Chapter 203 Divorce Was Not the End but the Beginning
Amelia slept until lunchtime, and when she woke up, her fatigue had eased. She picked up her phone to check it. Frederick had sent her a message. She opened the chat box and glanced at the time Frederick had sent the message, which was two hours ago.
Frederick: [What did you just send me?]
When she saw that message, a slight smile appeared at the corner of her lips, and a hint of pleasure flashed in her eyes.
Amelia: [Nothing.]
Frederick: [What did you delete?]
He replied almost instantly.
Amelia sent a "smiling" emoji, then put down her phone and got up to wash up, lifting the comforter.
She heard Susan's voice outside the door. "Come downstairs for lunch, Ms. Davis."
"Okay, I'll be right down," Amelia responded. She was in a good mood.
After lunch, Amelia changed Anna into an outfit for outings and took Anna to the amusement park for a spin. She rarely got any rest, so she naturally had to make time to accompany her child.
Kasfee Amusement Park.
Amelia got in the line for the carousel with Anna.
As it was their turn, a staff member came forward and stopped Amelia and Anna with a rather firm attitude. "You two wait for the next round. A blogger is coming to shoot promotional videos for the amusement park today, so we need to let the blogger go first."
It was the weekend, and there were already quite a few people at the amusement park.
They had been waiting in line for over half an hour, and as they were about to take their turn, someone wanted to cut in line, which naturally made Anna unhappy.
"No." Anna expressed her dissatisfaction anxiously, her little face full of anger. "Mommy, no." She shook her head, showing her displeasure.
Amelia's eyes turned slightly sullen as she looked at the staff member, saying, "I refuse to wait for the next round."
The staff member's expressions changed slightly, and her attitude became more amiable. "Miss, please work with us."
Amelia's expression was indifferent as she said, "Then please, do not waste our time. Everyone here has paid to enter the amusement park and is waiting in line according to the rules. If you let someone cut in line now, where does that place us?"
The staff member had a stiff expression on her face. When she realized that Amelia was not someone she could mess with, her tone changed accordingly. "Miss, it will only delay you for five minutes."
Amelia smiled. Her attitude was also very polite. "We’ve definitely been waiting here for more than 'five minutes'."
"Have you sorted it out?" Amber's voice appeared amongst the crowd. Some other staff members led her out.
Amber had just been touching up her makeup and discussing the shooting angles with her photographer. She intended to come directly to the carousel but unexpectedly saw Amelia there.
Amelia, who was holding her child, was obviously in a dispute with the staff.
When Amelia saw Amber, her eyes turned slightly cold.
As the saying went, people who didn't get along always seemed to run into each other. Why did she feel like she was always running into Amber?
"Hello, Ms. Davis." Amber greeted Amelia when she saw her. "I see you brought your child here to play today."
When staff member saw that Amelia and Amber knew each other, she quickly said, "Since you know Ms. Roberts, you should let her shoot the video."
Amelia's eyes were calm as she responded, "We know each other, but we're not close. Ms. Roberts, why don't you postpone your shoot?"
The crowd behind Amelia also began to speak up.
"You can shoot at any time. Why did you choose to shoot on the weekend?"
"She might be a park visitor, but the rest of us are visitors too."
"Why are you cutting in line?"
"If you want to shoot a promotional video, you could easily choose a weekday to shoot. It’s hard for anyone to find time to take their children out on weekends. Why should you be allowed to cut in line so casually?"
Amber stood to the side, her face somewhat grim.
"What's going on?" Scott's voice rang out in the crowd. He was surrounded by a group of amusement park officials.
The Sinclairs had been involved in entertainment projects for years. They had many play projects for adults and children in Kasfee. This amusement park was also under the Sinclair family's name.
When Amber saw Scott, she pursed her red lips lightly, smiling as she said, "Scott, you're here."
Amelia shifted her gaze away from Scott and looked calmly at the staff member. "Can you step aside? Everyone is waiting."
The staff member hesitated for a moment, then looked at Scott, seemingly seeking his opinion.
Scott saw that Amelia's gaze didn't even pause on him for a second and furrowed his brows slightly.
He said to the staff member, "Don't hold her up. Let Ms. Davis in."
The staff member quickly withdrew her hand and let Amelia and Anna in.
Anna had waited in line for a long time. When she saw that they could finally go in, she clapped her hands joyfully.
Once they were seated, the carousel started.
Scott stood outside the railing, watching Amelia and Anna.
Amber clenched her teeth inwardly, her gaze also falling on them. She said, "Amelia is really lucky. She had a child, but so many people still like her. Scott, why don't you try dating her? Maybe it will work."
Scott glanced indifferently at Amber.
He was very clear about where he and Amelia stood. He liked Amelia, but he didn’t feel like he had to have her. Amelia showed no interest in him, and he understood how she felt.
Scott coldly said, "Do you think that Frederick will fall in love with you again if I get with Amelia?"
Amber, who had been smiling just a moment ago, stiffened at Scott's words.
She said, "Whatever happens between Frederick and me, at least I’m braver than you. At least I was with Frederick without any regrets. You and Amelia...
Scott's eyes glanced at Amber with a deep meaning.
Amber paused for a moment and did not continue.
Although Scott seemed easygoing, it was hard to know what he was feeling.
Amber had spent considerable time with Scott over the years, so she knew his character.
She just couldn't understand why Scott would like Amelia.
Before Frederick and Amelia's divorce, Amber hadn't been able to sense Scott's affection for Amelia. She had even thought that Scott liked her.
After years of observation, Amber finally realized she had deeply misunderstood.
Scott had gone abroad to persuade Amber to return to the country when she and Frederick had broken up because he had heard the news that the Davis family was going to marry into the Hastings family. He didn't want Frederick and Amelia to get married, so he had gone abroad to try to bring Amber back.
After that, everyone thought Scott liked her.
"Scott, when did you start liking Amelia?" Amber was genuinely curious.
She looked at the man beside her with a probing gaze, only to see Scott's eyes fixed on Amelia in a trance.
Amber couldn't help but clench her fists.
Scott used to be her second choice, but now both her first and second choices were attracted to Amelia. This made her very angry.
She thought that Frederick and Amelia's divorce three years ago was the end, but now it seemed like it was only the beginning.
