Chapter 400 Anna Has Never Received Fatherly Love

Amelia placed her hand on Frederick's chest, trying to create some distance between them. Still, Frederick held her waist tightly and said in a low, seductive tone. "Amelia, can you think of a way to help me out?"

Frederick's warm breath hit Amelia's face as he spoke. Amelia, already feeling hot, now felt her temperature rise even more. "I can't think of a way," she replied softly, her voice barely more than a whisper. Her face was flushed with demureness, and she couldn’t bring herself to meet Frederick's gaze.

Frederick freed one of his hand and guided Amelia's hand downwards. The moment she felt the hardness of his arousal, she felt a searing heat surge through her. She quickly pulled her hand away, her cheeks burning. "Frederick!" she exclaimed, biting her lip lightly, feeling a mix of shyness and annoyance. "Everyone is waiting for us to come down for breakfast."

Seeing her flushed face, tinged with a hint of annoyance, Frederick stopped his actions and kissed her cheek.

"Go freshen up," he said, his voice a mix of resignation and indulgence. "I'll calm myself down."

As Frederick loosened his grip, Amelia stepped out of his embrace. She almost immediately entered the bathroom, afraid he might do something inappropriate again.

Frederick sighed lightly, rubbed his forehead, and went to the balcony to cool off and calm himself.

While brushing her teeth, Amelia peeked out and saw Frederick standing on the balcony. When he saw her, he raised his hand, and Amelia quickly pulled her head back in.

Seeing her cautious look, Frederick couldn't help but smile.

After Amelia finished freshening up, Frederick came in from the balcony.

Although he had calmed down, his voice still carried a hint of passion. "Why don't you just move in with me? Spring Villa has servants, too, and it would be very convenient for us. "

Amelia shook her head decisively.

"Anna might not adapt well to a new environment. Besides, I can't bear to leave my dad alone here," Amelia said calmly, sitting down at the dressing table.

Frederick sighed imperceptibly, walked behind Amelia, and started brushing her hair. Then he said something surprising.

"I could move in here too."

Amelia's eyebrow twitched, and she looked at Frederick through the mirror as he gently brushed her hair. "Mr. Hastings, have you forgotten you're still on probation?" she asked.

Frederick looked at Amelia through the mirror, his deep blue eyes meeting hers. He sighed helplessly. "And when will my probation period end?"

Amelia tilted her head, seemingly in serious thought. Seeing her like this, Frederick smiled. No wonder Anna looked so cute when she tilted her head; she must have learned it from Amelia.

He couldn't help but pinch Amelia's cheek as if the answer didn't matter anymore. As long as he was by Amelia's side, it would be enough.

After thinking for a while, Amelia still couldn't come up with a definite answer.

Frederick leaned down and kissed her cheek, speaking softly. "I believe you won't make me wait too long."

Amelia, enchanted by his gentle tone, nodded absentmindedly. Seeing her response, Frederick lifted her chin and kissed her harder, but the kiss didn't last long before Amelia pushed him away.

Amelia looked serious and reminded him, "Don't mess around, or you'll have to go to the balcony to cool off again."

Frederick was silent. Sometimes, Amelia was frighteningly calm.

After freshening up and getting dressed, Amelia went downstairs.

Anna had already started eating. Vincent and Rachel were sitting at the table but hadn't started yet, obviously waiting for them.

Amelia walked over and sat next to Anna. Vincent quickly invited Frederick to join them for breakfast. Frederick nodded politely and sat next to Amelia.

Seeing them come down, Rachel glanced at her watch and said meaningfully, "Took you long enough."

Vincent, hearing Rachel's words, thought she was unhappy about Amelia and Frederick delaying breakfast.

After all, Rachel had already received two calls from the office, probably about issues that needed her urgent attention.

But to Amelia and Frederick, Rachel's words had a different meaning.

Amelia couldn't help but cough lightly to cover her embarrassment. Frederick, however, seemed unfazed by Rachel's words as he sat calmly next to Amelia.

Seeing him so unfazed calmed Amelia down, and she pretended not to hear Rachel's words.

Vincent, seeing Amelia's composed expression, understood something and smiled. "Let's eat breakfast quickly; you all have to go to work soon. Don't waste too much time."

As he finished speaking, Rachel picked up her knife and fork and started eating.

At the table, except for Anna occasionally asking curious questions, few people spoke.

After breakfast, Frederick put down his knife and fork, looked at Vincent, and said seriously. "Mr. Davis, I'd like to take Anna to work so I can spend more time with her."

Anna's eyes lit up at the thought of going to Frederick's company again, but Vincent looked slightly concerned. He hesitated, "Anna might affect your work." The last time Anna went to Frederick's office, she ruined several signed agreements.

"She won't." Frederick said softly. Anna might be sensitive because she lacked parental companionship. Frederick wanted to keep her by his side to build their relationship and make up for the lost father-daughter bonding time.

"I won't cause trouble," Anna said meekly, looking adorable. She was afraid Vincent wouldn't let her go to Frederick's office.

Seeing Anna so eager, Vincent relented.

"As long as it's not a bother for you," Vincent said softly, then gently tapped Anna's nose. "At your dad's office, you can't be naughty or run around."

Anna nodded seriously, as if taking Vincent's words to heart.

Vincent knew Anna could be obedient for short bursts of time, but once at the Hastings Group, who knew what mischief she'd get into?

"You're so smart." Vincent smiled, pinched her cheek, then withdrew his hand and said, "Go ahead."

Anna's eyes brightened, and she opened her arms to Frederick, wanting a hug. She was visibly happy.

Amelia stood aside, her eyes inexplicably welling with tears. Because of her selfishness, Anna had never received fatherly love. This had led to Anna's current sense of insecurity. She felt a pang of guilt in her heart.
