Chapter 64 Can't Wait to Share the Joy of Divorce?
Amelia nodded.
"Yeah."
"He reached out to me, but I had already blocked him."
On the night the incident happened, John sent her a message, apologizing, and admitted that he had fabricated those chat records to seek revenge on her in the heat of the moment.
He never expected things to escalate.
He wrote a long message expressing his realization of his mistake.
After reading his message, Amelia chose to block him, along with all his contact numbers.
She did not pay much attention to what happened afterward.
As Frederick looked at her gentle expression while speaking, he felt a heaviness in his heart. Suddenly, he remembered someone had told him once that Amelia seemed gentle but had a strong and cold heart.
Now, he was starting to understand.
Back at Spring Villa.
Amelia was the first to open the car door and get out. After she got out, she turned to look at Frederick, who had also gotten out of the car, and said,
"Mr. Hastings, you should go back to your Pearl Building."
Her father was not here, so Frederick did not need to pretend anymore.
Frederick furrowed his brows and looked at Amelia. He said heavily,
"What? Am I not allowed to stay in the guest room anymore?"
Amelia raised her gaze to look at his slightly flushed, handsome face, and the corner of her lips twitched.
"Mr. Hastings, behaving like this makes me think that you don't want a divorce."
Frederick's handsome face immediately turned cold.
He sighed and turned back to get in the car.
"Drive back to the Pearl Building."
Felix didn't dare to delay and started the car, driving away.
Amelia stood in place for a while until Frederick's car disappeared from her sight before turning back into the house.
Mary had already fallen asleep, and Amelia did not stay. She went upstairs.
After a few minutes.
Felix drove the car back to Spring Villa again.
Amelia had just finished getting ready in the bathroom when she heard the sound of a car's engine outside.
She walked over to the balcony to see Frederick getting out of the car.
As he stepped out, he noticed her standing on the balcony, and they locked eyes for a few seconds before Frederick walked into the house.
Amelia raised an eyebrow and returned inside, opening the bedroom door and stepping out.
Frederick made his way up from downstairs and saw Amelia standing at the bedroom doorway, staring at her intensely for a few seconds.
"I came back to get something," he said.
Amelia nodded. "Okay."
She paused for a moment and added, "If you'd like to stay in the guest room for the night, you can."
Her voice was calm, treating him as just another guest despite his return.
After Amelia finished speaking, she returned inside and slammed the bedroom door.
Frederick stared at the closed door for a long time, suddenly feeling a surge of resentment.
Amelia was truly cold-hearted.
He came back to try to mend their relationship, but she didn't even need it.
Frederick didn't go to the guest room and instead left the house.
Felix was still waiting in the car and knew that the conversation between Frederick and Amelia had definitely fallen apart when he saw Frederick's cold expression as he walked out.
"Mr. Hastings, you admit that you don't want a divorce, but Mrs. Davis insists on getting one?" Felix asked.
Frederick gave Felix a cold look and said, "Who told you I don't want a divorce?"
Felix immediately shut his mouth. It seems Frederick didn't say anything.
The resentment on Frederick's mind was heavy as he drove back to Pearl Building.
Felix didn't dare to provoke him and simply drove silently.
For a period of time, Frederick and Amelia had no contact with each other.
In the end, Vincent began to notice something.
Amelia ultimately confessed everything to her father.
She and Frederick had agreed to divorce, and the divorce cooling-off period would end tomorrow.
As long as they go to court together tomorrow morning to obtain the divorce certificate, they will have no relationship.
Vincent initially couldn't accept it, but Amelia told him about Amber.
He eventually accepted the fact that Amelia wanted to divorce Frederick.
"Emotions are indeed impossible to change."
"Amelia, you've been through a lot these years."
Amelia had already let go during this time.
"I brought this upon myself so I can tolerate it."
Vincent sighed, "Forget it. There's not just one excellent man like Frederick in this world."
"Daniel is also outstanding."
Amelia chuckled helplessly upon hearing this, "Daniel and I are just ordinary friends."
Vincent followed up, "I don't think Daniel necessarily wants to be just ordinary friends with you."
Amelia raised an eyebrow and remained silent.
The next morning.
When Amelia left the house, her father was still resting. He had another episode last night and took several pills before falling asleep.
She felt guilty about this.
Her marriage had become the issue her father cared about the most now.
When he had the episode last night, he even asked her if everything would have been different if his decision hadn't gone wrong and the Davis family could still maintain its past glory. Would Frederick not dare to have a mistress outside?
Amelia felt uneasy for a long time after hearing his words.
Since the problems with the Davis Group's decisions and his decline in status at Kasfee, her father's thoughts had also changed, and he tended to blame himself for all the problems.
To the extent that his condition gradually worsened.
Amelia had planned to tell him about her pregnancy when she went abroad.
But seeing him fall ill, she couldn't help but tell him in the end.
Because she was pregnant, she was so eager to divorce Frederick. She was in a hurry because she didn't want Frederick to have custody of the child.
Even if the Davis Group hadn't encountered any problems, her marriage with Frederick would have come to an end.
After hearing her words, Vincent remained silent for a long time and went back to his room after taking a few pills.
Amelia didn't sleep well the whole night, worried that Vincent might have suicidal thoughts again. She purposely left a crack in the bedroom door to observe the situation inside at any moment.
Before leaving, she gave Susan a few instructions and then went to the garage to get her car.
As soon as she reached the garage, she noticed that Frederick's car was parked in front of the Davis family's house, but she had no idea when it got there.
When Frederick saw Amelia coming out, he opened the car door and got out.
"Get in my car, and I will drive you there."
Upon hearing his voice, Amelia refused.
"I will drive myself. It will be troublesome to come back later."
Frederick was rejected, and his expression stiffened. He then started the car and left.
Amelia remained composed and walked into the garage, driving her own car to the court.
The process of obtaining the divorce certificate was quick.
After getting the divorce certificate, Frederick threw it to Felix, who was standing nearby, and left in large strides.
He hadn't walked far when he noticed Daniel waiting outside the court. His face immediately turned dark as he cast a cold glance at Amelia.
"Are you so eager to share the joy of divorce with him?"
