Chapter 77 Apologize to Her

Amber nervously looked at him and immediately regretted asking.

Her face stiffened. Before Frederick could answer, she let go of his hand.

Frederick had a cold expression. He walked past her without a word, cold and heartless.

Amber stood there, her body tense. She had a look of disappointment and panic on her face. She wanted to go after Frederick, but she didn't dare.

Her tears were about to fall.

Sebastian glanced at her and followed Frederick.

Noah and Yves walked past Amber as if nothing had happened.

Scott remained seated, taking out a cigar from a box beside him. He lit it and slowly got up from his seat. As he passed by Amber, he took out a green banknote from his bag and handed it to her.

"Take a taxi back."

Amber froze as she looked at the green banknote in her hand, holding back her tears.

"What do you mean, Scott?"

Scott glanced at her casually and asked, "Didn't you say you didn't have any money?"

Amber bit her lip. An inexplicable sense of humiliation overwhelmed her.

She took a deep breath. Seeing that Scott remained the same as always, she thought maybe she was overthinking it.

She handed the banknote back to Scott.

"I have money for a taxi. I'm not that poor yet."

Scott raised an eyebrow and glanced at the bills in his hand. As if remembering something, he casually added, "Oh, by the way, the one million dollars I lent you, you haven't given me an IOU yet. Remember to write one for me tomorrow."

Amber's face changed slightly. "Are you afraid I won't pay you back?"

Scott shook his head and said, "No, I'm afraid I'll forget over time."

Amber fell silent. In a short period of time, she couldn't repay Scott's money. She just didn't expect Scott to ask her to write an IOU. Didn't he like her? Why was he treating her like this?

Scott walked past her, calm and composed, as if everything was normal. But Amber could clearly sense that something had changed. It wasn't just him, even Frederick's attitude towards her had changed.

She took a deep breath, trying to hold back her discomfort, but she couldn't control her tears from falling. She broke down. She crouched on the ground, unable to stop herself from crying.

Sebastian followed Frederick and opened the passenger door of his car. "Do you really hate her?"

Frederick glanced at him coldly and said, "If you don't want to ride with me, then get out."

Sebastian smiled and fastened his seatbelt. "Didn't you like Amber not too long ago? Why are you so indifferent to her now? You're truly heartless."

Frederick glanced at him, his gaze filled with warning. Seeing this, Sebastian awkwardly smiled and made a gesture to silence himself. Frederick then turned his attention away and started the car.

After driving for a while, Sebastian couldn't help but say, "If you really don't want to lose Amelia, then apologize to her. If she goes to Fondaniss, you won't have a chance anymore."

Frederick's face turned cold, and he parked the car by the side of the road. "Get out."

Sebastian smiled, shaking his head. "I'm just saying."

Frederick looked at his shameless appearance and became even more indifferent. He unfastened Sebastian's seatbelt and kicked him out of the car.

Scott's car was just behind them. After being kicked out, Sebastian smoothly got into Scott's car. He had thought Amber would be in Scott's car, but after getting in, he didn't see her.

He glanced at the relaxed Scott and muttered, "You guys are truly heartless."

Scott raised an eyebrow and calmly replied, "I never had any feelings for her."

Sebastian had nothing to say.

Meanwhile, at the Davis Manor, Amelia had gone to bed early the night before and woke up early.

As she supported herself down the stairs, Vincent was exercising in the yard.

Susan walked out of the kitchen and saw Amelia, quickly walking over to assist her. "Ms. Davis, why don't you sleep in a little longer? Breakfast will be ready soon."

Susan helped Amelia onto the wheelchair and crouched down to check her ankle.

Since she hadn't taken any medication, her ankle was still swollen.

"Why isn't there any improvement?" Susan was worried. Amelia looked down at her ankle and smiled.

She said, "Even if I took medication, it wouldn't heal so quickly It may take about a week for the swelling to go down."

Susan sighed.

Amelia smiled lightly, "I'll go to the yard to breathe some fresh air."

Upon hearing this, Susan reached out to push the wheelchair. Amelia didn't stop her and allowed Susan to push her into the yard.

Vincent saw Amelia coming out and stopped exercising, walking towards her. He hadn't taken two steps when the security guards at the door brought Daniel in.

"Mr. Davis, Ms. Davis, Mr. Vanderbilt is here."

Daniel saw Amelia sitting in the wheelchair, her face a bit pale. He was worried and quickly walked over.

"Vincent, Amelia, good morning."

Vincent nodded and invited Daniel inside. "Come in and have a seat."

"Alright," Daniel said, reaching out to push Amelia's wheelchair.

After the three of them entered the house, Daniel took out the medicine he brought.

"I heard that Amelia sprained her foot, so I asked a friend to buy this medicine from a famous doctor. It's very effective for bruises and injuries."

As he spoke, he bent down to check Amelia's ankle.

Amelia felt a little uncomfortable.

Seeing this, Susan immediately walked over and politely took the bottle of medicine from Daniel's hand.

"Thank you, Mr. Vanderbilt. Ms. Davis just used medicine prescribed by the hospital. I will save the medicine you brought for her to use tonight, so that there won't be any conflicts in their effects and we won't waste your kind intentions."

Daniel nodded, not questioning Susan's rationale.

Amelia breathed a sigh of relief.

Vincent remained calm. He invited Daniel to sit.

"Daniel, please have a seat."

Daniel nodded slightly and sat down next to Amelia.

Vincent sighed and said regretfully, "If Amelia hadn't been injured, we would have already arrived at Fondaniss by now. I heard that your sister's wedding is in two days, but unfortunately, we won't make it in time."

Amelia had no idea about Megan Vanderbilt, Daniel's sister, getting married. She was somewhat surprised to hear Vincent mention it.

"Megan is getting married?" Amelia asked.

Daniel nodded and said, "I was planning to tell you when we were on the plane and then we could go together to attend her wedding, but things changed. Her wedding is taking place at the Castle Resort in Centennial Park in Fondaniss. I will fly back to Fondaniss tonight, and Rachel will also be there."

Rachel and Megan had been good friends for many years, so it was certain that Rachel would attend the wedding.

However, when Amelia heard that the wedding would be held at the Castle Resort in Centennial Park, she looked disappointed.

Three years ago, when she had just married Frederick, she had also considered having their wedding there. At that time, she had already checked the availability of the Castle Resort and had a comprehensive wedding plan in mind.

However, Frederick made it clear that he did not want to publicly acknowledge their marriage, so she gave up the idea of having a wedding.

There was no woman who didn't want to walk down the aisle in a wedding dress towards the man she loved. Thinking back to that time, Amelia still felt a bit sad.
