Chapter 71 Intentionally Making Her Lose Face in Front of Frederick

Frederick lowered his gaze and looked at the woman in his arms. "Are you okay?"

Amelia shook her head, feeling a dense pain in her ankle that made her furrow her eyebrows.

"I'm fine."

She secretly sighed and stepped back from Frederick's embrace.

Amber also got up from the ground with Felix's support.

She stood on the side, her gaze on Frederick, full of hurt.

Rachel Gordon looked on as Amber accidentally bumped into Amelia, causing her to fall to the ground. Despite being the one who fell, Frederick's gaze never lingered on her, even for a moment.

Amber bit her lip tightly and could only apologize. "I'm sorry, Ms. Davis..."

Amelia interrupted her before she could finish her sentence, her voice cold and disinterested. "I'm fine."

Rachel's expression changes drastically when she sees Amelia being knocked over by Amber. She quickly rushed over, took hold of Amelia’s hand, and asked concernedly, "Are you okay?"

Amelia pursed her lips and softly responded, "I think I twisted my ankle."

Dealing with a sprained ankle while pregnant was a very difficult problem. After all, she was carrying a child, and most of the medicines used to treat sprains relied on promoting blood circulation and removing blood stasis, which couldn't be used in her situation.

Rachel immediately cast a icy glance at Amber. Amber shrank back, lowered her head, and looked innocent and pitiful.

Amelia placed her hand on Rachel's hand, struggling to move her feet. Her ankle was gradually becoming red and swollen. Frederick looked at her with a cold expression and took a step forward, reaching out to hold her hand against his own neck. With a gentle embrace, he effortlessly lifted her up.

Amelia froze for a moment, her expression slightly stunned. "Mr. Hastings, I can walk."

Frederick's face turned cold. "Shut up."

Rachel also noticed Amelia’s swollen ankle and spoke in a low voice. "How can you walk with that foot?"

"If Mr. Hastings is willing to help, let him help," Amelia replied in silence.

Frederick carried her into the elevator with big strides, and Rachel quickly followed.

Amber stood in place, her eyes filled with panic as she watched this scene. For a moment, she didn't know whether she should follow them or leave on her own.

With a pale face, she watched as the elevator doors closed and Frederick's anxious demeanor deeply imprinted in her mind.

"Felix."

"Does Frederick like Ms. Davis?"

Amber hesitated for a moment, her eyes slightly red. She asked herself, "Then where do I stand?"

"If Frederick is like this, then where do I stand?"

Felix looked bewildered and softly asked, "Ms. Roberts, didn't you break up with Mr. Hastings three years ago?"

Amber was stunned by his words and didn't know how to react for a moment.

Felix had a humble and polite attitude. "Ms. Roberts, I'll be going now," he said, walking past Amber and taking another elevator to leave.

Downstairs, Frederick came out of the elevator carrying Amelia. The staff passing by couldn't help but glance at them.

Rachel and Amelia, the two sisters, were both attractive women.

Frederick was not lacking in looks either. Effortlessly, he held Amelia in his arms.

The combination of a handsome man and a beautiful woman naturally caught people's attention.

Amelia saw that Frederick was about to carry her to his car and immediately struggled.

"Mr. Hastings, please put me in my sister's car," she said.

Frederick frowned, his face serious. "I'll take you to the hospital."

Amelia refused. "No need. My sister will take me to the hospital."

Frederick's face grew colder, his gaze warning her. "Amelia, don't throw a tantrum at this time."

Amelia pressed her lips together and calmly replied, "Mr. Hastings, I'm not throwing a tantrum. We're already divorced, and I don't want to cause any unnecessary misunderstandings."

Rachel was also worried about Amelia’s pregnancy being exposed, so she stepped forward.

"Mr. Hastings, thank you for helping us so far. I'll personally take my sister to the hospital."

Frederick frowned and carefully placed Amelia in Rachel's car before stepping back.

After Amelia sat in the backseat, she politely thanked him. "Thank you, Mr. Hastings."

Frederick got into the car with a cold face and sat next to Amelia.

"Yesterday, you kept calling me 'brother.' Taking care of my sister shouldn't cause any unnecessary misunderstandings, right?"

He spoke with a serious face, expressing his discontent, and then instructed the driver to start the car.

The driver looked confused and glanced at Rachel for advice.

Rachel saw this scene and raised an eyebrow. She opened the front passenger door and got in.

"To General Hospital," she instructed.

The driver then quickly started the car and headed toward General Hospital.

By the time Amber walked out of Sankara Group, Amelia’s car had already left.

Only Frederick's car remained at the entrance.
She walked over with anticipation in her heart and knocked on the back window of the car.

"Frederick..."
The window on the passenger's side slowly rolled down, and Felix calmly looked at Amber.

"I'm sorry, Ms. Roberts, Mr. Hastings is not in the car."

Amber's expression changed slightly, "Where did he go?"

Felix glanced at the car that was leaving the parking lot.

Amber followed Felix's gaze and saw the Davis Group's car leaving, her face changing.

"Is Frederick in that car?"

Felix did not answer her question. He just instructed the driver to follow.

Amber hesitated for a moment, wanting to get in the car, but Felix had already closed the window.

She was left alone at Sankara Group.

Everyone only cared about Amelia. No one cared about her.

Amber clenched her teeth tightly, and her hand hanging at her side involuntarily tightened.

She felt a dense pain in her palm and lowered her head to take a look.

She realized that her palm was bleeding from the fall earlier, turning red.

Now, she finally understood why Rachel left her at the Davis Group.

She just wanted to humiliate her!

General Hospital.

When Frederick got out of the car, he bent down to pick up Amelia.

But Nicole immediately pushed the wheelchair to the side of the car.

Amelia had sent a message to Nicole on the way here, and when she saw Nicole, she breathed a sigh of relief and calmly looked at Frederick.

"Mr. Hastings, please don't block me."

Frederick glanced at the wheelchair behind him, his eyes darkened.

He coldly stepped aside.

With Nicole's help, Amelia got out of the car and sat in the wheelchair.

She lowered her head to examine Amelia’s injured ankle and furrowed her brows.

"Why is it so swollen? What happened?"

Amelia softly replied, "Ms. Roberts accidentally bumped into me."

Nicole immediately darkened her expression and looked at Frederick with some resentment. She muttered, "Why does this person never give up?"

After she finished speaking, she pushed Amelia into the hospital.

Frederick tried to keep up, but Rachel stopped him with a gesture. She took a glance at Amber, who was getting out of the taxi, and said in a serious tone, "Mr. Hastings should handle this matter first."

Frederick's eyes turned icy in an instant. "Since Ms. Rachel decided to keep her around, it is your responsibility to deal with it," he said and went straight into the hospital.

Rachel raised an eyebrow, looking at Amber hastily approaching with a calculating smile. It seemed that Frederick wasn't particularly concerned about Amber after all.
