Chapter 143 He Was Just an Ex-Husband, He Had No Right

Half an hour later.

Felix raised his hand to look at his watch, then cautiously lifted his head to look into the rearview mirror.

He saw Frederick sitting in the back seat. Felix couldn't see his expression in the dim environment, but the atmosphere felt very serious.

Felix took a deep breath and mustered the courage to speak.

"Frederick, should we go in and visit Vincent?"

In the back seat, Frederick didn't say a word, remaining motionless.

Felix felt the oppressive atmosphere around him and sighed, not daring to speak again.

A few minutes later, Dylan walked out of the Davis Manor, with Amelia seeing him off.

Dylan was holding Anna in his arms. Anna was very well-behaved, clinging to Dylan's neck as he was about to leave, reluctant to let go.

"Daddy, when will you come back to see me again?"

Anna's voice was clear and bright in the quiet night.

Felix saw that Frederick had already opened the car door to get out, but upon hearing Anna's words, he sat back down.

Felix's expression was also very puzzled.

Wasn't Anna's father Daniel?

How did she become involved with Dylan?

What on earth was going on?

Felix felt very awkward. He even lowered his head, wishing he could become invisible.

"If you want to see me, I'll come to see you every day."

Anna nodded.

Amelia smiled at the sight, then looked up at Anna and gently said, " Your daddy has to go home now. How about you go inside with Susan for a bath first? I have something to discuss with him."

Anna nodded, and Susan took Anna from Dylan's arms and went inside.

Dylan watched Anna go inside, then turned his gaze to Amelia.

He skillfully placed his hand on Amelia's shoulder and joked. "Don't worry. I'll handle my parents. I won't let you and our daughter suffer any grievances."

Amelia felt reassured seeing him joke around.

"Talk to your parents properly when you get back. Call me if there's any problem."

Dylan nodded, reached out to ruffle Amelia's hair, and said, "Even if there are problems, I'll handle them."

Amelia smiled and nodded, opened the car door for Dylan, and reminded him. "All right. Be careful on the road."

Dylan nodded, got in the car, and left.

Amelia stood there watching Dylan's car leave. Just as she was about to turn around, she saw Frederick getting out of a car parked across the street.

She was momentarily stunned upon seeing him.

She had thought he might come looking for her eventually, but she didn't expect him to come so quickly.

His car was parked in a dark spot, barely noticeable unless one looked closely.

"How long have you been hiding here?"

Amelia looked at his gloomy face, a smile playing on her lips as she stared into his deep eyes.

Frederick walked up to her, stopped, and glanced at the corner of her mouth.

"Since Dylan dropped you off at the Davis Manor, I've been here."

Amelia had eaten some fruit at home earlier, and her lipstick had faded a bit.

Seeing Frederick staring at her lips, Amelia felt puzzled and lightly wiped them, thinking there might be something on them.

"When did you develop a habit of stalking..."

Before Amelia could finish her sentence, he, standing in front of her, suddenly reached out and pulled her into his arms.

His movements were quick, catching her off guard as he bent down to kiss her lips.

Although Frederick usually had a stoic expression, his manners were quite gentlemanly. Amelia didn't expect him to suddenly kiss her forcefully.

She struggled as she realized what was happening.

However, he refused to let her go. The more she struggled, the tighter he held her.

Amelia, feeling furious, bit his lip. He winced in pain but still didn't let go.

Soon, Amelia's mouth was filled with the metallic taste of blood.

A few minutes later, Frederick finally released Amelia.

Amelia took a deep breath, frowned, and raised her hand to slap him.

Frederick caught her hand, tightening his grip slightly, and stared at her with a burning gaze for a few seconds before sneering.

"I just wanted to taste what Dylan and Daniel find so irresistible."

Amelia frowned, trying to pull her hand back.

Frederick tightened his grip even more, his voice hoarse as he said, "You're no different from before. You give off a very ordinary feeling, just not worth abandoning immediately."

"You have such a dignified and noble face, yet you can skillfully navigate between two men behind the scenes. Amelia, I underestimated you before."

Amelia was stunned.

Frederick's eyes were cold as he looked down at Amelia as if he were looking at a promiscuous woman.

He reached out and lightly touched Amelia's collar. Her white neck still bore the marks he had left that night. His eyes heated up, but he felt more anger and resentment deep inside.

Amelia realized what he was looking at and quickly adjusted her collar, raising her head to look at him.

"No matter if I'm involved with two men or three, it has nothing to do with you."

"We're already divorced. Don't tell me you think your ex-wife should remain single and chaste for you?"

Frederick's eyes were sullen and cold as he looked at her and said, "Has it nothing to do with me? Dylan is my cousin, and you are my ex-wife. The connection is significant."

"You met Dylan three years ago and officially got together with Daniel three years ago."

"Do you know who the father of your child is?"

Amelia looked at Frederick with disappointment, feeling a deep sense of humiliation from his words.

Almost as soon as Frederick finished speaking, she raised her hand and slapped him hard across the face.

This time, her slap landed accurately.

In the quiet night, the sound of her slap was loud and clear.

Frederick frowned, staring straight at her with eyes sharp enough to kill.

The force of the slap made Amelia's hand go numb and hurt, but this pain was nothing compared to the pain in her heart.

She looked at Frederick with a serious expression.

"You can insult me, but you cannot insult my daughter."

"Frederick, you have no right to judge me or my daughter. You don't deserve it."

"To me, you're just a stranger with whom I had a brief marriage."

Frederick frowned deeply, his heart aching. He grabbed Amelia as she was about to leave but quickly let go.

With a livid expression, he hurried back to his car before Amelia could enter the Davis Manor. It seemed that staying a moment longer would mean losing everything.
