Chapter 175 Offending Him Somewhere
Frederick's deep eyes shifted away from Amelia, pulling out his phone from his pocket.
Daniel frowned slightly at the sight. "Amelia, since you're working, I'll leave first. I'll wait for you at home."
Amelia nodded and replied, "Okay."
Frederick had no intention of making a complaint call, but his phone vibrated coincidentally, so he took it out to check the message.
After Daniel left, he put his phone back in his pocket.
Amelia glanced at the medications prepared for Frederick on the computer and said,
"I've made a note for the pharmacy staff to label them. This time, they won't forget."
She finished and looked at Frederick, smiling lightly. "You can just go downstairs to get the medications."
Frederick's expression turned cold, his blue eyes seeming more displeased than when Daniel was there earlier.
Amelia was puzzled.
"Does Daniel live at the Davis Manor?" Frederick asked coldly.
When Daniel left and said he would wait for Amelia at home, Frederick was quite uncomfortable.
Amelia, looking down, organized the documents on her desk and softly said, "I think so."
Vincent acknowledged Daniel as his godson, so Daniel was considered part of the Davis family.
Moreover, Vincent and Daniel's father had been good friends for many years.
When they were abroad, the Vanderbilt family often helped them, so the two families had long been close to one family. Therefore, Amelia didn't see anything wrong with Daniel living at the Davis Manor.
Seeing Amelia's nonchalant demeanor, Frederick felt a heaviness in his heart.
He looked at Amelia intently, feeling quite displeased.
He stood up abruptly from his chair with a cold expression and left Amelia's office.
Amelia raised an eyebrow slightly and continued to organize the files.
However, she soon noticed Frederick's medical card on her desk.
She reached out, took the medical card, and brought it to the pharmacy for Frederick.
When Frederick arrived at the pharmacy, he realized he didn't have his medical card, but his identity was still valid through facial recognition.
So, without the medical card, the pharmacy staff still handed the medications to him.
As Amelia approached the pharmacy window with the medical card, Frederick had already received the medications.
She walked over, handed the medical card to Frederick, took the medications from his hand, and checked to ensure each medication had been properly labeled.
Frederick lowered his gaze, watching her serious expression, feeling a knot in his heart.
Frederick said, "Do you treat every patient like this?"
Amelia didn't look up, checking the medications in her hand, and nodded in response. "Yes."
Her previous patients were elderly people whose memories were fading. If not treated carefully, they could easily take the wrong medication.
So, Amelia took every patient very seriously.
Frederick had felt a slight relief when Amelia arrived earlier, but upon hearing her response, his face turned sullen again.
He had inexplicably hoped to hold a special place in Amelia's heart, which was why she cared so much about his health.
However, Amelia truly saw him only as a patient.
No wonder even after Amelia left the hospital three years ago, many patients still came to see her.
Frederick suppressed his discomfort.
After checking the medications, Amelia handed them to him.
Frederick took them, and Amelia could sense his anger as he received them.
She looked up at him, but Frederick turned and left directly.
Amelia pursed her lips and returned to her office.
During lunchtime, Vincent prepared a nutritious meal for Brittany and sent it over.
Amelia received a call and went to have lunch in Brittany's ward.
Although Brittany still couldn't speak, her condition was improving.
After eating the nutritious lunch prepared by Vincent, she smiled and gave him a thumbs up.
Vincent smiled and said, "I'm glad you liked it."
Brittany nodded eagerly, expressing how much she enjoyed it.
During their conversation, Cynthia and Harold also came to visit Brittany.
Cynthia was unaware that the last time Madison and Harold came to see Brittany, they had upset her.
So when she heard their voices, Brittany immediately raised her hand to gesture for Tom to escort them out.
She didn't want to see anyone from the Kingsley family now.
Harold quickly apologized upon seeing this. "Brittany, it was our fault last time. We've come to sincerely apologize to you this time. Madison already knows she was wrong. You two sisters don't need to be angry with each other. Please don't be angry."
Brittany remained indifferent, waving her hand coldly.
Tom promptly escorted the Kingsley couple out.
Cynthia noticed Anna sitting beside Brittany, her eyes radiating a kind light.
"Anna, I'm your grandmother." Cynthia urgently called out to Anna.
Amelia rubbed her forehead.
She had dealt with Madison, but it turned out Cynthia was the most stubborn one.
When Brittany heard Cynthia's words, she cast a stern gaze.
Cynthia's attention was completely on Anna, her eyes slightly red.
Vincent, seeing Cynthia's anxious expression, sighed and showed a hint of impatience in his eyes.
In the past, they could have a good conversation with the Kingsley couple, but now, seeing their persistence, Vincent, despite his good temper, couldn't help but be stirred up by their behavior.
Anna obediently sat beside Brittany, furrowing her brows at Cynthia's anxious look.
She didn't understand what the word grandmother meant.
But Anna could sense that no one liked them.
She forgot to move closer to Madison.
Madison reached out and pulled Anna into her arms.
Cynthia noticed Anna's guarded look toward her and her expression changed slightly.
She appeared saddened.
Tom had already escorted them out of the room.
Harold was trying to reason with Tom, but Tom remained unmoved.
The last time they came, Brittany was particularly agitated.
Her condition couldn't handle such stimulation, yet they treated her like this despite being relatives.
Such relatives were better off without.
After being driven out of Brittany's ward, Cynthia looked crestfallen.
Cynthia said, "It's all your fault. If you hadn't treated Amelia that way the first time she visited the Kingsley family, she wouldn't have prevented us from seeing Anna now."
Harold's face turned sullen. He had been the target of Cynthia's accusations and resentment the most during this period, and now he was losing his temper, his expression turning cold.
"Anna's just a child, nothing special! Dylan isn't dead. Let him find another woman and have another child!"
Harold left in anger and, turning the corner, coincidentally met Frederick, greeting him immediately.
Harold said, "Frederick, are you here to visit Brittany?"
Frederick's face remained cold, and he walked past him without saying a word.
Harold's expression stiffened, unsure of where he had offended him.
