Chapter 476 Sebastian Comes to See Amelia

After coming back from the bathroom, Anna hopped right onto Amelia's bed and snuggled up close. "Mommy, can I sleep next to you?" she whispered.

Amelia wrapped her arms around Anna, her voice softening. "Of course, sweetie."

Anna found a comfortable spot in Amelia's arms and drifted off. Amelia looked down at her, feeling a sense of warmth.

The next morning, as Amelia and Anna stepped out of the bedroom, Amelia saw Casey repeatedly glancing at the painting on the wall while sweeping but acting like she didn't.

She turned to Anna and said, "After breakfast, I have to head to the hospital. The tutor will come today, so be good, okay?"

Anna nodded seriously. "I won't be naughty. I'll listen to the teacher."

Amelia smiled and ruffled Anna's hair.

Seeing them, Casey quickly greeted, "Good morning, Ms. Amelia Davis. Breakfast is ready in the kitchen. You should go eat."

Amelia gave Casey a calm look and said, "Okay. When you clean my room later, please help organize my drawers."

Casey nodded quickly. "Yes, Ms. Amelia Davis." She glanced at Rachel's closed door and asked softly, "Do I need to clean Ms. Rachel Davis's room?"

Amelia shook her head. "No need. Susan will clean it in the evening."

Casey smiled awkwardly, a hint of disappointment in her eyes. "Oh, I see."

Amelia noticed but hid her displeasure, thinking, 'Casey is getting greedy.'

When Amelia and Anna went downstairs, Vincent had already finished breakfast. Seeing Amelia's unhappy face, Vincent thought about her situation with Frederick and felt worried.

"Frederick still hasn't contacted you?" he asked, concern in his eyes.

Amelia was about to answer when a noise came from upstairs. She held back and replied, "No. He hasn't contacted me yet."

Vincent's expression darkened. However, when he saw Anna's disappointed expression, he said with a smile, "He might be too busy."

Amelia nodded. "Yes."

Anna pouted, "Aunt Rachel is also very busy."

Amelia knew exactly what Anna meant. Rachel was super busy too, but she always made time to come home every day. Anna was clearly upset about Frederick being MIA and not paying attention to her.

Amelia rubbed Anna's head. Seeing her still pouting, she sighed inwardly, 'Frederick, when this is all said and done, saying sorry won't be enough. You left us out of the loop right from the beginning. It's been bugging me, not to mention how it's getting to Anna. Even though I've been covering for you, Anna has seen through it.'

After breakfast, the tutor showed up. After a quick hello to Amelia, the tutor took Anna to the kids' room upstairs.

Amelia watched them go, then glanced at Susan. Susan gave a slight nod and followed them, which made Amelia feel better.

Given the situation, Amelia was being extra careful. The tutor was new to the Davis family. With issues arising among the household staff, she wasn't certain if the tutor had any ulterior motives.

Amelia turned her attention to Vincent, who was on the sofa taking some medicine. When he noticed her looking, he seemed a bit uneasy and quickly hid the bottle after swallowing the pills.

Amelia was puzzled. "Dad, why are you still taking medicine?"

Vincent quickly explained, "Just some digestive tablets." He shook the bottle to show her.

Seeing it was indeed digestive tablets, Amelia didn't think much of it. "Have you been having stomach issues? Why don't you come to the hospital with me for a check-up?"

Vincent checked his watch and changed the subject, "Not today. I have plans to go fishing with a friend. I can't cancel. Let's do the check-up another day. I don't feel unwell right now. As you get older, digestion issues are normal. You're a doctor; you should understand this better than me. You should hurry to work and not be late."

Seeing he looked fine, Amelia felt reassured.

Vincent saw her off. After her car left, his face showed some pain. He endured it and went back to his room.

Amelia drove to the hospital alone. As she parked and got out, she heard a familiar male voice call her name. "Amelia."

Hearing the voice, Amelia frowned and looked over. She saw Sebastian walking toward her with a brown paper bag.

Thinking about how Sebastian had been opposing Rachel lately, Amelia felt resistant to seeing him. She had once thought Sebastian would become her brother-in-law, but he had shown poor judgment.

Now that Sebastian was approaching, Amelia was naturally on guard.
