chef was preparing dinner, and the aroma filled the air.
Since she had lost the use of her legs, Brittany liked to eat light food, and her meals rarely had strong flavors.
Frederick furrowed his brow and walked toward the kitchen, puzzled.
A nutritionist was helping on the side, while Mary was cooking.
Mary hadn't cooked for a long time. Seeing Mary busy, Frederick frowned and asked, "Are there guests coming to the house today?"
Frederick's voice startled Mary. She turned around and said, "Mrs. Hastings is coming."
Upon hearing Mary's words, Frederick squinted his eyes.
Mary looked at Frederick cautiously and asked softly, "Mr. Hastings, will you be having dinner at home?"
Frederick glanced at the ingredients prepared in the kitchen. "No."
After speaking, he left the kitchen with big strides. He said in a deep voice, "We're divorced, so don't call her Mrs. Hastings anymore."
