Chapter 325 Is She That Afraid of Being Responsible for Him?

After hearing Tina, Amelia turned to look out the car window and saw Frederick's car following them steadily.

Rachel, sensing Amelia's turmoil, glanced at her with a calm but concerned voice. "He saved you today and has been so kind lately. Is your guard starting to drop?"

Amelia was stunned. Her heart raced, thoughts tangled. Rachel, her older sister, should understand her complex feelings, the years of unspoken yearning and cautious hope. She couldn't deny it, not to Rachel.

Seeing Amelia's silence, Rachel sighed. "You've liked him for so long, Amelia. And he's done so much for you. It's natural to feel something." She paused, her voice serious, "But a man's feelings can change. You can't build your future on the hope of his love."

She looked Amelia in the eye, firm, "If he can't commit to you for life, don't remarry him. Don't get hurt again."

Amelia nodded seriously. "I understand, Rachel."

Rachel responded with a soft "hmm" and dropped the topic. She turned back to the window, silently praying for Amelia's happiness.

Amelia seemed gentle and generous, but she was actually very particular.

One Amber had caused her years of pain.

With someone like Frederick, many women would be eager to get involved.

Rachel didn't want Amelia to suffer because of her feelings.

A woman shouldn't place all her emotions solely on love.

Tina listened quietly from the front. She had seen Amelia and Frederick's three-year marriage and knew how poorly Amelia had fared.

Amelia, once pampered and carefree, had forced herself to become a reserved, dignified family matriarch.

So when Rachel saw Shirley, who resembled Amelia slightly, she kept her as an assistant.

Shirley was lively and active, reminiscent of the old Amelia.

As they neared Davis Manor, Rachel spoke calmly to Tina, "Stop at the gate, take the car back, and thank you for tonight."

Tina nodded lightly, "Thank you, Ms. Davis."

Rachel didn't respond.

At the gate, Tina stopped the car. As she got out to open the door, Rachel opened it herself and got out.

Tina stood aside, and Rachel said calmly, "You can go back now."

Tina nodded, "Okay, Ms. Davis."

Rachel glanced at the car that had stopped nearby.

Frederick got out and walked toward them.

He had changed clothes, showing no signs of urgency from rescuing Amelia on the yacht.

He stepped up to Amelia and spoke softly, "Amelia, my wound was soaked in seawater earlier. Does it need treatment?"

Amelia's expression stiffened as she checked his injured right hand.

Earlier on the yacht, she had been worried about Nicole and the others, forgetting Frederick's hand had just had its stitches removed that morning.

Amelia frowned. "It does need treatment."

Frederick's wound was slightly white from the water.

Seeing her serious expression, Frederick added softly, "My palm is sore and uncomfortable, but I can bear it."

Rachel, standing nearby, raised an eyebrow at Frederick's words.

Seeing Frederick, a six-foot-tall guy acting pitiful in front of Amelia, made Rachel want to punch him. But since he had saved Amelia tonight, she let it slide and headed toward Davis Manor.

The outside light made it hard to see Frederick's hand clearly, so Amelia let go and said, "Let's go inside and take a look."

Frederick nodded and followed.

Amelia hadn't asked about his hand on the yacht and seemed to have forgotten about it after they got off. Frederick felt a sting in his heart on the way to Davis Manor, but seeing her concern now eased it.

Rachel reached the gate, and the security opened it immediately. Just as she was about to step inside, a car screeched to a stop at the gate.

They all turned to look.

Sebastian got out quickly, calling, "Rachel."

He had heard about the yacht incident and rushed to the dock, only to find Rachel had already left, so he hurried to Davis Manor.

Rachel didn't recognize Sebastian's new car. Seeing him, a wave of disgust washed over her, and she turned away, striding into the manor.

Sebastian ran after her, grabbing her arm. "Rachel, we need to talk."

Rachel glared at his hand on her arm. "Let go," she said coldly.

Amelia, protective of her sister, tried to pull Sebastian's hand away, but he held on tight.

The security personnel stepped forward, ready to intervene if needed.

Rachel tried to stay calm. "Let go, Sebastian, and I'll talk to you."

Sebastian hesitated, torn between urgency and fear of losing her again. He finally let go, his eyes pleading.

Rachel, still cold, stood firm. "Take Mr. Hastings inside to treat his wound," she said.

Amelia, remembering Sebastian's past violent outburst, felt a chill. She was hesitant to leave Rachel alone with him.

Rachel chuckled, "I've never suffered a loss outside. Do you think I'll suffer a loss at my doorstep?"

Frederick glanced at Sebastian, a warning in his eyes. If Sebastian messed up today, no one could help him.

Sebastian's eyes showed defeat. He had regretted his actions at the golf course for some time.

Frederick looked at him, then turned to Amelia. "Let's go inside. Don't worry. I'll have Felix keep an eye on things. Sebastian won't harm your sister."

Rachel glanced at Frederick and then said to Amelia, "Hurry up and take Mr. Hastings inside to bandage his hand. If his hand becomes paralyzed, you'll be responsible, and it won't be worth it."

Seeing the security personnel behind Rachel, Amelia nodded. "Okay."

She glanced at Sebastian, then walked into Davis Manor.

Frederick watched her for a few seconds and smiled bitterly. Was she that afraid of being responsible for him?
