Chapter 99 A Fake Can Never Match Up to the Real Thing
Seeing that Amber wasn't paying any attention to her, Wendy continued speaking, "It's all because of that shameless woman Amelia. If it wasn't for her marrying Mr. Hastings back then, you and Mr. Hastings wouldn't have broken up."
When Amber heard Wendy mention Amelia, she snapped back to reality and tightly grasped the blanket.
Brittany approached Amber's ward and overheard Wendy's words. She walked into the ward with a cold face.
Amber's face turned pale upon seeing Brittany. Wendy had also seen Brittany a few times when she went to Emily's grave. Now seeing Brittany walking in with a stern expression, she felt extremely nervous.

Wendy summoned up her courage and stood firm.
Upon hearing her words, Brittany was amused.
"Is that so? But when Ms. Roberts and Frederick broke up, he didn't even know Amelia. He was a successful man who thought for himself. If he didn't want to marry Amelia, could I have forced him?"
Wendy paused and fell silent. Tom, who was next to Brittany, glanced at Amber, then shifted his gaze onto Wendy.
"Where did you get this information? Did Ms. Roberts tell you?" he asked.
Wendy bit her lip inwardly.
Tom smiled and continued, "Why did Jimmy have a conflict with Ms. Roberts? It was because she fed him false information. That's why today's drama unfolded. Ms. Reed, do you want to become the next Jimmy?"
Wendy wasn't clear about the conflict between Jimmy and Amber. Recently, Jimmy had exposed Frederick and Rachel's "marriage," which had stirred up heated debates and resulted in Rachel being criticized by netizens for a long time.
Later, Jimmy released a video of Frederick forcefully kissing Amelia, causing another uproar.
At that time, Wendy had seen the news online.
Then she saw that the Hastings Group sued Jimmy, and only then did she realize that everything was fabricated by him.
Amber's face stiffened upon hearing Tom speak in front of Wendy. She took a deep breath and hurriedly denied it.
"Jimmy's actions have nothing to do with me. I had no idea he would release those false pieces of information."
Tom calmly looked at Amber and spoke up.
"We've already asked Mr. Collins earlier. He said that the hidden marriage between Mr. Hastings and Ms. Rachel was something you told him. You can't deny that, can you?"
Amber fell silent, catching Wendy's gaze which was slightly furrowed.
"Amber..." Wendy started to say.
Taking a deep breath, Amber looked at Wendy.
Wendy and Amber had been friends for years, and Wendy was the only person who spoke up for her when she faced problems. So, Amber didn't want to lose their friendship just yet.
"Wendy, you should go back for now. I will explain everything later," Amber said.
Noticing Amber's pale face and Brittany's displeased expression, Wendy shook her head.
"It's okay, I believe you. I'll stay here with you."
Amber had never done anything to harm Wendy's interests. Moreover, in Wendy's eyes, Amber had always been kind and gentle, while Jimmy was an ambitious person. Back in school, Brittany had shown her ambitious side too.
Considering the current situation, Wendy believed that Jimmy must be at fault.
As Amber listened to Wendy's words, she felt touched.
Brittany looked at Wendy and Amber with a cold face, about to speak, when Felix came out of the elevator and walked straight to Amber's hospital room door.
Brittany saw Felix and greeted him respectfully.
"Mrs. Hastings. Uncle Tom."
Tom glanced at Felix, his eyes flashing a warning.
Amelia had gone to Fondaniss today, and Brittany was already angry. If Felix came to find Amber at a time like this for Frederick's sake, Brittany might get even angrier.
Thinking that Felix had come to help Frederick, Brittany looked at Felix with a cold face.
"What are you here for?"
Standing to the side, Felix whispered, "Mr. Hastings knew you would come to find Ms. Roberts, so he specifically instructed me to come. He wanted me to assure you that he has no relationship with Ms. Roberts now, and there will be no relationship in the future."
Hearing this, Brittany glanced at Amber.
Upon hearing Felix's words, Amber froze.
She bit her lip tightly, remaining silent.
She knew that what Felix said was true. When she held onto Frederick's arm tightly last night, she clearly saw his disdainful look in his eyes.
Still, she was reluctant to give up just like that.
Observing Amber's expression, Brittany sneered.
Despite Amber's attempts to change who she was, Frederick mistook Amelia for Amber and they ended up being involved with each other. This revelation came as a shock to Amber, who had only recently learned about it.
Brittany's remarks about Amber being a counterfeit hit her hard, as she had never intended to imitate Amelia, but only wanted to become the kind of woman Frederick liked. Amber couldn't understand why Amelia was considered genuine while she felt like a fake.
