Chapter 103 His Handsome Features Were Hidden in the Shadow, Concealing His Expression

Frederick leaned back on the couch, his cold and stern face unchanged. Witnessing this scene, Tom couldn't help but let out a sigh.

"Mr. Hastings..."

Before he could say anything else, Frederick stood up from the couch. He appeared calm, as if he knew what Tom wanted to say.

"I still have some work to do. I need to go."

Upon hearing this, Tom hesitated, not knowing what to say. He could only watch as Frederick left Hastings Manor.

Frederick walked into the garage. He opened the car door, sat in the driver's seat, and drove away.

He headed toward the Hastings Group, but as soon as he pulled up to the building, he suddenly turned around and drove toward Davis Manor.

At Davis Manor, Daniel was in the yard, talking on the phone with Selah. Selah was trying to persuade Daniel to give up on Amelia.

In their three years in Fondaniss, Amelia had never considered starting a relationship with Daniel. After returning to Kasfee, it was certain she would spend more time with Frederick.

Daniel didn't stand a chance. After all, Frederick was Anna's father.

Daniel was concerned that Selah's words would be overheard by the Davis family, so he walked outside the yard to answer the call.

"Mom, you don't need to worry about my affairs."

This was his last chance. If Amelia ultimately chose Frederick, Daniel would accept that outcome. For now, everything was still undecided. He may not necessarily be the loser, so Daniel wanted to persist and give it his all one last time.

Upon hearing Daniel's words, Selah sighed with discontent. "You didn't agree to the marriage I arranged for you before. Now, that girl is already married and recently gave birth to twin daughters. When I attended the banquet, her mother deliberately mocked me. It drove me crazy.

"Daniel, if you persist, all the good prospects of your age will get taken away by someone else..."

Daniel listened quietly to Selah's words and looked up to see a silver sports car drive past the gate of Davis Manor.

Visitors were rare at Davis Manor. Daniel frowned as the sound of the sports car's engine faded. Obviously, the person stopped the car. Daniel immediately guessed who it was.

He sighed and saw Amelia walk out of the house. Before Selah could finish her sentence, Daniel gently said, "Is Anna looking for me?"

Upon hearing Daniel's words, Selah paused for a moment. Eventually, she said, "So be it, do whatever you want."

With that, she ended the call.

Daniel put away his phone and walked toward Amelia. Amelia had a smile on her face and said, "Anna's asleep. My father wanted to speak with you."

Hearing this, Daniel nodded. Seeing that Amelia was only wearing a thin shirt, he softly said, "The weather hasn't been good lately. Hurry inside. If you catch a cold, Anna might catch it."

Amelia nodded and turned to walk into the house. Daniel walked beside Amelia. He reached out his hand, not quite touching Amelia's waist, but from someone else's perspective, it looked like Daniel was embracing her.

Frederick sat in the car, staring blankly at the scene. He pulled out a cigarette from the cigarette box. He lit it and smoke filled the car. His handsome features were hidden in the shadows, and no one could see his expression.

The main lights inside Davis Manor were turned off, leaving only a few dim lights to guide people's steps. Frederick restarted the car and left.

As Amelia slept, she could hear the engine sound of the sports car outside, and Frederick's figure immediately flashed through her mind. Just a moment ago, she was very sleepy, but upon thinking of that man, her fatigue disappeared. She opened her eyes and quietly looked at Anna lying in her bed, her eyes filled with love. Luckily, Anna resembled her more, so she rarely thought of Frederick in her years away.

The next morning, Amelia woke up. Because she didn't sleep well, she noticed dark circles under her eyes as she washed her face.

Anna woke up and laid quietly in her bed, playing. When Amelia sat at the dressing table to put on makeup, she walked over to play with Amelia's cosmetics.

She was very curious about these types of products. Amelia bought her many toy cosmetics to play with.

Anna gazed at Amelia affectionately. Looking into her round eyes, Amelia suddenly felt at ease.

She held Anna in her arms and gently asked, "Anna, am I beautiful?"

Anna nodded obediently, staying in Amelia's embrace. She reached out and cupped Amelia's face, earnestly looking at her.

Amelia stared at her eyes and paused for a moment. Sometimes, Anna's expressions and gaze reminded Amelia of Frederick.

"What's wrong?" Amelia softly asked.

Anna didn't reply, she just nuzzled against Amelia with her head.

"Mommy, you're so beautiful."

Anna's voice sounded pleasant, touching Amelia. Amelia smiled softly and hugged Anna tightly. She said, "And so are you."

Anna nodded. "I am as beautiful as Mommy." As she said that, she picked up a lipstick. "Put on lipstick."

Amelia immediately understood what she meant. Anna wanted to help Amelia apply lipstick. Amelia was delighted.

Rachel had to go to work today. When she saw that Anna and Amelia hadn't come out from their room yet, she went to knock on Amelia's door.

The knocking sound startled Anna, causing the lipstick to be applied unevenly. She smiled apologetically.

Rachel's voice came from outside the door. "Amelia, Anna, are you awake?"

Anna immediately got out of Amelia's embrace and walked to the door to open it. "Aunt Rachel."

Her voice was clear, and she looked sweet and lovely. Rachel immediately picked up Anna and gave her a kiss.

"Anna, you smell nice. Did you sleep well last night?"

Amelia and Anna had just returned to Kasfee, so Rachel was worried about Anna experiencing jet lag.

"I slept well," Anna obediently replied.

Amelia sat at the dressing table and wiped off the lipstick that Anna had just applied. After reapplying the lipstick, she stood up.

Rachel looked at Amelia. Amelia rarely wore makeup. If she wasn't going out, she hardly ever wore any.

"Are you going out?"

Amelia yawned and said softly, "I didn't sleep well last night, and I have dark circles today. I'm putting on makeup to cover them."

As she said that, she glanced at herself in the mirror and smiled. "But my makeup today looks beautiful. It would be a waste if I didn't go out for a stroll."
