Chapter 168 Anna Wanted to Take Care of Uncle Frederick with Mommy
Amelia started the car with a cold face and drove to the entrance of the Pearl Building.
The security guard at the entrance immediately came out to stop her.
When he saw it was Amelia, he was stunned and then greeted her proactively.
"Ms. Davis, hello."
Amelia nodded lightly.
The security guard immediately had someone open the door and let Amelia in.
Amelia went all the way to the floor where Frederick lived and entered the room after entering the password.
Paul was struggling to help Frederick up from the ground.
"Water!"
Frederick lay back on the sofa, feeling dry and thirsty.
Paul heard him and quickly went to get water.
Just as he turned around, he saw Amelia had already filled a cup with water from the water dispenser and handed it to him.
"Thank you." Paul quickly took the cup of water and helped Frederick up to drink.
After taking two sips, Frederick lay back on the sofa.
Feeling uncomfortable, he made a muffled sound.
Paul, seeing this, whispered, "Mr. Hastings, Ms. Davis is here. Should I let her take care of you?"
Frederick had been in a bad mood these days, and no one dared to provoke him.
Paul had been careful around him during this time.
Upon hearing Paul's words, Frederick slightly lifted his eyelids, then shook his head.
"No need."
His voice was low, with a hint of resistance in his eyes.
After speaking, he raised his arm to his forehead.
Seeing this, Amelia sighed and placed the medicine on the nearby table, saying softly,
"This is the medication for his second treatment."
Amelia glanced faintly at the man lying on the sofa, then turned to leave.
Paul's face showed a mix of embarrassment, not knowing how to detain Amelia.
Just as Amelia reached the door, a loud noise came from inside the room.
"Ms. Davis, could you please help me?"
Paul's plea followed immediately.
Amelia frowned and returned to the room, only to see Frederick rolling off the sofa.
Paul struggled to lift Frederick on his own.
With a stern face, she walked over and reached out to help.
After many attempts, both of them struggled but couldn't lift Frederick.
"Ms. Davis, you hold Mr. Hastings' upper body, and I'll lift his lower body."
Amelia nodded and followed Paul's suggestion.
After many efforts, they finally managed to lift Frederick back onto the sofa.
The faint fragrance on Amelia's body wafted into Frederick's nostrils.
Frederick held onto her waist tightly, unwilling to let go.
"Amelia." He called her name softly.
Amelia frowned, trying to pry his hand away, but after several attempts, it had no effect.
Frederick, who was drunk, had a strong grip. Even when she pinched his arm hard, he didn't loosen his hold.
In the end, Amelia could only look to Paul for help.
However, Paul, who had been standing behind her moments ago, had already left.
Amelia sighed and, with a stiff body, found herself firmly held by Frederick.
She waited quietly, planning to remove his hand once he fell asleep.
As she felt the man's breathing gradually become steady, she tried to shift slightly, but his grip tightened immediately.
"Frederick, let go of me," she spoke heavily.
Seemingly oblivious, Frederick tightened his hold even more despite sensing her resistance.
Amelia, feeling the pain in her waist, found it unbearable.
"Frederick, you're hurting me!"
Upon hearing her, Frederick loosened his grip slightly but still held onto her tightly.
Compared to before, when he had her completely trapped, Amelia's hand could now reach her phone in her bag.
She took out her phone and saw a message from Paul.
Paul: [Sorry, Ms. Davis, something urgent came up at the company, and I had to leave. Mr. Hastings is in your care, thank you.]
Amelia was left speechless.
Fortunately, ten minutes later, Frederick fell into a deep sleep and released his grip.
Amelia managed to break free and was about to leave.
However, as she took just two steps, the man on the sofa turned over, almost falling to the ground again.
Amelia quickly moved to block him.
Vincent's call came in at that moment.
Amelia pushed Frederick back to his original position and answered Vincent's call. "Dad."
"Anna played with the fish tank this afternoon and may have caught a cold. She's running a fever now and insists on seeing you. Are you still at work?" Vincent sounded anxious.
Anna's crying could be heard from the phone.
"I'll be right back," Amelia replied immediately.
She hung up, ready to leave, but Frederick turned over again, almost falling to the ground once more.
Amelia frowned.
Vincent heard the commotion on the other end. "What's going on over there?"
Amelia sighed, sounding helpless.
"Frederick got drunk, and Paul had to leave for work."
Vincent fell silent for a few seconds before saying, "Are you at the Pearl Building? We'll come over."
With Frederick unable to free himself, Amelia had no choice but to agree to Vincent's visit.
After ending the call with Vincent, Amelia struggled but couldn't lift Frederick back onto the sofa.
Seeing Frederick in his current state, Amelia felt powerless.
As she watched him lying motionless on the floor, there was a moment when she wanted to leave.
Her eyes welled up with tears. Feeling defeated, she struck Frederick a few times.
"Frederick! You're making me exhausted."
Frederick on the floor seemed to hear her words and struggled to get up.
As he exerted himself, Amelia easily helped him back onto the sofa this time.
Lying on the sofa, Frederick gazed at Amelia with a vacant look, his deep blue eyes now clouded.
"I've troubled you." His tone was polite as he closed his eyes.
Vincent soon arrived with Anna.
Amelia heard the doorbell and went to open the door.
Anna still had a fever patch on her forehead, and Vincent carried her, holding Anna's medicine in his hand.
As soon as Amelia opened the door, Vincent caught a strong whiff of alcohol.
At that moment, Anna quickly pinched her nose.
"Stinky."
Amelia felt somewhat helpless.
Vincent carried Anna inside, glanced at Frederick lying on the sofa, and sighed.
"You take Anna back, and I'll take care of him here."
Amelia shook her head and said, "I want to talk to him properly after he sobers up."
Brittany was still in the hospital, and with Frederick's drinking problem as his primary doctor, she couldn't watch his condition worsen.
Vincent glanced at Anna in his arms.
Anna looked at Frederick on the sofa, then at Amelia, and immediately reached out to Amelia with open arms. "I want to take care of Uncle Frederick with Mommy."
