Chapter 166 Amelia Didn't Even Want Frederick, How Could She Be Interested in Dylan?
"Ms. Davis."
Harold changed his address to Amelia, and his expression was very embarrassed.
Amelia had a faint smile on her face, looking calm.
"Dylan and I can't get married. Before, I was just commissioned by Dylan to meet you, worried that you couldn't accept his preferences and that Madison would be upset. I just saw Madison in good health and strong in acceptance, so Dylan was overly concerned. Anna is my daughter alone, with no relation to Dylan."
Amelia politely smiled and walked away.
Harold felt that Amelia's statement that Anna was her only child was an angry remark.
He sighed and watched Amelia leave, then carefully returned to Brittany's ward.
When Frederick entered Brittany's ward, he didn't know what Madison and Brittany had said, but Brittany's expression was angry, trying to speak urgently but unable to articulate a complete sentence.
She could only pat her thigh.
Madison sat beside Brittany, speaking softly,
"I told you before, Amelia is not worthy of Frederick. She's not only unworthy of Frederick but even our Dylan, yet she's cunning, secretly giving birth to Dylan's child, Anna! Now, she's using Anna to coerce Dylan into marrying her! The two families have been ruined by her!!"
Frederick stood at the ward door with a cold face, saying, "Madison. Brittany is not feeling well. Please don't say these things to her."
Madison paused when she saw Frederick enter.
Brittany kept shaking her head to deny what Madison said.
But in the eyes of Madison and Frederick, they couldn't accept that Brittany, who seemed to like Amelia so much, now knew the truth about her and couldn't handle it.
Brittany anxiously took out a piece of paper from the table, wanting to write on it, but her hand was shaking so much that she couldn't write a complete word.
Seeing this, Frederick had to ask Madison to leave.
"Madison, you should go back."
Madison was worried that what she and Brittany had said might worsen Brittany's condition, so she quickly said to Frederick,
"Frederick, it's not that I want to marry Amelia into the Kingsley family. She's using Anna as leverage, and I have no choice. You and Dylan are cousins. I hope the Hastings family and the Kingsley family won't be divided because of her."
Madison's biggest concern was still Dylan.
If he married Amelia, Frederick would lose his face and potentially turn against the Kingsley family, so all the blame had to be shifted to Amelia.
She grabbed Frederick's hand desperately, looking helpless.
Frederick, with a stern face, coldly said, "I'm divorced from Amelia, and she's free to marry. Madison, how could it be that I create a rift between Dylan and me over an insignificant woman like Amelia?"
When Harold came in and heard Frederick's words, he finally let go of his suspended heart.
Madison also breathed a sigh of relief.
Brittany shook the water glass off the table in frustration.
Frederick walked over with a frown.
Madison held Harold's hand and left Brittany's ward.
Brittany was very dissatisfied with Madison's words.
She knew exactly when Amelia got pregnant and when she met Dylan.
Madison was slandering Amelia in front of her, telling crude lies.
But she couldn't say a word now, unable to defend Amelia, just letting Madison speak in front of her.
Frederick went to Brittany and helped her sit back on the sofa.
"Grandma, I'm divorced from Amelia, so it has nothing to do with us. You don't need to be angry about this."
Brittany shook her head vigorously.
She was eager to defend Amelia and speak the truth, but she couldn't say a word.
Frederick reached out to her, but Brittany pushed his hand away resentfully, looking at Frederick with resentment.
If it weren't for Frederick and Amelia's divorce, things wouldn't have turned out like this today.
Seeing Brittany angry, Frederick sighed.
"Grandma..."
He spoke, but Brittany covered her ears directly, unwilling to hear his voice.
Tom went back to the Hastings Manor, brought some clean clothes for Brittany, and also brought Mary to take care of her.
When Brittany saw Tom, she immediately gestured to see Amelia.
Tom didn't understand Brittany's meaning for a moment.
Brittany impatiently patted her thigh and cried in distress.
Frederick, seeing Brittany like this, clenched his hand tightly, wishing he could punch the wall to vent all his emotions at that moment.
But in the end, he restrained himself, looked at Tom, and said calmly, "Go get Amelia."
Tom quickly turned and left Brittany's ward to call Amelia.
When Amelia heard that Brittany was very emotional and wanted to see her, she knew that Madison must have said something to Brittany.
She walked into Brittany's ward with a serious expression.
Frederick stood with a cold face in the ward.
Mary also looked uneasy.
Brittany, upon seeing Amelia, became excited.
Amelia sighed and walked over to hold Brittany's hand, saying, "Grandma..."
When Frederick saw Brittany calm down completely upon seeing Amelia, he frowned, turned, and left Brittany's ward.
He closed the door as he left.
Amelia looked at the closed door and said softly,
"Grandma, there's nothing between Dylan and me. It's just a misunderstanding. I know Madison said something to you, but you have to believe me."
Brittany nodded seriously, indicating that she believed Amelia.
Amelia didn't know Dylan before going abroad, so what Madison said in front of her was just a lie.
She was just angry that Madison mentioned Anna.
She didn't even want Frederick; how could she be interested in Dylan, a man who was as delicate as a girl?
