Chapter 381 Checking the Phone

Amelia and Frederick left the conference together. When they reached the underground garage, Felix had already driven the car to the elevator entrance.

Rachel's car was parked on one side of the elevator entrance. After sitting in the car for an extended period, Shirley began to feel the stiffness and discomfort settling into her body. Wanting to alleviate the physical strain, she stepped out of the car to stretch and relieve her soreness.

Just as she stretched, she saw Amelia and Frederick walking out of the elevator. Seeing Frederick, she immediately smiled and asked, "Mr. Hastings, is the conference over? Is Ms. Rachel Davis coming down too?"

Frederick didn't even glance at her and responded coldly, "She'll be down in a bit."

Hearing this, Shirley softly said, "Okay," unable to hide the disappointment in her eyes. She was really bored here but didn't dare to go upstairs.

Earlier, Tina had called her to go upstairs, but when Shirley heard that her mother was also at the conference, she immediately refused.

Layla had always wanted her to work at the Hastings Group, but she had gone to the Davis Group instead. Although Layla already knew, Shirley still didn't dare to face her.

Amelia's gaze remained fixed on Shirley for a few more seconds, her thoughts momentarily drifting before refocusing on the present.

The last time she saw Shirley, she had yet to pay much attention to Rachel's new assistant. She had just thought that an assistant who got distracted while driving and caused such a big accident shouldn't stay around.

She had just learned from Layla about Shirley's feelings for Frederick, so she looked at Shirley a bit more. She hadn't noticed Shirley's feelings for Frederick before. At the sight of her subtle expression of disappointment now, she understood.

Shirley noticed Amelia's gaze upon her and was momentarily taken aback. After a brief moment of recollection, she remembered their last encounter and offered an awkward smile in response. "Ms. Amelia Davis."

Amelia softly responded with a "Hmm" and said indifferently, "Your mother is upstairs; aren't you going to see her?"

Shirley's smile became a bit guilty, and she quickly replied, "I'll go up in a bit."

Amelia nodded, her expression calm, and bent down to get into the car with Frederick.

On the way, Amelia leaned back in her seat and closed her eyes to rest. Seeing this, Frederick put his arm around her, letting her rest her head on his shoulder.

Amelia opened her eyes and looked at his perfectly handsome profile, then asked, "Are you hiding something from me?"

Frederick was taken aback, "What do you mean?"

Amelia quietly looked at Frederick for several seconds.

Frederick couldn't think of anything he was hiding from Amelia.

Seeing the slight confusion in his deep blue eyes, Amelia pursed her lips and softly said, "What happened to Rachel last night."

Frederick's grip on Amelia tightened a bit, and he slowly replied, "I didn't tell you last night because I didn't want you to worry."

Amelia looked up at him seriously and said, "I want you to tell me everything that concerns me in the future; don't hide anything from me."

Frederick didn't immediately agree to Amelia's request.

Amelia frowned, "Is it hard to do?"

Frederick smiled helplessly and explained, "No. It's just that some things I can handle well, and I don't want to hide them from you, but I don't want you to worry either."

Amelia snorted softly, "I don't like finding out things later than others."

Frederick smiled and responded, "I don't want to see you worried about other things either."

After he finished speaking, he lowered his head and gently kissed Amelia on the lips.

Amelia immediately pulled away and pressed on. "What's going on with Shirley?"

Frederick couldn't help but laugh when she asked. He knew from the beginning that Amelia wanted to ask this question. "Are you jealous?"

Amelia removed Frederick's hand from her waist and said seriously, "I need to reassess whether you can be a qualified lover."

Hearing this, Frederick immediately pulled Amelia, who was deliberately keeping her distance, into his arms. He said with a poker face, "It seems you're not satisfied with my performance, so I, as a lover, can only work harder to meet your requirements."

Amelia placed her hands on Frederick's chest.

Hearing the commotion in the back, Felix sensibly raised the partition between the driver's seat and the back seat.

"You know I'm not talking about this..." Amelia shot back.

Before Amelia could finish her sentence, Frederick kissed her. Frederick held her tightly in his arms as if he wanted to merge her into his body.

Amelia felt the air was thin as if Frederick was sucking all her strength away. She struggled and pounded on Frederick's chest.

Frederick finally stopped the kiss but didn't loosen his grip on her.

Upon seeing Amelia's flushed face, he smiled slightly and whispered, "Amelia, seeing you jealous makes me happy."

Amelia being jealous meant she still had feelings for him. Even though they had been divorced for three years, he still had a place in Amelia's heart.

Amelia glared at him and retorted, "I'm not jealous! It's just possessiveness. Don't forget, you're just my lover now, a qualified lover..."

Before Amelia could finish, Frederick interrupted, "A qualified lover must remain faithful to their benefactor. I've only met Shirley a few times, and you were there each time. We've never had any private contact, and we don't have each other's contact information."

As he spoke, Frederick took out his phone and handed it to Amelia. He asked, "Do you want to check it?"

Amelia glanced at the phone in Frederick's hand, her eyes showing some emotion. She said, "You have two phones!"

Frederick smiled and knocked on the partition. Felix quickly lowered the partition.

Frederick instructed, "Give me my phone."

Frederick had a phone specifically for work, which was mostly kept with Felix. Felix quickly took out the phone and handed it to Frederick. Frederick took it and handed it to Amelia.

He said, "Check it."

Amelia looked at the two phones in front of her and bit her lip. She had never checked Frederick's phone before.

During their three years of marriage, Frederick's phone was only placed on the bedside table when he slept at night; he carried it with him during the day.

During her moments of utmost insecurity, she would frequently find herself fixated on Frederick's phone resting on the bedside table once he had drifted off to sleep, yearning to uncover its contents.

But she was afraid Frederick would blame her if he found out.

Now, Frederick was voluntarily handing her the phone. She stared at it for several seconds, then took it and asked Frederick confidently, "Password."
