Chapter 250 Only She Could Enjoy Such Privilege
Frederick noticed Amelia avoiding his gaze and tightened his hold on Anna slightly.
Anna, feeling a bit uncomfortable in his arms, squirmed a little. He quickly loosened his grip and looked down to check on her nervously.
When Amelia sensed Anna's movement, she looked over.
She thought Anna was about to wake up. Still, instead, Anna merely found a more comfortable position in Frederick's arms and fell back into a deep sleep.
Seeing Anna’s serene and adorable face, Amelia sighed helplessly.
Amelia longed to hold Anna.
Frederick, observing the maternal glow in Amelia's eyes, couldn't help but gaze at her a bit longer.
Finally, he reached out and handed Anna to Amelia.
A flash of joy appeared in Amelia's eyes as she extended her arms to receive Anna from Frederick.
To avoid waking Anna, both of them moved very gently.
They were so close that he could even catch a faint whiff of her delicate fragrance.
Amelia didn't notice the Frederick's gaze turning from mysterious to emotional as he looked at her. All her attention was on the child. After cradling Anna in her arms, Amelia brought her cheek close to Anna's and inhaled her scent.
Anna had a faint milky fragrance that was very comforting.
Amelia sniffed all around, feeling deeply satisfied.
Amelia restrained herself, worried about waking the child. If Anna were awake, she would play with Amelia for a while.
Amelia sat up straight with Anna in her arms and then noticed Frederick's deep eyes fixed on her.
His expression was subtle, as was the look in his eyes.
Amelia bit her lip, thinking about her recent actions.
Frederick probably thought Amelia had some bad habits.
A trace of embarrassment flashed in her eyes as she averted her gaze, unwilling to meet his eyes.
Amelia looked out the window, and a soft laugh from Frederick reached her ears.
Amelia furrowed her brows and glared at him. 'What is so funny?' she thought.
Anna didn't come from his body, so he didn't understand how a mother felt watching her child grow and change every day, from a tiny being to the adorable creature she was now.
Amelia withdrew her gaze in dissatisfaction, but Frederick remained in good spirits.
They arrived at the restaurant.
Vincent opened the car door and got out.
As Amelia was about to free a hand to open the door, Frederick leaned in slightly, reached out, and opened the car door for her.
As he approached, a fresh and minty scent wafted over, causing Amelia to pause slightly.
Rachel and Sebastian had already arrived at the restaurant.
Seeing Vincent and Amelia, Rachel stepped forward, intending to open the car door for Amelia, only to see Frederick leaning in to open it for her.
Noticing his deliberate physical contact with Amelia, Rachel felt quite disdainful.
Rachel walked over and pulled the car door open a bit more.
Amelia saw Rachel and smiled, bending down to get out of the car. "Rachel."
Rachel nodded and gently supported Amelia, guiding her into the restaurant.
Frederick, seeing Amelia being led away by Rachel, narrowed his eyes slightly and followed Vincent into the restaurant.
Sebastian's gaze lingered on Frederick as if he had something to say.
Taking advantage of Vincent's trip to the restroom, Sebastian approached Frederick with a teasing and mocking tone. "Didn't you say you wouldn't stoop to flattering others without dignity? Why did you follow Amelia the moment she returned?"
Frederick cast a cold glance at Sebastian. Though Frederick didn't speak, his eyes seemed to hide irritation.
Sebastian grinned, unafraid of Frederick's warning look, and continued, "So, being someone who flatters others without dignity isn't so bad after all."
He finished speaking and patted Frederick's shoulder before striding toward Rachel.
Rachel had already led Amelia into the private room.
As soon as Amelia sat down, Anna woke up. She first rubbed her eyes and murmured, "Uncle Frederick."
But as soon as Anna made a sound, she realized it was Amelia holding her.
Immediately, Anna burst into a happy laugh, "Mommy!"
A smile spread across Amelia's face as she held Anna a bit tighter.
Rachel, seeing Anna wake up and call out "Uncle Frederick" first, smiled helplessly.
Frederick had indeed been very attentive in his role as Uncle Frederick lately.
Rachel gently rubbed Anna's head and said, "Forget your Mommy Amelia because of Uncle Frederick? That's not good, you know."
Anna immediately clung tightly to Amelia's neck, acting spoiled. "Mommy, I didn't forget Mommy."
As she spoke, her little hands clung tightly to Amelia, her head resting on Amelia's shoulder, and her bright eyes fixed on Amelia as if worried that Amelia might be upset.
With such a little darling, how could Amelia be angry?
Amelia tilted her head slightly, pressing her cheek against Anna's. Amelia said softly, "I know. You're the best."
Frederick walked in and saw this heartwarming scene. He took the empty seat next to Amelia.
The restaurant's waiter brought hand towels, and Frederick immediately began wiping Anna's hands.
Anna sat in Amelia's lap, her tiny hands in Frederick's, looking especially small.
Clearly, Anna had grown accustomed to his care over time, and her demeanor and actions were very natural.
Amelia couldn't help but glance at Frederick, who was carefully wiping Anna's hands. His eyes were focused and serious, his movements gentle, as if afraid that a bit more force might hurt Anna's delicate skin.
Sebastian let out an untimely sigh.
Rachel gave him a faint glance.
Sebastian picked up a hand towel from the table and looked at Rachel, his tone exaggerated, "Honey, give me your hand. I'll wipe it for you."
Rachel looked at him and slowly placed her hand in his. She said faintly, "Learn from Mr. Hastings. If you're going to wipe hands, just wipe hands and keep your mouth shut."
Frederick, being mentioned by Rachel, showed no discomfort and began wiping Anna's other hand.
Anna's other hand was a bit sticky. As she extended it, she squeezed it.
Earlier, when Anna drank juice, some had spilled on her hand. Now that it had dried, it felt sticky.
"Juice." As Anna spoke, she pointed with her already clean hand to the sticky spot.
"Here." She wore a commanding little expression.
Frederick dutifully began wiping the spot she pointed to.
Seeing the natural and joyful interaction between the two, Amelia was filled with thoughts.
In Kasfee, only Anna could probably enjoy such privilege from Frederick.
