Chapter 376 Frederick Massages Her Feet in Public
Noticing Rachel looking at him inquisitively, Charles smiled slightly. "Ms. Davis, do you have any concerns?"
Rachel shook her head and gave a faint smile as well. "No."
Some things were better left unsaid. As long as she could get what she wanted from him, cooperation wasn't out of the question.
The two returned to the main hall. Upon Charles' return to the venue, he was surrounded by representatives from many groups who wanted to collaborate with him.
Rachel naturally stepped back from the crowd instead of staying by Charles's side.
Tina approached Rachel and quietly reported which companies in Yaradia were interested in collaborating with the Davis Group and wanted to visit the Davis Group's headquarters and factories.
After taking note, Rachel instructed softly, "Then arrange a suitable time to invite them to visit the Davis Group's headquarters and factories."
Rachel paused and remembered something, asking, "Where's Shirley? I haven't seen her."
Shirley had come to the event with Tina today. But Rachel hadn't seen Shirley at the event earlier.
Tina answered softly, "She might be in the car."
As she spoke, her gaze swept over to Layla, who was not far away, and Charles, who was surrounded by a crowd of people.
Tina continued, "I asked a friend in Yaradia to investigate recently. Shirley doesn't have much presence in the Wright family. Whether it's attending events or social gatherings, Shirley is almost invisible. If Layla isn't trying to protect her better, then she's probably excluding her from the Wright family's power."
Rachel wasn't surprised by Tina's findings. When Shirley was hiding in the bathroom talking to Layla, Rachel had already sensed that Layla had given up on Shirley.
After all, despite being Layla's daughter as well, Nancy had many companies under her name, but Shirley didn't have any. No matter what occasion it was, Layla always took Nancy with her.
In Layla's mind, Shirley's value was probably finding a suitable husband who would benefit her and Nancy.
Rachel nodded lightly and said softly, "If she doesn't want to come down, then let it be."
Tina nodded and then changed the subject. Rachel listened quietly, gave a few instructions, and then walked toward Amelia after spotting her.
Amelia's feet hurt from standing, so Frederick found her a sofa in a corner and made her sit down. Once she sat down, immediate relief washed over her legs.
Frederick knelt in front of her, took off her shoes, and checked her ankles.
Amelia felt a bit embarrassed, given that it was a public event with people coming and going. Frederick was quite popular at the event, and many representatives from Yaradia actively sought him out.
She quickly pulled her ankle back. "Get up quickly." She spoke softly, her eyes warily scanning the surroundings.
After taking off Amelia's shoes, Frederick placed her foot in his palm and massaged it. He advised gently, "You're not used to wearing high heels, so your feet must be uncomfortable. Let me massage them; you'll feel better."
Amelia pursed her lips. Seeing many people looking their way, she felt even more embarrassed and quickly pulled her foot out of Frederick's hand.
"Many people are watching us." She whispered and hurriedly put her shoes back on.
Frederick, however, didn't mind and grabbed her ankle again. He replied casually, "If they want to watch, let them watch. Felix has already gone to buy you new shoes. Let me massage your feet so you'll feel more comfortable when you put them on."
Frederick said as he took off Amelia's shoes again and massaged her feet.
Rachel walked over and saw Frederick massaging Amelia's feet. Her expression turned slightly serious, thinking Amelia might be injured. She asked, "Did you sprain your ankle?"
Amelia shook her head. "No. It's just that my feet hurt from standing too long."
Rachel's frown relaxed a bit. She glanced at Amelia's shoes and immediately understood. Amelia rarely wore high heels, so when the brand sent over shoes, Rachel had chosen a pair with heels. Because heeled shoes enhance one's presence in such settings.
Unlike Rachel, who was used to wearing high heels for various social events without any issues, Amelia wasn't accustomed to it.
Seeing Frederick not minding the attention and massaging Amelia's feet, Rachel felt happy for Amelia. She sat down on the sofa opposite Amelia, her tone much warmer than the cold one she used with others. She said, "The representatives from Yaradia I wanted to talk to are almost all settled. If you're really uncomfortable, you can leave early."
Amelia shook her head lightly. "It's okay, I can hold on. The event should be almost over."
Rachel glanced at her phone and said softly, "There's still an hour left."
"I can manage," Amelia looked up at Rachel and answered seriously.
Rachel saw that Amelia was in much better shape than at any previous event. It was likely because Frederick's presence by her side had given her a sense of confidence and support.
Seeing this, Rachel didn't want to disturb them any longer. Just as she was about to get up and leave, she saw Ken approaching with his newlywed wife.
Ken was from Fondaniss, but since Fondaniss and Yaradia were always allies, the two countries were very close. Ken's family had many businesses in Yaradia, and Rachel wasn't surprised to see him at the event.
Ken also saw Rachel and Amelia and greeted Rachel first. "Ms. Rachel Davis?"
When Amelia had her baby, Rachel had stayed in Fondaniss for a while. She also knew that Ken and Dylan had taken Amelia to the hospital, so they had met there. They had also met a few times at Anna's birthday parties.
"Mr. Angoulême, it's been a while." Rachel extended her hand to Ken graciously.
Ken smiled and shook Rachel's hand briefly.
Spotting Ken and his new wife, Amelia swiftly retracted her foot and slipped her shoes back on. Sensing the change in atmosphere, Frederick also withdrew his hand and stood up.
Ken smiled warmly at Amelia. "Long time no see, Amelia."
Amelia gave a faint smile, feeling uncomfortable knowing that Ken had been bothering Dylan even after getting married, but she remained polite.
Line clung tightly to Ken's arm, her gaze falling on Amelia with a friendly smile as if they had never met before. She said softly, "Honey, aren't you going to introduce me to these two beautiful ladies?"
