Chapter 408 Uncle Frederick, Shame on You!

In her sleep, Anna waved her little hand, a tiny scowl forming on her face. Seeing this, Frederick couldn't help but smile gently. He reached out, wanting to pinch her chubby cheek, but stopped himself in fear that she might wake up.

Frederick stood up carefully, ensuring Anna remained undisturbed, and made his way to the bathroom.

"I'm going to take a shower," he mumbled. He didn't give Amelia a chance to refuse and stepped into the bathroom.

Amelia sat by the bed, and looked at Anna's sleeping face. Then, she picked up her phone and checked the web. All the news about Anna had been deleted.

The announcement from the Kingsley Group didn't attract much attention.

Amelia let out a deep sigh of relief. Her social media was flooded with messages from Nicole. Amelia opened the messages and replied to Nicole.

Amelia: [It's all settled, no need to worry.]

Nicole replied almost immediately.

Nicole: [That was quick. Did Mr. Hastings handle it?]

Amelia: [Yes, by the time we got there, he had already taken care of it.]

Nicole: [Mr. Hastings is quite reliable in these matters.]

Tonight, Nicole was on duty at the hospital. She couldn't sleep well on the on-call bed, so she chose to surf the internet and unexpectedly saw the announcement from the Kingsley Group.

Nicole had found out about Dylan's issues that afternoon and was surprised to find out that Dylan was gay. She hadn't paid much attention to it, but she hadn't expected the Kingsley family to expose Anna's photos to deny Dylan's orientation. Some netizens even started making unsavory speculations about it.

Nicole was so angry that she argued with them for a long time. Now that the issue was resolved, she put down her phone with satisfaction.

"Hurting anyone is unacceptable, but hurting a child is even worse," Nicole muttered to herself. What Dylan did was not just unethical but downright despicable. Using Anna as a shield, even though he had once helped Amelia, crossed a line that infuriated her.

The online discussion about Dylan being a cheater didn't diminish at all. Some even dug up and reposted photos that Dylan had deleted.

Dylan's situation was getting worse, with people even making videos imitating his mannerisms and speech as a joke, gaining a lot of likes.

Amelia watched these videos, frowning. Thinking of Dylan's past kindness to her, she finally opened the chat with Dylan and sent a message.

Amelia: [You should stay offline for a while and get some rest.]

Dylan didn't reply to Amelia's message.

Frederick had finished his shower and came out of the bathroom, wrapped in a towel, drying his hair as he walked toward Amelia.

"What's wrong?" he asked softly.

Amelia put down her phone and shook her head, "Nothing." As she spoke, she took the towel from Frederick's hand and gestured for him to sit down.

Frederick sat on her vanity chair. Amelia stood behind him, helping him dry his hair.

The bedroom was lit by a small, warm yellow lamp. Frederick looked at Amelia's gentle reflection in the mirror and felt as if they had gone back to three years ago.

Three years ago, Amelia would tirelessly do all sorts of little things for him, like drying his hair, pouring him water, and even quietly reading in the study while he worked.

Frederick raised his hand and grabbed Amelia's wrist, forcefully pulling her into his arms.

Amelia fell into his lap, suppressing a gasp, and lightly hit his chest with her hand. "What are you doing? You'll wake Anna," she whispered.

Frederick wrapped his arms around Amelia's waist, resting his head on her shoulder. "I just want to hold you," he murmured. His voice was low and husky, and the warm breath he exhaled as he spoke hit Amelia's ear, making her body tense.

Frederick tightened his hold on Amelia and, as if on purpose, asked again. "What's wrong?"

Amelia suppressed the tingling sensation in her body and continued drying Frederick's hair.

Frederick held her like that, and soon Amelia felt something hardening beneath her. She bit her lip lightly, trying to get up from Frederick's lap, but he held her tightly.

"Amelia, I miss you," he whispered. His voice was filled with desire, making the atmosphere even more intimate.

In the warm yellow light, Amelia felt her body reacting as well.

Her cheeks flushed as she looked up at Frederick. She was about to kiss him when Anna's voice interrupted them. "Mommy."

Frederick's body stiffened, and after a moment, Amelia felt his arousal fading. His eyes showed a hint of frustration as he whined, "If this keeps up, I'll go impotent sooner or later."

Amelia suppressed a laugh and turned to see Anna sitting up.

Anna was rubbing her eyes with her little hands, looking at them with round, wary eyes. "Mommy," she called out.

Amelia got up from Frederick's arms and walked over to Anna, bending down to pick her up. "I'm here, Anna," she comforted.

Anna wrapped her arms around Amelia's neck and looked towards Frederick. "Uncle Frederick?" Her voice was puzzled and uncertain. After all, Frederick had never stayed in Amelia's room before.

Hearing Anna call him, Frederick turned and responded. "I'm here. Did you have a bad dream?"

Anna shook her head and then noticed Frederick's bare chest. "Uncle Frederick, you're not wearing clothes. Shame on you," she made a cute face.

Amelia cleared her throat, put Anna on the bed, and quickly found a loose black dress from her wardrobe, handing it to Frederick. "Put this on," she demanded.

Frederick raised an eyebrow at the dress. "You want me to wear this?"

Amelia nodded seriously, "Yes. If you don't, you can't get on my bed."

Frederick looked a bit embarrassed. "Amelia, I'm a man, and you want me to wear dress."

Anna, sitting on the bed, tilted her head and looked at Frederick. "Uncle Frederick can wear Grandpa's pajamas. Grandpa is a man too," she suggested, her small voice filled with sincerity.

Amelia nodded in agreement, "Anna is so smart. I'll go get Grandpa's pajamas." She started to stand up, but Frederick quickly grabbed her arm, stopping her in her tracks.

Frederick had a cleanliness obsession, and the thought of wearing someone else's clothes made him uncomfortable. "I'd rather wear yours," he muttered.

Compared to wearing Vincent's pajamas, Frederick found wearing Amelia's dress more acceptable.
