Chapter 219 The Daughter-in-Law She Wanted

The Rodriguez family held the wedding at their estate.

Almost all the prominent families who had business dealings with the Rodriguez family were invited.

In Tideport City, the Rodriguez family was considered a prestigious and influential family.

This time, it was Silas Rodriguez from the Rodriguez family who was getting married.

Silas had a somewhat shady background, being born out of wedlock.

Only after his mother passed away did Mr. Rodriguez allow him into the Rodriguez family.

However, his character was rather unruly and improper, and he was not suitable for important occasions. Thus, over the years, the major business of the Rodriguez Group was mostly handled by Billy Rodriguez of the Rodriguez family.

Virgil had given Silas a hundred million dollars for investment in his early years.

Silas invested in several Internet companies, all of which were struggling.

This time, his bride was also a social media personalities.

In such wealthy families, how could they allow someone to marry a social media personality?

Recently, the bride publicly announced her engagement to Silas online and even posted her pregnancy test report.

She and Silas had always portrayed themselves as a loving couple online.

Whenever she cried and played the victim, her fans would go crazy and start attacking the Rodriguez Group.

Even at the Rodriguez Group's new product launch event, the news was criticizing Mr. Rodriguez's outdated ideology, and the new products developed by Rodriguez Group were likely remnants of old ideas.

Nowadays, it was an era of free love and marriage. Arranged marriages by elders were no longer advocated.

Although the bride's fans were just making a small fuss, over time, it could still impact the Rodriguez Group.

Virgil finally had to compromise.

Amelia sat quietly in the car, listening to Rachel discuss these incidents, with a slight look of confusion in her eyes.

Rachel rarely talked to her about such topics, so there must be a reason for her to bring it up now.

In families like theirs, matching social status was highly valued.

Amelia also acknowledged the importance of matching social status.

After all, people who grew up in vastly different environments had completely different living habits, family environments, and social circles.

A marriage could be sustained not only by the love between two people.

If a girl married down, she might be drained of all her value. If she married up, the material conditions might be much better, but if she didn't get the approval of the elders, she might have to be very cautious and submissive in the Rodriguez family.

"I heard you've been getting close to one of Daniel's friends, Jesse, lately." As Amelia was pondering, Rachel softly mentioned.

Sebastian immediately perked up to eavesdrop when Rachel mentioned Jesse, afraid of missing out on something important.

Amelia was stunned for a few seconds, then realized that Rachel had probably misunderstood her relationship with Jesse. She explained, "Jesse and I are just friends. I can distinguish the pros and cons of the situation."

Rachel nodded lightly. "It's good that you understand."

Sebastian, who was driving, also breathed a sigh of relief upon hearing Amelia's response.

He was relieved for Frederick.

As Sebastian drove the car to the Rodriguez family's estate, the Rodriguez family's servants immediately stepped forward to help open the car door.

Rachel was the first to step out of the car.

Patricia Rodriguez saw her and walked over with a smile as she said, "Ms. Davis, please come in."

Rachel nodded slightly and reached out to help Amelia.

Amelia placed her hand in Rachel's palm and bent down to get out of the car.

Patricia's eyes lit up when she saw Amelia. She curiously asked Rachel, "Who is this?"

Amelia rarely appeared in formal events related to the Davis Group, so many prominent families who had business dealings with the Davis Group didn't know about Amelia.

"This is my sister." Rachel introduced with a smile.

Patricia was stunned for a few seconds and asked, "Your biological sister?"

Rachel nodded and then softly introduced Amelia. "This is Patricia."

Amelia smiled slightly and extended her hand, "Patricia, I'm Amelia."

Patricia shook hands with Amelia and couldn't take her eyes off her.

She had previously wanted to match Rachel with her son, but when she found out Rachel was dating Sebastian, she gave up on the idea.

Now, seeing that Rachel had a sister who was elegant and poised, it was hard not to have other thoughts.

"Ms. Davis, please come in," Patricia said. After she shook hands with Amelia, she was reluctant to let go of her, leading them into the estate.

Sebastian noticed Patricia's enthusiasm towards Amelia and immediately thought of her son, Billy, who was still single in Tideport City.

Seeing how warm Patricia was toward Amelia, he guessed she had some ideas.

Although Sebastian had never interacted with Billy, he had heard of his reputation.

The Rodriguez family had managed to remain strong in the competitive Tideport City largely because of Billy.

Calling Billy a rising star in the business world wouldn't be an exaggeration.

Sebastian took out his phone, opened Frederick's social media, and quickly edited a message to send.

Sebastian: [If you don't come to the Rodriguez family wedding, Amelia will be taken.]

Just as he sent the message, Rachel's cold gaze swept over.

Sebastian smiled and said awkwardly, "It's a message from the company."

Rachel's eyes were indifferent as she asked, "Should you go back to Kasfee to handle it?"

Sebastian quickly put away his phone and replied, "It's nothing urgent."

Rachel snorted softly and looked away from him. She had already guessed that Sebastian was messaging Frederick.

There was an open-air garden in the estate.

Many social media personalities were gathered in the garden, taking photos and recording videos, completely disregarding the people around them.

Patricia's face turned a bit sour as she passed by, feeling even more displeased with today's bride.

However, since Silas was not her biological son, she wasn't very concerned about his marriage.

She was willing to arrange the wedding properly just to avoid gossip and the feeling that she had treated Silas unfairly.

To avoid leaving a bad impression on Amelia and Rachel, Patricia forced a smile and explained, "These are all Angela Torres's friends. I hope you won't mind."

Amelia had no prejudice against social media personalities. She said, "Patricia, there's no need to worry. All professions are equal and reasonable."

Hearing this, Patricia immediately felt that Amelia was her perfect daughter-in-law candidate. Her voice sounded so kind and gentle.

Billy was destined to stand at a higher place in the future, and his behavior, as well as his family's actions, would be exposed to the public eye.

Amelia's gentle and considerate words, her elegant and composed demeanor, would definitely not hold back Billy and could even become a supportive wife.

In Patricia's eyes, Amelia was the ideal wife she had always wanted for her son.
