Chapter 477 What Kind of Role Does Scott Play?
Sebastian hurried over to Amelia and handed her a brown paper bag. "Give this to your sister," he said.
Amelia eyed the bag but didn't take it. "What's this?" she asked, her eyes wary.
Sebastian noticed her hesitation, remembering how close they used to be. "It's the project the Davis Group lost. I heard they're having some issues. If you give her this, she'll get it."
As he said, he gave the bag to her again.
Ignoring the bag, Amelia's expression turned serious. "Why don't you give it to her yourself? Why come to me?"
Sebastian's face darkened. "She won't see me. You know how she feels about me now. It's better if we don't meet."
He forced the bag into her hand and turned to leave.
Amelia frowned at the bag. "Isn't this the project you took from her before?"
Sebastian paused, then walked away faster. He didn't answer, but Amelia already knew.
She watched him leave, her expression serious, and then called Rachel.
Rachel answered quickly, "What's up?"
Amelia glanced at the bag. "Sebastian just gave me the project documents the Davis Group missed. What should I do with it?"
Rachel was silent for a moment, then said coldly, "Throw it away."
Amelia raised an eyebrow but agreed. "Okay."
She walked to the trash can, about to toss the bag, when Rachel's voice came through the phone again. "Wait. I'll have Tina come get it."
Amelia stopped and held the bag tightly. "Okay, have Tina come to my office."
"Got it," Rachel replied and hung up.
Amelia put her phone away and headed to the elevator. Just then, a silver sports car pulled into the garage. The window rolled down, revealing Scott with a mischievous smile. "Amelia, wait up!"
Amelia's face stiffened. She quickly got into the elevator and pressed the close button.
Scott watched her hurry away, his eyelid twitching. He parked next to her spot.
In her office, Amelia put the documents in a drawer.
Soon, Scott walked in and plopped down in a chair. "Why'd you run when you saw me? Anyone would think I have the plague."
Amelia glanced at him, then went back to organizing files. "What do you want?"
Scott leaned back and gave Amelia a warm look. "Just wanted to see you," he said.
Amelia frowned. "I don't have time for chit-chat."
Seeing her serious expression, Scott stopped teasing and leaned in closer. "The meds you gave me last time are all gone, but I still don't feel any better. So, here I am. As my doctor, you should remember when my meds run out. It hurts that you don't."
Amelia frowned. "I have tons of patients. I can't keep track of everyone's meds."
Scott laughed. "Amelia, I was just messing with you. Don't take it so seriously."
Amelia's expression remained unchanged. "Mr. Sinclair, please don't joke about your illness. The doctor-patient relationship shouldn't be taken lightly."
Scott's smile faded. He looked at her for a moment before speaking, "Amelia, are you saying we can only have a doctor-patient relationship?"
Amelia looked up, her eyes cold, but didn't answer.
He stared at her face for a long time before saying, "Amelia, don't you know what kind of relationship I want?"
Amelia's eyes showed no emotion. "No."
Scott's expression stiffened. After a few seconds, he sighed and looked at her seriously. "Never mind. I think I'm a good match for you. I may not know you best, but I won't push your buttons like Frederick. I've never hurt you. So, Amelia, I hope you'll give me a chance."
Amelia looked at him quietly. Scott sat up straight, his eyes hopeful but nervous.
Her eyes didn't waver. "Mr. Sinclair, you've never been in my consideration, so there's no need to consider."
Scott's face darkened, anger flickering in his eyes. "You gave Frederick another chance. Why not me? All these years, I..."
Amelia cut him off calmly, "All these years, you've been tied to Amber. I told you long ago that you and Amber are the two people I hate most. During my conflicts with Frederick, you know exactly what you did!"
Scott seemed deflated by her words, his posture slumping.
