Chapter 194 She Would Rather See a Low-class Man

Amelia didn't think Walter's apology was sincere. After all, Amelia was now his attending physician.

However, when she left, she still called Walter to order him some food.

The next day, Walter's mental state seemed to be better.

As soon as Amelia arrived at the hospital, she heard a burst of laughter coming from Walter's ward.

Walter was not bad-looking, and he was very good at talking, so he made the young nurses very happy.

The young nurse who had been reluctant to interact with Walter yesterday was particularly diligent at giving Walter his medication today.

When Amelia made her rounds, she saw Walter lying on his side, playing with his phone.

Amelia asked, "Isn't your phone broken?"

Walter put down his phone and smiled at Amelia. He felt quite good.

He replied, "I had a nurse buy it for me."

Amelia's expression darkened slightly as she looked at the nurse standing nearby.

The nurse had a somewhat embarrassed smile on her face and quickly replied, "It was no trouble."

Amelia remained silent when she saw that the nurse had done it voluntarily. She put on disposable medical gloves, walked over, and pulled up Walter's clothes to examine him.

Walter was defenseless and felt inexplicably uncomfortable when Amelia pulled up his clothes. He asked, "Do you often look under men's clothes?"

Amelia stared at his injuries, observing him. She replied, "In my eyes, you have no gender now."

Walter fell silent.

He had chatted with the nurse on duty for a long time last night and learned some information about Amelia. Both the doctors and patients in the hospital spoke highly of Amelia.

The more he found out about her, the more afraid Walter became.

Most of the women he had sex with had taken some stimulants, and then something happened to him.

If Scott had really brought Amelia to him last night, Walter couldn't imagine what the consequences would have been.

Walter said, "Women like you shouldn’t go to a bar like that."

"If there were fewer men like you in this world, women wouldn't have to be wary about going anywhere." Amelia pressed on Walter's bruise.

Walter gasped immediately.

Without looking at him, Amelia turned and gave a few instructions to the nurse.

The nurse immediately went to get Walter's medication.

As Amelia walked out of the ward, she stopped at the door and glanced back at Walter.

She coldly said, "The nurses in the hospital don't earn much every month. Don't deceive them."

Walter was stunned for a moment when he heard Amelia's words. Suddenly, he sat up from the bed and shook the phone in his hand.

He shouted, "I bought this with my money! I wouldn't cheat women out of their money!"

His voice was loud, and Amelia rubbed her ears and replied, "Don't cheat anyone out of their money or anything else."

Walter choked, gritted his teeth, lay back on the bed, and cursed. He felt extremely frustrated.

Walter's mother had hired Riley as a special caretaker for Walter, and Riley arrived at the hospital in the afternoon.

Amelia happened to meet Riley when she was making her rounds.

Riley was very beautiful, very serious about her work, and meticulously took care of Walter.

Amelia could finally relax a little when she saw Riley by Walter's side. After all, if Riley wasn't here, the nurses would unfortunately have take care of him.

Before Amelia finished work, she saw Jesse coming out of Walter's ward.

Amelia was stunned, then greeted him. "Hello, Jesse."

Jesse glanced at Amelia and smiled when he saw her, a hint of surprise in his eyes.

He asked, "Amelia, do you work here?"

Amelia nodded and softly asked, "Do you know Walter?"

Jesse replied, "He’s a VIP customer at the bar and got injured near the bar, so I came to visit."

Amelia nodded in understanding.

They chatted as they walked toward the elevator.

The elevator opened. Paul and Frederick were inside the elevator.

Paul saw Amelia and greeted her quickly. "Hello, Ms. Davis."

Amelia nodded and raised her eyes to look at Frederick.

He was wearing a black shirt and black trousers with no wrinkles that made his long and straight legs look even longer.

His suit jacket was draped over his arm, showing that he had just come from the company.

As Amelia was about to speak, she saw Frederick coldly pressing the close button.

The elevator doors closed quickly.

Paul stood next to Frederick, looking somewhat puzzled.

Frederick remained aloof, his gaze hardly lingering on Amelia.

Amelia paused.

After the elevator doors closed, it went all the way up to the floor where Brittany lived.

Paul was somewhat puzzled and said, "Mr. Hastings, we are here to get Ms. Davis to prescribe you some medication."

Frederick had accidentally lost his medication, so he hadn't taken his medicine at noon today.

Frederick didn't answer, and Paul fell silent.

Downstairs, Jesse looked at Amelia and asked, "Do you know Mr. Hastings?"

Amelia nodded. "I do."

She answered briefly, and Jesse changed the subject. "Do you have any plans for later? I want to treat you to dinner."

Amelia was about to reply when Jesse added, "It'll be nearby."

"Let me buy dinner. I said I would treat you to dinner that day." Amelia smiled politely.

Jesse didn't refuse.

After Frederick visited Brittany, he left the hospital.

On the way back, Paul stopped the car behind the zebra crossing and waited for the green light.

Frederick sat in the back seat, looking out the window. Suddenly, he saw Amelia and Jesse sitting by the restaurant's floor-to-ceiling window, and his eyes turned cold.

The conversation and smiles between Amelia and Jesse seemed very pleasant. Amelia seemed to be smiling shyly throughout.

Frederick found that smile irritating.

Although his eyes were stung by the scene, he seemed unwilling to look away, almost as if he were torturing himself.

Paul had been carefully observing Frederick's expression in the rearview mirror.

Paul also looked outside after seeing Frederick looking out the window.

When Paul saw Amelia with another man, he suddenly understood why the atmosphere in the car had grown cold.

When the light changed to green, Paul stepped on the gas without hesitation.

Frederick withdrew his gaze, sitting in the back seat with a cold expression.

He had deliberately not contacted Amelia for two days.

If Amelia were a fickle woman, she would surely have taken the initiative to inquire about his condition.

However, Amelia had not contacted him at all during these two days.

She used to occasionally ask about his medication and health, but these days, it seemed as if she had forgotten his existence completely. She hadn't called or messaged him at all.

Frederick's mind was filled with images of Amelia with Jesse. His eyes grew colder.

Frederick asked, "Why does Amelia prefer to see a low-class man rather than come to me?"

In his eyes, Jesse was not good enough to compete with him.

He didn't understand why Amelia would be interested in Jesse.

Paul, on the other hand, was shocked by what he heard.

Frederick was actually beginning to lose confidence.

Paul dared not speak. He stared straight ahead, pretending to drive seriously.
