Chapter 267 She Is Making a Scene

Amelia went to the examination room to check Rachel's report.

Just as Amelia reached the door, she almost bumped into a doctor coming out.

Amelia took a step back and quickly apologized, "Sorry."

"We're so familiar with each other. No need to apologize." Dylan was wearing a white coat and a mask, so Amelia didn't recognize him at first. When she heard his voice, she smiled in surprise.

"You joined General Hospital?" Amelia asked.

Dylan nodded and said somewhat uncomfortably, "I just started yesterday, and today has been crazy busy. I haven't had a chance to tell you."

Seeing the sweat on his forehead, Amelia smiled and replied, "Is there any hospital that's not busy?"

Dylan muttered softly, "Especially pediatrics, it's super busy."

Amelia chuckled.

Dylan sighed lightly.

"I haven't seen Anna in a long time. I need to go to the Davis Manor someday to see her and heal my broken heart. I wonder if she misses me?" Dylan asked.

Amelia pressed her lips together and answered softly, "She's been getting along well with Frederick lately and probably hasn't had time to miss you."

Dylan was stunned for a few seconds and then grumbled, "Looks like Frederick is planning to steal my uncle's status! It's bad enough he took you away. Now he wants to take Anna, too. It's outrageous! Am I really going to end up all alone?"

Seeing that he still had the energy to joke, Amelia figured his heartbreak was almost healed.

She smiled. "Alone? You'll always be Anna's uncle."

After all, a life-saving grace couldn't be easily forgotten.

Dylan clicked his tongue. "What about Frederick then?"

Amelia's expression was subtle, and she casually found an excuse. "The Hastings Group and the Davis Group have a partnership. For the Davis Group to reach a higher level, they still need his help."

Dylan questioned, "You mean you're using Frederick?"

Dylan looked at Amelia inquisitively, not believing her at all.

Amber's steps halted not far away, with Wendy by her side, coming for a check-up.

Wendy looked at them in shock, clearly having overheard the conversation between Amelia and Dylan.

Amelia glanced at Amber, paused for a moment, and then softly said to Dylan, "Go get busy. We'll talk another day."

Dylan nodded, turned around, and saw Amber standing in the hallway, looking at him and Amelia with a strange expression.

He slightly restrained his curious gaze, glanced at Amber indifferently, and quickly left.

Amelia turned and entered the examination room to check Rachel's report.

After getting the report, she walked out of the examination room, and Amber was nowhere to be seen.

A subtle emotion flashed in her eyes, but it quickly returned to calm.

Amber now urgently needed to change her image in front of Frederick and would contact him immediately to tell him about her conversation with Dylan.

Amelia sighed inwardly. Frederick wouldn't suspect Anna's parentage for a while. As long as Amber was around, she wouldn't let Anna's parentage be revealed.

When Amelia returned to Rachel's ward, Frederick was no longer there. She glanced at the spot where Frederick had been sitting and then looked back at Rachel.

"I've seen your report, nothing serious." Her tone was somewhat stiff.

Rachel raised an eyebrow, took the report from Amelia, and said calmly. "He got a call and went back to the office."

Amelia paused, "Where he goes has nothing to do with me."

Rachel looked at her with a knowing expression.

Amelia remained silent.

Rachel shifted her position on the bed, but before she could get comfortable, the door to her ward was suddenly pushed open.

Sebastian hurried over, standing by Rachel's bed, wanting to move closer but hesitating.

He asked with concern, "Rachel, are you okay?"

Rachel's throat was uncomfortable, and her voice was slightly hoarse. "I'm not dying."

Sebastian looked guilty. "Rachel, there's really nothing between Clara and me. I just felt sorry for her. That child isn't mine. It's not even Clara's. She adopted her classmate's child. Her classmate died in a car accident and entrusted the child to her. You know Helen's temper."

"How can you say there's nothing between you and Clara? Didn't Clara give you her first time?" Rachel's voice was cold and emotionless, cutting off Sebastian's words.

Sebastian's face stiffened, and he looked embarrassed.

Rachel looked at him coldly, expressionless. "You felt guilt, pity, and sympathy for a woman you had a sexual relationship with. You even settled her in a property under your name. What's next? Are you planning to support her behind my back and raise that child together?"

Sebastian shook his head. "I never thought of that."

Rachel snorted, "If you really didn't think that, you wouldn't have planned to find her a job at the Kingsley Group."

Sebastian lowered his head, almost not daring to look Rachel in the eye.

He explained lightly, "I just wanted to introduce her to a job so she could support herself and the child and then cut ties completely."

Rachel's tone was indifferent. "You can't cut ties. From the moment you took that child for a DNA test, you couldn't cut ties. During those hours waiting for the DNA results, what were you thinking, Sebastian?"

Sebastian turned pale, unable to respond to Rachel's words.

Rachel rubbed her temples, feeling a throbbing pain in her head.

She said faintly, "Let's break up. There's nothing left to talk about."

Sebastian shook his head, his tone firm. "I won't break up."

Rachel frowned. "I've already made it public. Whether we break up or not isn't up to you. I've gathered enough information and evidence. If you don't want the Kingsley Group to be affected, don't bug me. Otherwise, I'll release the news, and those who laugh at us won't care if it's true or not."

Sebastian frowned. "Rachel, do you have to do this? After all these years..."

Rachel interrupted him, "After all these years, don't you know my character?"

Sebastian looked at Rachel's aggressive demeanor, feeling a lump in his throat.

"I'll have Clara move out of Lantern Mansion immediately. Will that satisfy you?" His helpless tone made Rachel feel like she was making a scene.

Rachel held back her anger, but her brow twitched uncontrollably. She uttered, "Get out."

Amelia quickly walked to Sebastian and pulled the curtain around the bed, blocking his view of Rachel.

Amelia coldly said, "Mr. Kingsley, Rachel isn't feeling well. Please leave."

Sebastian wanted to say something, but swallowed his words. Looking at the curtain, he murmured, "Get some rest. We'll talk about this when you're feeling better."

Rachel didn't respond.

Sebastian lowered his head, turned around, and left in a state of sadness.
